Yes!!! ICM please do seated pilots in the various scales as sets and even a generic set of a German Fieldmarshall and driver for this staff car kit would be very welcome. Good review Peter. Also, the engine won’t be any bother, am keeping the bonnet firmly closed on this one.

Peter, you can always paint the vehicle in camouflage as a what if.

This is a really nice kit - the Luftwaffe version with that color scheme actually looks like a civilian car. Based on the spec mentioned in the historical background, I guess this was the equivalent of today's E-Class.

I'm fairly sure the engine is correct. There are many photos on the web of the 1937 Mercedes-Benz 320 6cylinder engine (an M142 / W142 I believe). It does in fact have 8 ports - 4 inlet and 4 exhaust. So I assume they are leading into a gallery, rather than directly to a port each. Maybe this was done to allow the water cooling to be more efficient? The Rod in section 31 is the Steering column... Left had drive remember.

Was just about to mention plugs! Lol
Was thinking of building this along side Montys Humber from Airfix but unfortunately that's 1:32 scale.
Oh well.... Great kit and review boss 👍

It is tradition that field marshals and other high-ranking officers are not supposed to venture anywhere near the frontline. That's why they kept their vehicles shiny black. Until a few unfortunate encounters taught them otherwise.

Cars are not really something I have much experience of kit-wise but I can see why car builders would appreciate this one. I'm struck by how far ICM have come along as a manufacturer in a relatively short period. I only have experience of their earliervkit releases which left a bit to be desired. Looking forward to the other ICM reviews now. 👍

Thank heavens none of those arrived at Warwington-on-Sea. The Home Guard couldn't have caught up with them.

And their paint jobs too good to spray camo paint over! ( See: DAD'S ARMY: "The Captain's Car" Which features my old hometown and even my primary school including the classroom window of where I actually learned to read as a 7 year old!) ☺️

Good Morning! This looks really interesting and should be fun to build. Maybe take a break from tanks. ( for just a short while )

i believe icm do a 1/35 6 wheel german staff car and i think that was 8 cylinders so maybe they used that sprue for the engine, which when the bonnet is closed you cannot see anyway

Thank you for the nice review. I have a TON of ICM kits. They are all awsome and are so enjoyable to build once you get used to the more soft plastic. You will love even more Miniart kits... they are absolutely GORGEOUS too. I'm a fan of both brands.

It was sooo hot and muggy yesterday and I had difficulties staying awake in the living room at my laptop so I decided to lay down on the couch for a minute. Okay ten minutes. Just before Peter starts. The next thing I know it's past 10 o'clock. Anyhow I've watched the entire review, an excellent kit. I did do a bit of homework yesterday, on Scalemates I found the building manual and went through it. I think I might go for the matt grey colour (NJG1 1943). There is also a smashing blue variant (Luftwaffe 1940), which would be my second choice. I doubt I'm going to buy any of ICM's paints, I've got over a hundred of tinlets, glass jars and plastic bottles of paints from 4 or 5 other brands. Please keep them coming from ICM!

The reason why there is 8 cylinders is Mercedes snuck 2 more cylinders so they can fool ICM.🤣🤣
