Thank you for the video. This is exactly the way I am tuning now with both the drum dial and tunebot and it works well for me. I could never tune by ear and am glad to have the tools.

Would be nice to know what frequency your bottom head is. 72 on a Drum Dial doesn’t tell us much.

Thank you for your simple illustration on how to use the Drum Dial in conjunction with the Tunebot! I would love to see a video showing how you tune your snare and kick.

Tuning drums has become such a crock of shlt. There is no single way. And you can have your drums where you want them, be playing (not to the point that theyre loosening) and find yourself tuning the toms uo, and being like oooo yeaaa..and than going slightly higher and being like damn theres that bottom end booming, despite them still sound high-ish(not quite jazz, but the sort of jazzish feel alot of the 70s rock drummers had with their toms)

40+ yrs playing & tuning drums and I would never tune drums that low that you show in this video. Drums sound like shit and then you add microphones which just amplify the bad tuning. The heads don’t have enough tension on them being that low to benefit the heads to vibrate In conjunction to the shell of the drum. Drums should have a nice sold smooth thump without the heads vibrating a warpy buzzing sound and vibrating lots of overtones. Tuning a drum higher to it proper pitch perfect note will result in the drum sounding deeper and fatter tone without all the overtones warping buzzing sounds and the drum will have more sustain and sound much clearer in standing out in the music mix better or with other band members instruments. This video shows what drums should not sound like, warpy & buzzy & lot of unwanted overtones sound and the shell can’t hold a sustaining sound with lot of unwanted overtones.
