Aemond is not the pacifist type and he owns the biggest baddest dragon. And even if you somehow convinced him out of his Daemon obsession, he is Luc's murderer. He knows Daemon would end him in his sleep if Rhaenyra sits the throne.
Otto knows he'll be hanged for treason, Rhaenyra would not spare him as he could foment war with his influence and experience. He'd rather die fighting for his family's legacy than die as a traitor.
All the key Green players are out of Alicent's control now. War is inevitable at this point.

The idea of going to speak to Alicent came from Rhaenys, whom I got to say has been a mixed bag, at least for me. I like Rhaenys a lot and I support her goal of helping Rhaenyra to be cautious, but this is war and I have to wonder, if the throne were Rhaenys’, would she be slow to act? Her advice also made no sense. Rhaenys claimed, pretty much in the same sentence, that Alicent had no power (it is why she permits all the actions) but somehow she could help bring peace? With what power exactly? Rhaenys herself couldn’t make Alicent change her mind when the coup started. Also, Rhaenys’ assessment on Otto is naive. We all know he wanted to send the Kingsguard to kill Rhaenyra and her children immediately after Vicerys had died. He wasn’t against the plan itself, he was just mad it was executed without his input and he was just concerned that Sir Aryk went alone. Rhaenyra is the better person for the crown and in peace times she would be a fair Queen, but first she needs to win a war, and you have to be ruthless to do so.
Having said this, the scene with them talking was great. They are so good in their roles, and ultimately I am happy that Alicent now has no excuses for her actions. Now she knows she heard what she wanted to hear, that she is betraying the command of her Husband King, that she never was that good of a person in the first place, because she always envied Rhaenyra.

They are not. The eggs that hatched into those dragons are implied in the book to be much older, from the early reign of Jaehaerys I. They were stolen by an implied lover of Rhaena Targaryen, elder sister of Jaehaerys I.

Book Rhaenyra wasn’t exactly fast to take action. She wanted to win through diplomacy and after Luke’s death she thought about ending the war.

The episode just wasn't good. I am not saying the show sucks but the stale build up has gotten me worried. With episode 2 it was starting to show, but now it honestly looks like they are winning time to give way to irrelevant "diverse cast" subplots. Also the whole thing about Rhaenyra and Alicent being the peaceseekers is absolutely stupid and has nothing to do with the books. Yet another attempt to showcase the virtue and wisdom of "female" rulers as opposed to harsh and supposedly bloothirsty men who know nothing but war.
