The terrible rallying, general slowness and limited moveset looked to be the main flaws of the Boom Hammer, otherwise it doesn't seem too bad a weapon. Nice damage dealer, and even if the fire buff is one per hit, unlike the Tonitrus where its buff lasted a set period of time, it still looks cool when it lands a hit and the buff looks decently spammable (unless that's just speed run skills doing that). Any Boom Hammer fans here want to vouch for it since Dist seemed displeased with it? I'm surprised he managed the run without the weapon breaking or at risk. I saw it has the lowest durability of all the weapons in the game tied with the Tonitrus. And seeing how the fire buff lowers its durability and how he was spamming that, amazing it lasted until the end. So for low-durability weapons, if you don't plan on repairing them the rule is to only use them on bosses I guess?
jonjonmcjonjon The rhythm of the hammer is important along with stamina usage. Normally, it would go: charge, swing, charge, swing forever unless you need to vary it up. Charging after a charged attack hits with the charge, so it's added damage. Besides that, it is a pretty simple and easy weapon to use. It's fun to use once you understand how it works.
Oh and best part of the video was that one Living Failure ended up surviving and it was the one that could summon the galaxy on you, which he tried during the Maria fight. A weird and silly glitch but the effect of the galaxy coming into view during the Maria battle actually looked pretty cool.

Best way to use this is to do transformed attacks.
R1 to L1 to R1 to L1 and repeat. It’s slow, but it staggers and has decent CC abilities.
