Just purchased an X to replace my 3, and the wife has a Y. I still think the Y is the better buy, but the X definitely has a better “feel” to it. Overall I’d say the Y feels like a mid-$40’s car, while the X feels like a high $70’s. Obviously the falcon wing door add expense, and value in limited circumstances, but I think that they’re not a justification for the excessive price. Worse still is the S. @@EverydayChris Love your content man. Just thought i’d throw a joke about the X’s price in here😂. Nothing in particular I want to see, looking forward to the Tesla Camping video
Last week we traded in our 2021 LR Model Y for a new 2023 Model X. So far we love it and don't have any regrets. The only thing I wish that Tesla would do differently is to have mud guards installed on all their vehicles.
Had a loaner X. The glass ceiling above the falcon door was cracked, but didn't notice it until I got curious. I mentioned this to the service center and they didn't argue. I like X's ride comfort, though the X's weight takes a hit on kWH/mile as compared to the Y and 3 resulting in longer charging times and higher energy costs.
At the price point and given the available features and performance, the Model Y LR is hard to beat. Having said that, there are 2023 MXs out there now, just coming off lease with low miles, for the mid-$50K range. So, if I'm gonna spend that kind of money and my choices are a brand new Model Y LR or an almost new, well maintained, low mileage Model X, I'm going with the Model X all day long. All of the extra refinement in the X definitely matters to me, and I'm in love with the falcon wing doors.
Oh guys, after 4 years of owning my 2018 Model X, the biggest issue I've faced is an unexpected one: I've lost interest in exploring other SUVs or electric vehicles, even other Tesla models including the Cybertruck. The seven-seater configuration with foldable seats has been perfect for camping trips with my wife, working or playing games from the third-row seat #6, using the folded second row as a makeshift desk for my laptop, or simply cruising around the neighborhood. The elevated ride height of 22cm genuinely sets it apart. The drawbacks are minimal - slightly higher consumption and the need to keep an eye on the air suspension and steering rack due to the vehicle's considerable weight.
Chris, thank you for your videos. We finally decided to get the X after the recent price drop. We ordered the white on white with 6 seats. I’ve been binge watching your various videos and am so excited to get our first Tesla. Keep up the great work and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
I have a Nissan 350z and since getting a much better job I’ve been debating between a model X and y I’ve driven MANY other cars and really liked other cars like the Lexus LS, and macan.. mainly how quiet they were, smooth ride, more space(not hard to beat a 350z) and get up and go.(I’m not a speed demon but like to be able to pass quickly if needed).. I think I’m leaning the model X more
Never thought about the second row captain chairs not folding down in the six seat X. That’s a great point and might be a big issue with storage flexibility. Thanks for the info!
Model X truly is a technical tour of force. But like all things more complicated, more to go wrong too. Personally, as an old fuddyduddy who drove a 56 VW convertible that lacked basic necessities such as heat, horsepower, sufficient headlights, a horn that could be heard, power windows, AC, automatic transmission, air bags, sound proofing, power steering or brakes, heated seats or a heated steering wheel (at least it has an old-fashioned steering wheel and turn signal levers, hmm?), and it rode on bias ply tires... I think the Model Y is a better value in the long run.
They want to know the cost of insurance not the video.. mine is more expensive than my gas car. $3800 vs $1800 keep in mind my gas car is also 7 years old vs 2024 Tesla but from what I hear electric vehicle insurance is more costly. (This is in Canada)
I own the MYP 2022, and I was thinking of getting the 2023 X since, as of today, I can get it for about $83k. Which is what I paid for my MYP in March 2022 (high peak price). Still haven't decided, but I think I am leaning to keep the MYP. No issues, and it's nibble and fits in many places for parking, etc.
Chris; are your 2 front auto presenting doors fully opening for you? Mine only barely open and have to manually open it to get in. Is this cause they lack of sensors? I’m missing the distance read out from my model 3 whilst parking in my garage
If you had to choose between a fully spec'd out New Model Y Performance or a nicely equipped 2021 Used Model X Performance....both around $70K.....what would you choose?
Damn. I'd have to go with Y performance. Not a fan of the Old X interior. Also, battery is newer, faster charging, etc. If it was like a 2022 updated interior X, that's something else
@EverydayChris how has your experience been with the X? Would you still recommend after 2 years of ownership? (this would make a great video idea btw!)
Chris, perfect video. I wish I could talk to you about both of your cars. But since I can’t, wanted to ask you about the sound system in the X vs the Y. I have 2022 Y LR and really have my eye on the X but it’s a lot of cash. Really would like to know if it’s worth the money

Believe me what I say it you a fan but on features on that x The falcon Wing doors the automatic doors that open in the front The air suspension I'm pretty sure all that's included in that price that's why that price is high like that

Hey Chris, I just got a Model Y LR about a month ago and was wondering if there's a place to submit recommendations to Tesla? You know how it shows your car when you place it in park on the screen, and you can click Frunk, Trunk, Charging port and Lock/Unlock? I wish they could add an option for the Glove Box between the Frunk and Roof. There are a number of times I'd try to get to the glove box, and think if someone gets in an accident or pulled over by the police... you might be a bit frazzled and don't want to step through the process or use the voice option? Just seems like there's room to add it, and since the item exists already it's just a shortcut update to the main (just parked) car screen. Love your videos, glad I found your channel!
Would help to cite side by side dimensions. Citing a bunch of numbers one car at a time is not useful. I wanted to know how many inches longer a x is than y and never really got that
Buy a new Model Y over anything before a Raven Model X, if they are similarly priced. Of course, if you can afford a Palladium (2022 and newer Model X), than that is a much better car! Source: owned 4 Model Xs and 2 Model Ys
Picking our MYP in Upland in a few. Tried talking the wife into the X but since she’s driving it as they say “happy wife happy life” Maybe I’ll be trading my truck in soon… 🤷🏽♂️😂 Either way, no more Costco gas lines!!! Yay!
Ahh, I'll probably just stick with my 2011 Peugeot 207, it's changed hands 17 times and costs more to repair than it's value but it has 4 wheels. I think it still does anyway.
I’m a Tesla fan and stock holder, but for fuck sake-71k for a Y? Despite all the talk about price cuts, just yesterday I spec’d a long range 3 and it was way in the high 40s. Yikes.
Giga fail on 2-row seating. If your car has only two rows, but comes in a three row as well, then if you buy the two row, you should be able to slide the second row WAY the hail back for limousine leg room. It's absurd that a lexus or mercedes can give you limo back seat space and Tesluh can't. When I owned a 3-row minivan, I took the middle row out so people in back could stretch out 7 feet if they wanted. e-lawn is an a whole. And yes, whineys, I have a model Y Performance, just ordered a Model X, and have several milly in Tessy stock. E-lawn is still an a whole for obviously stew pid seating design

I am 11 years old and I’m already started learning about Tesla x😊😊
Good job little buddy
I’m 9☠️
What kind of keyboard and mouse do you use?! And which ports?? I can’t get it to work with my ‘23 X.
just a normal keyboard with a usbc dongle!
Great Video!
Video should’ve ended after you said “if money isn’t an issue”
Would help to cite side by side dimensions. Citing a bunch of numbers one car at a time is not useful. I wanted to know how many inches longer a x is than y and never really got that
16:23 - they're for your dogs, which is where they should be
Buy a new Model Y over anything before a Raven Model X, if they are similarly priced. Of course, if you can afford a Palladium (2022 and newer Model X), than that is a much better car! Source: owned 4 Model Xs and 2 Model Ys
agreed. my friend asked me if he should get a used 2016 model x. i told him no haha
Video starts at 4:00
That curved windshield looks sick. I'm jealous
its sexy
Picking our MYP in Upland in a few. Tried talking the wife into the X but since she’s driving it as they say “happy wife happy life” Maybe I’ll be trading my truck in soon… 🤷🏽♂️😂 Either way, no more Costco gas lines!!! Yay!
Ahh, I'll probably just stick with my 2011 Peugeot 207, it's changed hands 17 times and costs more to repair than it's value but it has 4 wheels. I think it still does anyway.
Wait a minute… are you in AZ as me? It looks like AZ.
I hate that the Model Y does not have a speedometer, why is that?
It’s on the screen!
I think now Chris the X has matrix headlights now
Yeah wish I had them
Is this place Baker Ranch?
I love baker ranch. certain shots yeah!
@@EverydayChris Nice! I live in Baker Ranch and I own a Model Y. Can we hangout😂
No comparation possible. Model X is another level kkkk
Amen if you have a x cause "I already took the doors into service 3 times"
i love tesla model s
No autotune needed 2:15
Thanks! :)
Sorry lad but most of us aren’t 6’3. I still feel the Model Y is spacious enough compared to the 3/S
my mom just wants the model x cuz of the dash, if the y had the dash my mom would've got the y 😂 Shame that the y doesn't have the dash
The prices since this video have gone down quite a bit
Insane huh?
I want my next Tesla to be the Model X but I can't justify the price.
I hate how you can’t visually tell the difference between them
