6.5 is flying on a Mac! We had a 2012 26M and got the upgraded main and jib from Blue Water Yachts. Made it a whole different boat.
What are the upgrades if you don't mind me asking?

I see on internet so many different opinion abot Macgregor 26m. Personally I think that boat is really good. I am thinking to buy one and start cruising Florida keys and Bahamas. Do you think it will be good idea.
You will find that traditional keel boat sailors dislike them for whatever reason but don't be fooled by them. with the right weather you can take them to the Bahamas as a lot of people do. I have taken mine out to and around Catalina island a few times and plan to do more cruising on the ocean. They are very capable boats.

Don’t buy one the M 26 is one of the poorest quality boats made …. Only suitable for the city park pond. If you go offshore pleas get your will in order.
Do 'M's usually have loose-footed mains?
The factory main was a bolt rope. My main is a loose foot performance main with a larger roach and full battens.
