This has got to be the cutest damn tutorial I've seen for Procreate so far! And I thank you for that! This is the tutorial that has sold me on and iPad!
Just purchased the tutorial kit -- so excited to give this a try! Will you show us how to create the other styles of succulents shown at the end of the tutorial -- the ones with prickly leaves and those with blunt ends.
Yes, pretty damn cute! Brilliant tutorial as always. I’ve not been hooked by the craze to paint cactus but your succulents are appealing, I will definitely have a go. AND again I’ve learnt something I didn’t know before, I can merge my opaque layer with its original, very handy. Thank you. Kath
that‘s amazing! I‘m definitely going to try that! thank you for your tutorials! just bought the big watercolor brushes set and the folky florals set a week ago and they‘re both great!! :) keep up your amazing work! love from Germany!
This is a fabulous tutorial Abbie, I always learn so much! I can't get my head around selections in Procreate, even from the manual, I seem to have a block. If you ever have time would you do one please?
Hello, please make more tutorial on how to use your watercolor brushes in procreate. I purchase the latest everything watercolor set, but i'm still trying to get familiar with all the brushes and what they are capable of. If there are some tutorial about the brushes would be very helpful i think!
cool tutorial! thx for sharing :) can you explain how does the layer select and the eraser on the top layer erases the overlap areas? i’m not really understanding how it does that?
I am not usually that impulsive but I had to buy your brushes and have a try at painting succulents "a la Abbie Nurse" even before getting to the end of your great tutorial :-) You are such a clever girl, thank you for sharing the beauty you create! P.S. I bought the Nostalgic Illos pack and I am experimenting it, a couple of brushes have already become favourites. All the best, Susanna
I love this technique and brush set. I can’t figure out how to create multiple succulents and move them on top of each other without the bottom one showing. I thought I followed the alpha lock instructions.
Hi Abbie - when I click on “select” the layers panel disappears but yours stays open. Also, the hard erase tool method doesn’t work for me. Please help! I have the new iPad Pro so maybe that’s why? Also, how did you get the circles? My draw assist only has the radial quadrants.
The Ruby and Buddy Show you need to do a LOT of erase strokes with the hard eraser and lift your pencil in between each stroke. Also the circles in the quadrants are because it is a Stamp that comes with the brush pack.
Abbie Nurse oh I see ok I’ll try that! I bought the Everything Watercolor brush set yesterday on Creative Market ... is it in that set or another one? I guess I could make a layer and copy it when I need it. :) Thanks for the prompt reply!
I love this and bought the brush set. But I need help. I chose the first rosette and chose “select”, then chose 2nd rosette to choose eraser. However, I have lines all over screen to show the first rosette was selected. When I erase, all of 2nd rosette goes away.
Sorry! Newbie crisis! I figured it out! Had to adjust pressure curve for brush and opacity of selection lines. Please do more tutorials with this brush set. Thank you!
Sorry, but I still can’t get the white edges. I’ve done everything the tutorial says and I’ve purchased the brush set but it’s just not working! Please help!
I followed all your instructions and am using all your brushes. However I don't get those nice white lines between the leafs when using the big ass eraser. Why not?
Bougain Villea with Procreates update they’ve made erasing more subtle. You need to just erase more. Don’t cancel the selection, then Go over the selection a bunch more times with the eraser, and lift your pencil between each pass.
Abbie Nurse is fantastic. I’ve taken all of her advice, jumped out of my comfort zone and now I’m on my way to being a procreate artist. I’ve even created a TH-cam channel to follow my progress. I would love some support/feedback so please help me out. Thank you😝
No, the actual video description. Below the video that’s playing, if you click to read more of the description below the video. There’s an actual download link to the stamp. You can click it and it takes you directly to the Dropbox download.

Thanks for inspiring.. I bound to make these brushes on my own yesterday to create this kind of art.

Abbie please tell how you made the circular layer🥰🙏🏻
Maria Toft hi it is a Guide Stamp. Here’s a link to download it.

Great tutorial, thanks for sharing! When I delete the layer below, I do not get the clearly defined edges - any tips?
Erase a lot more. Go over with the eraser many times. Lifting between each pass.
@@abbienurse8404Same Problem for me - anyone have any more Tricks how to achieve this effect?

The Hungry Printer hi 👋🏻 you need to erase a bit more. Lift your pencil between erase strokes.

Where do you get the guide stamp, with the circle grid?
in the video description
Abbie Nurse Lol sorry I must be being thick, will watch more closely thank you 😊

Abbie Nurse 😜thank you
looks great! thank you for sharing X now thinking of a good excuse to buy another brushset whahahhaa... bought too many lately ....
That is gorgeous. The only way I can buy these brushes is with pay pal ? Can I buy them with credit card?
❤
How did you get the assisted grid to look/act like that? I can’t see that option in the ones I have on my Procreate...
Daryl it’s not the assisted grid. It’s just a stamp that I put on a layer in my canvas to use as a guide.
I’m so excited that I don’t even know what to say... 🤪🤩🥳 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
