      Absolutely one of the best scenes in recent years, it's so simple but carries so much... the cinematography in this show is next level, even the GoT series feels like a child's work compared to this.

      @@queenxx1690 Mate, read the lore book, he was FAR from the worst king. He managed to keep the realm intact, have no wars, chose a good hand (Say what you want about Otto, but he's very smart at politics). People like Maegor make Daemon look like an angel, he was barely even on the throne when a civil war starts against him. He had 6 wives, 3 of them were known as the black brides, and he treated them all horrifically. Then you have Aegon the unworthy who was just a disaster, and as a final 'F*ck you', he legitimized all of his bastards (he had heaps) and put them in line for succession which ended up causing 5 civil wars that nearly destroyed the house. The work put into the fight scene was honestly amazing. Great choreography, great direction and amazing work from the twins. I like that by the end, you honestly can't say which twin is which and which one killed the other. It legitimately could've been Arryk or Erryk at the end, and worked either way. Beautifully done.

      It worked either way because both were duty bound and had the same loyalty just on opposite sides, so whoever won u felt that both still lost, a major theme of this season is love and family being neglected and sacrificed in the name of duty

    Aegon destroying the model of old valyria was a metaphor for the whole dance of dragons. How everything his father build up and tried to protect over his whole reign - the model, the legacy of the targaryen’s, his family and the peace of the realm - get‘s destroyed within a short moment. How easy hate, anger, the wish for revenge and power can destroy centuries of peace. How fragile peace is…

    "Farewell, My Brother" - A sad song about the twin Cargyll brothers.
    In the song, before Arryk boards the ship to return to King's Landing, the brothers try to persuade each other to change sides. When this attempt fails, they exchange declarations of love and part, knowing that when they meet next, it will be as enemies.

    don't know why people were so into cleganebowl when it hits so much harder when you love your enemy. THIS is how conflicts should be set up - when you can't bear to root for either side because you're really rooting for both. the last time i felt this way was when Bronn aimed the scorpion at Drogon. I wish the show gave us more to root for the Greens, instead of usurper vs rightful heir. other than Helaena, majority of the green characters are quite unlikeable (hypocrisy is hard to swallow).

    • @nissan_skyline
      @nissan_skyline 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cause that show and those characters were popular at the time. That's why.

    • @extrasoap4881
      @extrasoap4881 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nissan_skyline not my point. that showdown was superficial, seemed mostly for fan service, and paled in comparison (in terms of depth) to this battle between brothers

    • @zephyr835
      @zephyr835 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree that the twin fight was very effective, and at the same time disagree with the subsequent point. Erryk and Arryk having to fight is poignant because they're brothers and they love each other, not because of the sides they represent, and so who 'wins' is less important.
      At least to me, the overall story isn't about teams, but about people. That's why I don't root for either side, though I think there are likeable characters other than Helaena among the Greens.

    Aegon destroying the model is a metaphor of what happens to the Targaryen dynasty. Just like old valariya, the dragons destroyed the house that dragons built. It was rumored that a dragon was the cause of the volcanos erupting, if that’s true, aegon being the first born son, but not the heir is a direct result of underestimating the true horror dragons can inflict upon the very house that calls theirselves “the blood of the dragon”.

    Actually, y'all messed up. Go rewatch it. Erryk is cut on his right leg on the outside. When Arryk gets his cut on his leg at 1:03:42 he's cut on his right leg yes, but on the inside not the outside. Unless somehow you're trying to tell me he cut the outside of his right leg with a right handed slash....
