They replaced the sea bass at Arendelle with a cheaper fried cod. The tables with a good view of the stage are reserved for concierge, platinum & media guests. We could barely see. When Olaf came through the dining room, one of the people we were seated with said "here's the animatronic", which my kid overheard. Please don't be that person.
I don't know about concierge getting the best tables, but they're certainly not reserved for platinum. I'm platinum and we were as far away from the stage as you could get
@@Zandy595 When I saw how far we were from the stage, I went to the host stand and asked nicely if there was any way we could move to one of the empty tables by the stage, since there was no one sitting there. I was told that those tables are reserved for concierge guests. There were vacancies at those tables; lots of empty seats, but they wouldn't move us.
I love Enchanted Garden! I think the sunset along the walls and the opening flower lights is beautiful and peaceful, and they have some really tasty salads and lighter options. I don’t understand why it always gets such a bad rap. I can see why kids might think it’s boring but I love it as an adult. Animator’s Palate is definitely the weakest food-wise imo on both ships I’ve been on (although the best for entertainment)
I know. She’s totally wrong (sorry AJ!). The ahi tuna avocado tower is amazing here. And the atmosphere blows Animators out of the water. We always choose EG when able to be our multiple day restaurant.
My husband and I just got off the Disney Wonder sailing to Alaska, and just as an FYI, Palo dinner has a limited prix fixe menu and most items are in the separate a la carte option, (like the scallops mentioned), so it’s not quite all you can eat anymore. Also, Palo brunch isn’t a buffet, but rather a sit down where your waiter can bring you what you want. Both still wonderful, but just wanted to add some details.
Side note 27:57, Carolina at Palo on the Wish was incredible. I can't speak for other servers, but we will be requesting her for our next visit. Informative, funny and attentive.
Palo brunch is not a buffet anymore. It is not expected to be a buffet for the foreseeable future, unfortunately. We still love it, though, as the food, though more limited, is still exceptional.
BTW, they've apparently updated the Marvel restaurant show to include Spider-man now. I dont know if he is replacing Ms Marvel or adding to the show, but i've seen video now of him being part of the on screen show and he comes out to meet and greet instead of Ant Man and Wasp. For the Frozen restaurant, it can really be a very different experience on where you sit. There are some really bad seats in there where you cant see the show much at all. Several folks have told us they did not have a good time here. We had a table right up front, but after hearing what they went thru, i am going to count that up to being concierge guests. If you get seats up front, this is indeed an amazing show and meal. It would be nice if it was more conducive for all seats to see and enjoy the show more.
Ok I 💯 co-sign on the truffle pasta being amazing!! Had it first on the dream then when I went to the wonder I immediately told my server to just bring me 2 plates of that😂. I will add that Wonder also had the activity where you create your own character and then it shows up in a show on screen at the end of the night (this was a 5 night cruise). There’s animation drawings on the screen all night in a rotation so if crush doesn’t excite you, animators pallet on Wonder and Magic might be the better version
I’ve never understood the “feeling out of place” at fine dining restaurants, well who are they for? They’re for anyone. If you’re paying for it, you deserve to be there.
Only been on magic and dream for dcl and only once each and I can't disagree with the rankings. Even as an adult, I was kind of disappointed there wasn't really a Dinner & a Show restaurant experience (outside of Animators palate...and I don't count Crush since there's really limited interactivity).
The best dish I ever had on a cruise was a vegetarian option at the Frozen restaurant on the Wish, I think it was Potato Lefse. I’m not a vegetarian but it just sounded good and boy was it ever. We enjoy Triton’s precisely because it is sort of boring - as in relatively calm and quiet. Tiana’s is great except that the band tends to be very loud. Favorite - Palo on the Wonder or Wish. Giovanni’s on the Wish is just okay. Animator’s Palate is fun especially with kids. Loved 1923 - didn’t have the kids with us. Note: Tiana’s does not serve gumbo. They serve a very nice stew but no one from Louisiana would let you call it gumbo. The food is good though.
This is true. I am from Louisiana, and we get quite offended when cruise lines, nor other people from other states put their own ingredients into making a so say gumbo, and then try to call it gumbo. My parents went on a cruise years ago, and the chef found out they were from Louisiana, and decided to make them gumbo. He didn't use any of the right ingredients, and got offended when my dad to ld him, "This is nothing but Ministroni soup."
Just a note about Animator's Palate on the Wonder -- we went on an Alaskan Cruise on the Wonder in June and they DID have the same "make your own animation" activity that they do on the longer Dream and Fantasy cruises. In fact, my nephew drew the Demogorgon from Stranger Things and the entire dining room laughed out loud when the screens showed that Demogorgon waltzing with Cinderella. LOL!
We just had brunch on the Fantasy, they no longer offer the buffet options.. it is all off the menu.. also this happened on the Dream last year. They discontinued the buffet options.
The make your own animation (which I think is quite a spoiler - I don't tell people beforehand, just tell them to make sure they go to their last night at AP) is offered at Animator's Palate for longer cruises on all ships. We have done on Fantasy, Magic and Wonder.
We were on a 5-night on the Wonder again in March (out of San Diego) and we got to take part in the ‘animation show’ in Animator’s Palate :) Yay! So- no longer just the Dream & Fantasy ! FYI. I have a lot more to say as I disagree with these rankings, but will leave it at that for now ;)
Are you saying that the interactive make and bring to life your own character animate activity is available on all Disney Cruises that you have mentioned on this list?
Like many fine dining restaurants not on cruise ships, the experience we had aboard the Wish (Enchante brunch), Fantasy (Remy & Palo), and Wonder (Palo) all inquired as to our food allergies, both when we booked the experience and at the restaurant itself by our server. While we had none to worry about, we dined with others who did on the Fantasy, and they were able to accommodate them quite well.
My experience of Animator’s Palate on the Magic (UK Staycation during Covid) was totally different to this. There was an interactive show with our drawings coming to life but no Mickey Mouse. Food was better than this sounds too. I had an amazing steak and sticky toffee pudding with OMG champagne truffle pasta appertiser!
Mickey putting in an appearance usually happens on the other night (on longer cruises), not on the animation show night. The other night is really fun in its own way.
Confused now. All the info I can find anywhere says the Palo brunch is no longer featuring the buffet, but it is definitely shown and mentioned in this video.
@Wendy G that was my experience too; my point is that this new video shows and explicitly mentions buffer in relation to Palo brunch. Usually DFB is pretty reliable but it seems not in this case.
I will say with Worlds of Marvel I got really dizzy and woozy. I'm not sure if it was the no windows to the outside or the location on the ship but if you get seasick you might not like Marvel
We sailed on The Magic and had dinner at Palo. It was fantastic. However they did not allow us to choose multiple dishes from the same course - we each could choose one app, one entree etc. we were hoping to try more things but no complaints- it was a fabulous experience
Have they brought back the buffet brunch. I thought that this is still not offered. Your video shows the previously offered buffet. I have been hoping it would come back.
I can't tell what your tastes in food are! The food you shot at the French restaurant looked great... dessert table at Palo looked cheap; to me the savory seemed, as you say, meh! (brunch looks better). BTW how is burrata etc. CALIFORNIAN food?
I'd definitely rank Animator's Palate well below the "Royal Restaurants" on the four older ships. The food is far better at the royal restaurants. Animator's Palate is fine but its easily in last place for me on the Magic and Wonder, and really I'd even rank it below the Enchanted Garden on The Fantasy and Dream - again the food is better and the atmosphere in the two is pretty equal. In the ships where crush talks to tables that's only really cool if you happen to be the table right next to the big screen. If you're anywhere else you're not really interacting.
Much prefer Animator's Palate on the Magic / Wonder to the Dream / Fantasy, for the entertainment at least. The character interaction gimmick on the Dream is really pretty dull, and only really works if youre sat next to the screens. Bit harsh on Lumieres and Tritons too - yes, they're a bit ordinary on the decor front, but we thought the menu was one of the best.
Fun video! Just got off the Wonder, and could not stand Tiana’s. Food was fine, but it was too noisy. If your ambiance requires not being able to speak to the person next to you, I’ll pass. Rapunzel’s and Animator’s Palate all day. Even Triton’s was a breath of fresh (not noisy) air the next night.
If I were ranking the restaurants based on purely design, theming, and entertainment: 15/14. Enchanted Garden 13/12. Royal Palace/Court 11. Triton’s 10. 1923 9. Lumiere’s 8-5. Animator’s Palate (Magic Class and then Dream Class) 4. Worlds of Marvel 3. Tiana’s Place 2. Rapunzel’s Royal Table 1. Arrendale: A Frozen Dining Adventure. I think the main takeaway is that the Dream/Fantasy really missed the mark. I really hope Enchanted Garden gets replaced on both ships for 2 different restaurants while they are reimagined in 2024/2025 respectively.
AP > Marvel ... Yes. AP < Arendelle ... No. The frozen show was good, the food is good (if you trend towards far northern European cuisine) but the killer for us was the high volume of the room (phone app showed 85-90db). That's not just loud, that's uncomfortable to be around loud, especially when enjoying a shmancy meal. We like Elsa but lets be honest, she's not cooler than Crush. Can I get a chaaaaa?
Hopefully I’m not too late with this comment. If you already went on your cruise I hope you enjoyed it and the food was way better than you hoped! If you haven’t gone, Don’t be discouraged. I feel like this host was too harsh on the dining offerings because they were essentially comparing them to the restaurants like Palo and Remy which are extra costs. All 3 restaurants on the Dream are AMAZING!! Yes some are better themed than others but the food is great across the board and there is something for everyone! Also know that if there’s something you like from another restaurant, they’ll get it for you, even if it’s not served at that restaurant you’re at. Don’t let this swing your opinions because I felt like this person had almost unrealistic expectations and reasons to dock the score for the restaurants. The food is great and it’s wayyyy better than how they described it, so make your own opinions. The restaurants are entertaining too, especially animators palate, but the real stars of the restaurants are your wait staffs. They will go above and beyond to give you the best service and when I was on the Dream I almost was going to dinner to hang out with our wait staff, despite the fact that I wasn’t super hungry.
We went on the wish just a few weeks ago and absolutely hated Worlds of Marvel! The "entertainment" was lacking, as was the food, and halfway through my broccoli and cheddar soup a piece of plastic from the bag where it came from ended up in my mouth. It was the worst restaurant we've ever been to honestly. Everything else on the ship was wonderful though.
Wow. I didn’t know I could so quickly turn into one of those crazy commenters who gets so offended when the video gets it completely wrong! 😂 First of all, the atmosphere, food, and overall decor of animators palette makes it a 1 out of 10. The Wish main dining restaurants are overcrowded and lack in atmosphere compared to the Fantasy and Dream, and even the classic ships. If you have a wheelchair or walker, you might as well give up if you’re dining in the Wish MDR. We love the Enchanted Garden’s beautiful atmosphere and food. It’s always amazing to me how such a large dining room can have such an intimate and quiet feel to it compared to the chaos of Animators or the crowded Marvel restaurant. This is the second DCL video that I feel like gets the food completely wrong on the with reference to the Wish. I wonder if the press cruise got a very different experience compared to later cruisers (we were on the maiden voyage, so not that much later and perhaps not a true reflection of the restaurants’ capabilities either though). No arguments that Palo/Palo Steak/Remy/Enchante are fabulous. I think this video highlights more than most that dining can be a very personal experience. We are on the Saturday departure of the Dream in the Mediterranean and so excited to revisit our favorite restaurants and meals!
I would choose Lumiere’s and animator’s palette over Rapunzel’s Royal table any day. The food was terrible. Same with Arrendale’s Frozen show on the wish. The food was terrible. World’s of marvel was also terrible. If I were to pick a dinner to replace with Palo it would be the frozen, marvel, and tangled restaurants. Don’t let this list fool you! Animator’s palette on the magic and wander, and lumiere’s and Tritan’s have way better food than tangled, frozen, and marvel restaurants.
Marvel and Arendelle over 1923? This list was made by someone who cares more about what their kids want than themseleves. Sad adults have to do that kind of stuff. 1923 is far a beyond better than the other 2.
I live in a big city, with tons of amazing restaurants. I found 1923 disappointing. The food was fine, but not worth the hype. Reminded me of the food at a ton of places back home; generic middle of the road slightly elevated places, but certainly not fine dining by big city standards. We actually preferred the food in Arendale. Depends on what you order, and what your preference is. We had salmon & lamb chops at 1923, and both were too bland for us. We're not vegan, but the vegan soba noodles at Marvel were good. Our server knew we prefer more flavorful dishes, and brought us some chili oil, red chili flakes & lime wedges for it. The scallop appetizer at Arendelle was really good too.
Yo I swear your takes about the Disney cruise line are the most awful takes ever the animators pallate on the dream and fantasy would only be not the worst restaurant if the default show was the animation show I just watch these videos to laugh because you have never had a good take on dcl especially with the wish winning the other one
Please don't be that person.

i went as a concierge guest and we were seated closest to the exit😭
Yessss! Now this is NEW content I'm excited to watch😉🍦👨🍳👩🍳🍽️
Enjoy 😊
Thank you for this video!!! Would love to see one about ranking the specific good dishes from some of these restaurants as well
I love Enchanted Garden! I think the sunset along the walls and the opening flower lights is beautiful and peaceful, and they have some really tasty salads and lighter options. I don’t understand why it always gets such a bad rap. I can see why kids might think it’s boring but I love it as an adult. agree!!
Wrong! LOL Enchanted Garden is my family's favorite. Love the lobster ravioli, sea bass and prime rib
I know. She’s totally wrong (sorry AJ!). The ahi tuna avocado tower is amazing here. And the atmosphere blows Animators out of the water. We always choose EG when able to be our multiple day restaurant.

Essentially, the Palos on the other ships function with that mixed menu style like how she describes the Palo Steakhouse menu.
Remy dinner was very good, but their dessert experience was AMAZING! If you are picking which... do the dessert!
Side note 27:57, Carolina at Palo on the Wish was incredible. I can't speak for other servers, but we will be requesting her for our next visit. Informative, funny and attentive.
Ooh does this mean you guys can do the international Disney restaurants?
They will have to have been to them.
Can you do a video about the vegetarian options on the ships? As well as the options in the parks?
Palo brunch is not a buffet anymore. It is not expected to be a buffet for the foreseeable future, unfortunately. We still love it, though, as the food, though more limited, is still exceptional.

I personally love seabass sooooo
Thank you for this! Going on our first Disney cruise this year the fantasy and we are sooooo excited!!!!!
I have two words for you, Palo Brunch. You will not regret it if you can get it. It really is 10/10
Have fun and enjoy the magic 🪄 🚢
Terrific video. Any idea how well the various restaurants handle food allergies, particularly cross contamination??
My prayers have been answered! Been needing updated cruise info for my first ever cruise in October. Keep the cruise info coming!
The best dish I ever had on a cruise was a vegetarian option at the Frozen restaurant on the Wish, I think it was Potato Lefse. I’m not a vegetarian but it just sounded good and boy was it ever. They never brought the Palo brunch buffet back after the Covid shutdown, which is very disappointing because that was the only reason I went to brunch
That is shocking. Damn Disney, charge ten times more than other cruises and still pinch pennies. Let Disney know your opinion of this.
finally, im so glad youre doing dcl now

Looking at going on my first Disney Cruise later this year or early next year. Is there somewhere to see all of the menus in their entirety?
Are you saying that the interactive make and bring to life your own character animate activity is available on all Disney Cruises that you have mentioned on this list?
I finally booked on the Wish because i finally saw the dining options lol.
This list is wrong. 1923 is the best restaurant on the Wish for the dining included with your cruise. Only Palo is better, but it's an extra cost.
How flexible are the adult only restaurants on food allergies? Do they give you decent substitution?
Particularly curious about shellfish allergies.
Like many fine dining restaurants not on cruise ships, the experience we had aboard the Wish (Enchante brunch), Fantasy (Remy & Palo), and Wonder (Palo) all inquired as to our food allergies, both when we booked the experience and at the restaurant itself by our server. No buffet at Palo Brunch. It went away with COVID and has t come back. Still great food!
@Wendy G that was my experience too; my point is that this new video shows and explicitly mentions buffer in relation to Palo brunch. Usually DFB is pretty reliable but it seems not in this case.
Do you have this by for the bars and lounges?
Agreed about Enchanted Garden!
You forgot to mention UB (Ua-b ) Iwerks, he also help the disney company get off the ground.
Nice SpongeBob reference at the end xD
I will say with Worlds of Marvel I got really dizzy and woozy. I'm not sure if it was the no windows to the outside or the location on the ship but if you get seasick you might not like Marvel
The biggest disappointment about tiana’s is you can’t get it on New Orleans cruises as only the magic sails out of there.
We sailed on The Magic and had dinner at Palo. It was fantastic. However they did not allow us to choose multiple dishes from the same course - we each could choose one app, one entree etc. we were hoping to try more things but no complaints- it was a fabulous experience
They should promote the cruises with the Aladdin song, A whole new world.
Have they brought back the buffet brunch. I thought that this is still not offered. Your video shows the previously offered buffet. I have been hoping it would come back.
$200 per kid for tea!!!!!!????
You're going on the Fantasy later this year with your Mama? I am too!!
I disagree with nearly everything AJ said in this video
I can't tell what your tastes in food are! The food you shot at the French restaurant looked great... dessert table at Palo looked cheap; to me the savory seemed, as you say, meh! (brunch looks better).
BTW how is burrata etc. CALIFORNIAN food?
theater in the square is a theater student joke...don't worry if you dont get it, but i thought it was funny. Good job AJ!
Yay! 😍
Welcome 🤗
That food looks delicious
Did they really go back to Palo brunch buffet? Or is this old?😮
Nope, this video is very dated on some things and is spreading a bunch of misinformation
How many cruise ships does Disney have?
5
I'd definitely rank Animator's Palate well below the "Royal Restaurants" on the four older ships. The food is far better at the royal restaurants. Bit harsh on Lumieres and Tritons too - yes, they're a bit ordinary on the decor front, but we thought the menu was one of the best.
The weird thing is when I was on the Disney Magic a few months ago I ate at Rapunzel's royal table and then saw a Rapunzel musical performed
Wait, wait, wait…is the Brunch at Palo back to the buffet for the antipasti and pastries?!?
No, the brunch is still all you care to eat off the menu
Did I accidently miss it, or was 1923 not listed???
I bb participated on the cruise line hopefully I win but I know a lot have entered so that’s nearly impossible 🚢
*cabanas disney dream* left the chat
I don’t care where I eat as long as I have food .
If I were ranking the restaurants based on purely design, theming, and entertainment:
15/14. Enchanted Garden
13/12. Royal Palace/Court
11. Triton’s
10. 1923
9. Lumiere’s
8-5. Animator’s Palate (Magic Class and then Dream Class)
4. Worlds of Marvel
3. Tiana’s Place
2. Rapunzel’s Royal Table
1. Arrendale: A Frozen Dining Adventure.
I think the main takeaway is that the Dream/Fantasy really missed the mark. I really hope Enchanted Garden gets replaced on both ships for 2 different restaurants while they are reimagined in 2024/2025 respectively.

Doesn't seem right for Disney to have adults only restaurants
Why do you think that the adults who are paying for their kids to have fun shouldn't have fun too?
finally, im so glad youre doing dcl now
