Radeon 5000 series won't resell well. 5700xt's may fetch a modest price, but the 5600xts will be lucky to go for $100. 3060's will resell pretty easily for the next 1-2 years.
Hey I'm very new to mining but I have been having a blast learning and exploring. From what I can understand it looks like ETH will eventually cease to be minable. Do you see this spelling an end to crypto mining or will another crypto take its place and become the dominant mined crypto?
not at all.. tons of other things are mineable and simple to just swap what alogorithm your running when gpu mining to mine those instead of eth. I have a handful of diff miners on my pc and depending what I want to bump at the time i just open a different miner program.
Great video! I also think 5600xt is the best mining gpu. If you're mining with many cards, it's also important to consider how many rigs you will have and how many cards you can fit in one rig. That changes spending money on cpu, mbo, psu, ram, etc affecting the total price. Say with 8x3080s you are at ~1920W (giving you ~800 mh/s). To get the same mh/s you need ~18.6x5600xt which consumes only ~1025W. That means for a regular house you can fit more of 5600xts. And couple more similar things to consider depending on personal circumstances to choose which card really is the best for you and your goal. My house allows me to use 10kW at most for mining. So I can either do 41x3080s @ 4100 mh/s or 181x5600xt @ 7820 mh/s (rough calculation).
5600xt only has 6gb... might have been nice to mention (and why this is not great for longterm and resale) considering lots of people are new to mining here probably
I've got a rx 6800 currently, but I've been hoping to swap it for an rtx 3080 for better gaming and higher mining speed. I'm not concerned about the power consumption cuz I'm only running a single card on a single machine 😛
Local scalpers are asking 800-900$ for 3060 ti cards. Keep in mind that these numbers are paying the cards off completely you forget reselling the cards can get you more money. If you picked up any 30 card for msrp then mined with it you could potentially resell it for msrp.
Got my single 3090, which makes sense in my particular situation on my main rig that mines while not gaming. The rest of my working cards are my old 1080 Ti, new 3060Ti, and new 3070s. I'm not advocating dropping dime on a 3090, but for my particular situation I planned for the purchase for gaming, and that is also in the same rig I use for video processing and home office desktop. Mining rigs get new 3060 Ti/3070 when I can luck across them. Oh, almost forgot. The 3090 is also a future-proof miner for me. As such I do not max the memory temps out. I plan on having that card for at least 3 years
What I want to know is where to get GPU's at retail prices. Ive been trying since December with 0 luck, no gpus at all. The only retailer I have is Best Buy, and they won't comment on deliveries and never have any in stock.
Whats your opinion on 8gb rx 570s and rx 580s thats what I am using to mine, skipping the new expensive cards, and would continue buying the older polaris cards. Thoughts SOAT?
The calculation is a bit off if u ignore resell value. let's say a 3090 only makes 10$ profit a day and costs 1800$. After 90 days I made 900$ and sell of my 3090 for 1000$. That is 100$ profit. Not much, but still profit. But yea of course if u ignore resell value for all cards, at least your calc is consistent and gets rid of another variable.
Still have a couple of Radeon VIIs in a second rig for Ethereum. Stock voltages 1036mv and 1059mv so undervolts easy. I knew that 16gb of HBM would eventually come in handy
Not sure I get the thought process here. If you have 1 card that is $450 and nets you $5.05 a day and another that is $1000 and nets you $11 a day, I don't see how buying the cheaper card makes sense even if it takes a few extra days (passed 90 days) to pay off because the profit after that will easily exceed the cheaper one? Is the thought process that you can buy 2 of the cheaper one? But then you need hardware to support running a 2nd card?
I just checked Newegg and the prices are about double for a 5600 xt, the Saphire being the cheapest at at under $1000 honestly especially with the uncertainty of how long we will still be able to mine Etherium my strategy will be be for the card with the highest Mhash rate, Alibaba has an overclocked Galax 3080 which is especially made fir mining and is to get you 2/400 MHash a day, thats siimply phenominal. Second for me would the be Colorful Rockgame RTX 3080 OC non LHR which is if the video i saw is correct will make you 150/200 Mhash a day, depending on your mining software, server and certainly your internet speed, especially the upload speed
got a new vega 64 for $420. see people on here that get 50+ mhs. really using it to learn. turning a optiplex into a single (for now) gpu rig. think i can break even by the time eip1559 comes out?

hello! very interesting information, i hve a questions, does the manufacturer matters? i mean, i see your 5600 is XFX, what if its ASUS or MSI brand? thanks!
I'm looking up announcements for RX 5600/5700 cards and immediately pounce on a new announcement posted 10 minutes ago. The person posted a 5700 XT card for 80% of what used to be retail price before the prices and availability went nuts. I talk to the person and they tell me someone else already committed to buying it, I tell them I can pay 15% more and show up in 10 minutes. I immediately get dressed and hop into a cab and within 10 minutes of the call I'm at their door. As they hand me the card, they tell me they're totally bewildered by what's going on because in the first 10 minutes of posting the advert they got 7 different phonecalls.
Hay Team. Is there an answer or video to explain the best producer of a card, for example Asus vs MSI vs Gigabyte vs Zotac and so on? I hear some have better RAM and these have better hash rate?
Funny thing is, the RTX A series cards are the only ones I can find at MSRP. Albeit they’re still expensive nonetheless, but I can find an RTX A5000 for less than an RTX 3080 ti.
The buying strat would be great, aye. I mine on my gaming desktop & that's as far as I go right now, but a ground up video would be great. A literal ground up, as in, I have zero parts, but, I have a few quid spare (spare $). How do I, or other viewers go from nothing at all with no real understanding of builds or building to having a GPU miner running in my spare room. If you have some cards on order, that could be an opening? Obviously just throwing out ideas. You have your own life to live too. Cheers man.
Now the question for you, how relevant is this rule of 90days ? I just got 100 GTX1660 Super, each for aproxmetly 550$, did I just wasted all of my Money or is it alright? Damnnn, when you saying to buy rx5700xt within 500/600$ I feel awkward asf. In the EU cheapest that you could get it would be around 1000/1100$ xD
Hello ! I am new here trying to start mining . My question is can u start mining eth. with only 3 of 5600xt's and will i be able to pay them off in 90 days . Thx in advance
I just sold my 5700XT, that was doing 52 MH/s at 80w, for 800 and bought a 3080 for 930. I think it was a good deal considering what you said in the beginning, newer cards will have higher resale value, and the 130 difference will be paid in a couple of weeks. Will take be more than you cuz I dont mine 24/7, Im not a professional miner, Im a gamer and with this deal Ill also be able to enjoy >70% gaming perf 😁
Plus, the 3080 I got is the ROG STRIX model which you can easily get full hardware voltage control, so mb I can get >90MH/s for 200w or less, gotta test it
Bought a 5700XT Red Devil. Was the MVP of my amateur rig. Was pulling 58MH/s, but every 10 minutes would quit. I tried everything (DDU, reinstall, flashed rom - repeat) but he just starred at me while sitting on the bench. I offered to franchise tag him, but he continued to hold out. Packaged that little b up and put him up for free agency. I got no patience for these AMD divas. My GeForces just showed up and started working immediately - no pampering required.
What u said has some problems, because you need to get 2 systems if you buy 3060ti to equivalent hash rate to only 1 system of 3090. Which means you need to double the price of motherboard, cpu, ram, ssd, fans, etc. and 3090s overprice is only 33% while 3060ti is over 100% at least in China right now, which means when you sell your gpu, you get a lot less value in 3060ti relative price compared to 3090. So 3090 is definitely the best N card for mining right now

With regards to $5.05 cents a day for the RX 5600 XT, is that based on ONE GPU? Meaning if I have 6 of them, it would be about $30.30 cents a day? Sorry for the noob question. Just making sure I'm understanding this correctly. Thank you!
I’m getting 63.5 Mh/s on 5700XT, no rigs, just 4 computers, different gpus, 200mh/s, 177w total, temp 62c and most at 50c, making $20+ everyday. Electric here, $20 per month, bought my cards last winter, my 6800, is also great. My 3080 is my worst card 🤪

I plan on having that card for at least 3 years
How do I find these cards for that low of a price?
What I want to know is where to get GPU's at retail prices. Ive been trying since December with 0 luck, no gpus at all. The only retailer I have is Best Buy, and they won't comment on deliveries and never have any in stock.
Is a 5600xt worth $900 if you can get your hands on a bunch?
me looking at his 3090: *time to take my laptop apart*
careful taking apart laptops, usually the GPU is welded into the motherboard
Also gotta remember the cost of pcie risers, psu cables and other things, which skews best value to the more expensive higher hashrate cards
Yes, more on sourcing please!
Wanting 10 cards by Feb.
Keep up the great videos bud
bro, what version of the best radeon driver for mining?
My graphics card 5700XT
Thoughts on a RTX 2070 Super for 500$?
got a new vega 64 for $420. see people on here that get 50+ mhs. really using it to learn. turning a optiplex into a single (for now) gpu rig. think i can break even by the time eip1559 comes out?
for sure
How do you measure the hashrate? Do you just gotta test it yourself?
I am confuse is the 3080 and the 3080ti are LHR? or can you tale me of a specific model inthe 3080"s famaly that is not LHR please i would appreciate you info?
hello! very interesting information, i hve a questions, does the manufacturer matters? i mean, i see your 5600 is XFX, what if its ASUS or MSI brand?
As they hand me the card, they tell me they're totally bewildered by what's going on because in the first 10 minutes of posting the advert they got 7 different phonecalls.
i am runing 3x rtx 3070 and managed to get 175 mh/s going to get one more soon .
Update today I have got 22 rtx 3070 and 3060ti and 2x rtx 3080 making around 100 USD in 24 hrs .
Hay Team. Is there an answer or video to explain the best producer of a card, for example Asus vs MSI vs Gigabyte vs Zotac and so on? I hear some have better RAM and these have better hash rate?
running 6x5700xt’s and 6x3060ti’s. All for Eth. Hoping to get 6x3080’s in May/June. I think these 3 are the best for mining when buying new.
In the EU cheapest that you could get it would be around 1000/1100$ xD
well, the prices are higher now, we just have to wait a little more to get the money back
I'd like to see your buying strategy. I have 3 3080s at the moment but would like to pick up 3 more.
Does driver matter for these cards. Should I use the latest driver?
Can i do anything with a 1060 6GB?
Can you help me find a good egpu for my labtop. I have an older hp laptop about 8 years old. .
Hp envy m6
Very interested in your gpu buying strategy
Ethereum has more than doubled since this video three months ago. Crazy.
Plus, the 3080 I got is the ROG STRIX model which you can easily get full hardware voltage control, so mb I can get >90MH/s for 200w or less, gotta test it
when mining ethereum ends. can i use 3060. 3070. on other coins. ?
Yes sir
Bought a 5700XT Red Devil. Was the MVP of my amateur rig. Was pulling 58MH/s, but every 10 minutes would quit. I tried everything (DDU, reinstall, flashed rom - repeat) but he just starred at me while sitting on the bench. I offered to franchise tag him, but he continued to hold out. Packaged that little b up and put him up for free agency. I got no patience for these AMD divas. My GeForces just showed up and started working immediately - no pampering required.
What you suggest among - rx 580 8gb, 1660ti, 1660 super, 1070, 1070ti, 1080, 1080 ti ? And what brand cards are best in terms of Watts and hashrate...
GPU buying strategies would be very usefull
Fast question, and thanks for a great channel! How hot would you let your 3080 mems go for mining inside a gaming chassi 24/7? Thanks!
I might be going to invest $5000 in GPU mining this year. Pretty sure this video will help out a lot!
Lol "the glory 🙌 🤣 " love your content mate
Please do a vid on buying strats!
Awesome content bro 👏
Thank you 🙌
Well having the runner up is nice!
How about rx6700xt when release
What u said has some problems, because you need to get 2 systems if you buy 3060ti to equivalent hash rate to only 1 system of 3090. Which means you need to double the price of motherboard, cpu, ram, ssd, fans, etc. and 3090s overprice is only 33% while 3060ti is over 100% at least in China right now, which means when you sell your gpu, you get a lot less value in 3060ti relative price compared to 3090. So 3090 is definitely the best N card for mining right now
Hi there, is the rx 570 4gb any good for mining? I am new to mining and i can buy two rx 570 4gb for $150 each, wondering if it would be worth the buy? Thanks!
Hey Son of Tech. It's been over a month since this video was made. is the RX 5600xt still the best deal?
can you link me the video where you set up the 5600xt?

Yes please buying strategies
Whats the best gpu, if you dont have to care about energy costs?
With regards to $5.05 cents a day for the RX 5600 XT, is that based on ONE GPU? Meaning if I have 6 of them, it would be about $30.30 cents a day? Sorry for the noob question. Just making sure I'm understanding this correctly. Thank you!
Very good video. Thanks
Why my rx 5600 xt using Team Red Miner had 126 W of power consumption on AMD radeon. Do you undervolt it?
Definitely need a buying strategy!!!
I like your numbers, keep up!
Hey Son of a Tech, with the change of restrictions Nvidia is making, does it change your recommendations of cards? I am wanting to start mining now that Chinese New Year is over. (I live in China where cards might be more widely available).
But wouldn't you want to buy something that is more viable and profitable in the long term
SonoaT do you know of any other bios mod sites for Gigabyte Samsung 5600xt other than Bitby, if so pls share. Can’t do it on Polaris right or wrong?
