A key misconception with Omni-Man in Invincible is that people think he is "What if Superman but evil" but he is actually "What if Pa Kent was General Zod's secret identity" Mark is the Superman of this story.
that actually a perfect way of describing it. Like if superman was General Zod's child instead of Jor-El's, and Debbie is kind of the John Kent where she has to teach Mark how to be a hero of Earth, whereas Nolan is trying to teach him to be a Viltrumite.
My thoughts on the step-dad scenes is that it's there to show how all of these people are real. Even the random nobodies. They have lives and feelings and dreams. They're not just bodies. Every single one had a life story, even if we didn't get to see it. And from a cynical point of view, it's to make it that much more painful when any one of them die.

The Amber thing is the worst part of the entire season. Apparently there was some kind of miscomunication between the writers of those two consecutive episodes where they thought her reaction was going to be different and it created a super weird disconnect. Everyone agrees the way it ended up was a huge mistake.
Amber is overhated. Yeah she’s wrong but she’s a teenager, she’s allowed to be wrong. It’s not like Mark did her right, he kept standing her up and then begging her to take him back. He should have realized he wasn’t ready for a relationship.
It’s weird because the original was a lot more basic, yet it’s inoffensive ultimately. At least on her attitude towards Mark’s secret (she initially thought he was doing drugs before piecing it together); some other stuff wasn’t so great later. Hard to say what will be retained from the comic in certain things, Season 2 I’m always unsure how much of the hate she gets is from racial/gender prejudice, how much is our tendency to side with the protagonist, and how much was botching the execution. Ironically, the one change I feel they’re *definitely* going to change is the origin of Monster Girl’s powers… because they’re literally based on a racist stereotype that’s super problematic. I’ll let you guess which one.
He’s actually a hero based off a comics villain, specifically DC Comics’ Vandal Savage; both are a Cro-Magnon who attains a kind of immortality, lives through many generations of human societies developing and even *were* notable historical figures at certain points in time. Dude things change soooo much. At the end of the series, youll come back and rewatch the first season and be like "oh my gosh i forgot about all these people" like "holy shit, we havent even gone into space yet, were back on earth when it feels like the entire story is in space"
I had not read the Invincible comics until the show had already started coming out, and while they are overall quite good, there is some stuff that hasn't aged well, and the show definitely handles a lot of that stuff better, at least so far. (No spoilers) Amber is one of those complicated situations where they were trying to update her character to be more of an actual character than she was in the comics, and the rockiness of the breakup and reunion at the end of the season is largely a result of the fact that this was a wholly new part of the story that didn't really happen in the original. I think the issue is largely just the dialogue around the two scenes feels clunky and doesn't really justify or explain her behavior in a way that makes sense. The breakup would have worked better if she had said something like: "You spent the whole day at the college telling me you want to be with me going forward but still weren't willing to trust me with your secret until a day after I broke up with you. So do you really see a future with me if you don't trust me until you are completely out of other options?" And the reunion would have been better if the phrase "I wasn't the only one being lied to" had been followed up with "so I realized your dad probably raised you not to tell people your secret and it wasn't just about not trusting me specifically" so that it didn't feel like she was comparing their situations to each other. Without saying anything spoilery, Season 2 handles a lot of things better than I expected because they definitely knew which parts hadn't aged well and took their time when writing the sections that would replace them, and even worked in some content that was originally in other comic lines from the same continuity, but that works thematically with the existing story.
that makes SO MUCH sense lol i didnt want to look anything up and be spoiled, but i literally said in the video 'maybe they were trying to stick too close to the source material' lol yeah, im still hopeful for S2, but we could've used a lot more Mark and Amber scenes. It's just hard to grasp the situation without some details like how long they've been dating and when superheroes already exist, the 'you're lying and i know' element falls apart. It's Mark's decision to share when he's ready, but he shouldn't be in a relationship when he's new to this AAND he hasn't had powers very long.
Can’t recommend the Atom Eve special enough. Not only does it tell a lot about her character and how she operates but it also is a fantastic standalone. Also with Invincible-brand brutality in what feels like a far more intimate sense. It honestly might be my favorite thing this show has released. Highly recommend
It’s juxtaposed against Nolan’s relationship with Mark. Step-dad is going on and on about his hopes and dreams for step-son, but you never hear Nolan talk about Mark that way. Step-dad is a real dad.
28:00 I don’t think the copy could have stayed in the original body, it’s more than the clone and the original *feel* exactly the same until the end of it. That’s why in the Maulers case they claim to not know the original because they both *feel* like the original. But there’s no real coin toss.
I never noticed it until you mentioned it but oh my god, the Guardians of the Globe do have such muted sound effects when they’re whaling on Omniman. Meanwhile Omniman’s blows are punctuated by incredible sound design. When he chops off Immortal’s head…it’s fucked up but damn if that isn’t iconic. Kudos to the sfx people and you for pointing it out.
The funniest thing about season 2 is that it simultaneously focuses way more on Mark and his mom and the characters' relationships as well as covering pretty much everything at the end of season 1 episode 8 to a masterful degree.
There was a Reddit AMA one of the creators did in the lead-up to season 2, and someone actually asked about the Amber situation (there were a LOT of people who turned on her super hard after episode 7), They replied that it was honestly a writing mistake: they had different teams handling the writing for episode 6 and 7, and there were some crossed wires where they didn't actually communicate about the exact dialogue Amber was going to say, making her look like an actual psychopath who was intentionally manipulating Mark. It basically disappears in season 2 right away, and yeah, the conclusion to the last half of the final episode was definitely kinda rushed because they had too many different threads to wrap up in the span of 15-20 minutes and just didn't really have the room to pace them out properly. Also, Robot isn't explicitly stated to be autistic, but he definitely seems to be coded that way: I completely believe his interest in Monster Girl is very purely/innocently romantic, rather than uh... physically motivated. His interest in her is 100% fueled by the idea of relating to her over them both not looking like they're 'supposed' to and being judged for it, not because he's attracted to her body. Her being the catalyst that inspires him to make the change to live out a normal life I think fits well given his personality. I won't spoil any details for season 2, but they DO explore him living as a 'normal', and it helps to expand his character outside of just having a crush on Monster Girl, even if his developing relationship with her is still pretty central. Also also, yes, 1000% watch the Atom Eve special. It's a VERY good self-contained story that gives her some context and easily has the best fight scene in the series (from a technical animation standpoint) by a country mile.
OKAY It was so weird because an hour ago I briefly saw one of your old videos pop up on my feed and was like "NEW BILL VIDEO?!" then realized it was from six months ago that I already watched Then come back now to see A NEW VIDEO FOR REAL HYPEEEEEE!!!!
I feel like you would enjoy the Atom Eve special Anyway. "I already knew you were a super hero and lying to me" is tired "So what? You're the guy wrecking city blocks and skipping out on community service" is Wired.
like i said in the review, i wasn't mad, just bummed that both 'im a superhero' scenes fell flat for me. im still hopeful it's leading to something more unique with Amber.
Not sure if it's been mentioned in the comments already, but I don't think Mark being half human will matter much in getting more powerful because... he's really not "half human" Omniman mentions that Viltrumite genetics are so strong that they literally overpower the other genetics, making Mark basically pure Viltrumite. I haven't read the comics yet, so idk if that becomes relevent at some point and proves me wrong, but at the moment I think the inly thing that will change Mark from neing half human is his mentality and empathy Which he'll definitely need! If hes able to train not only his body, but his mind as well, then he will truly be- *INSERT LOUD TRUMPET TITLE CARD*
Others have already said that the Amber stuff was rough and they were trying to do something different since comic Amber is pretty much a stereotype but they just didn't quite nail it, another thing that hurts her portrayal is the show not being clear on the passage of time a lot of the time, the first season is almost an entire year but it's paced such that it feels like a few weeks. Both the pacing/passage of time and the Amber stuff are handled a lot better in the second season so I definitely recommend, but also definitely watch the Atom Eve special first since they reference it in season 2.
THAAANK YOU lol it does feel like a few weeks. If Eve's one line (during Omni Man escalation) saying '5 months' is true... they met in Winter... Where's the weather?! How long is school?!?!
I'll never get over Green Ghost's death, being INTANGIBLE should make you unable to suffer these type of problems. She had NO reason to stay tangible. If she was holding a survivor I get it but that was a corpse AND she can make the things she touches intangible along with her. And to top it all up it sounded like the stone that gives her the power broke too, preventing a possible succesor to the ability.
I'm really happy you're branching out and trying more adult animation! I love invincible, even though it's not DC it has a lot of references/parody elements to DC characters that I find really interesting. Like the main character is literally named Mark Grayson, who shares a bit with Nightwing- Dick Grayson.
I never really thought about how this show must come off to people who don't have the original comic series for context. Your criticisms are interesting and well-taken (at least, if someone who is in no way connected with the property can be said to take the criticism well).
I absolutely love invincible and your reactions to it. I cant wait for you to see season 2, it gets so good. I cant wait for the rest of the comics to be animated
I haven't watched the first season in a looong time and I'm waiting for season 2 to wrap up so I can watch all of it (plus the Atom Eve spin off) at my own pace, so it's nice to have this as a way to remind myself of the... everything about this before jumping back in, without having to directly subject myself to the... everything. lol.
What I love about this show, as opposed to something like (as an example) "The Boys", is that Invincible can be a *lot* crazier in terms of violence and gore, but at the same time as an emotional earnestness. It doesn't gloss over those intimate, emotional moments, the impact, how people react to certain situations etc. Season 2 is even better on that regard. There are a couple moments where it maganes to truly shine on that department.
Great video Bill, I think your comment about the ending going back to comic quirkiness is more of you not being used to literal comics and not their movie counterparts, this show and comic is a perfect love letter about how comics can be both fun and quirky and also insanely serious and dark at the same time.
You're so good at putting my own feelings into words and ON TOP OF THAT, providing even more perspective, and expounding on things I didn't consider. ❤Best TH-camr!
28:08 Because for most of the audience, its *not* undercutting it, its making it mean more. You don't have to agree but you can still acknowledge that there are people do find it cute/sweet. Mentally they're both legal, physically they're the exact same age, I just.. Maybe I'm too far down the spectrum but I don't see the issue. Unrelatee, but as I was typing this, why does EVERYONE assume he was Booth and not Lincoln? XD
This is a video about my thoughts and feelings. To your point, you also don't have to agree but you can still acknowledge that people don't find it cute/sweet. I didn't even talk about age at that point, but I feel it would have been more impactful (even if they peruse romance later) if Robot/Rudy was inspired by Monster Girl to become human. Aging down and experiencing life would be less intimidating if he's not the only one. To answer your question, I would say watch the rest of the video for when I elaborate more. Not all relationships between guys and gals needs to be romance or family.
Someone probably already mentioned this but based on your critiques of s1, you'll probably end up enjoying s2 a bit more or at least just as much. And definitely check out the Atom Eve special. It's great (and also kinda required viewing anyway, inasmuch as anything TV-related can be "required").
I have been watching your videos for a while and wholeheartedly love your channel! I particularly enjoy the Invincible series, and I have recently started to get into the comics as well. I wanted to encourage you to keep up with the series because the comics are much darker.
I read the comics and it's so strange to see opinions based solely on the series. It's not a complaint, it's just different to realize that the speed at which things are worked on and interpreted in animation is different in comics (the comic is already over so, I'm aware of a series of things that weren't even worked on in animation). Great video Bill, I hope you're patient to follow the animated story (I hope they animate the whole comic). But, if you want to read the comics, I recommend it, Invincible is one of the best comics I've ever read.
Eves suit is a little better in the comics. Because her name is atom eve it's meant to be the female symbol being orbited by electrons like an atom but it didn't translate well to the show
We might be sprinting but theyre doing everything they need to from the comics. I havent read them but i know enough. If you think we're sprinting toward the end of plot threads, this show is like the boys like that, they dont really leave much down time. They make sure everything means something.
The montage of scenes with bringing immortal back was just to really show his life and many deaths. Also, he wasn't Booth, he was Lincoln in that scene.
It's so hard to stomach stuff like this. I'm in a weird place where it's miserable to watch, but I can't stop Out of curiosity, are you going to cover Hazbin Hotel? It seems like something you'd really enjoy and have a lot of deep insights on. You said right at the end that you wanted recommendations for more adult stuff, and I think this is a great next step since it's still so fresh. Entirely up to you though, your channel, your content! Love and appreciate ya Bill, thanks for all you do!
Nobody recognizing Eve when she changes out of her superhero costume is actually pretty realistic from my experience. When i was in highschool i changed my hair a lot, and literally Every. Single. Time at least one person would tell me "Oh my gosh, i didn't recognize you! I thought you were just absent for the last 3 days!" Even though i wore the exact same hoodie every day, and got called on by the teachers by name. There are plenty of instances of celebrities not getting recognized out in public just because no one expects them to be there (i call it Tony Hawk Syndrome) Hugh Jackman went to Comicon dressed as Wolverine once, and of the two times he was stopped by fans that day one was when a guy told him that he was "too tall to do an accurate Wolverine cosplay" It's like Eve says "If you don't expect to see a superhero on your school, you don't see a superhero in your school"
The whole Amber situation has been talked to death, resurrection, and redeath. It’s pretty undeniable that it definitely could’ve been done way better, but a lot of the criticism I’ve seen is in the same vein of the “Skylar White is actually a terrible person”. I don’t think Amber is really as bad as a lot of people see her. One thing you have to remember is that in that world, superheroes are real, but they’re still basically comics. The general public doesn’t really understand the danger and stress of being a superhero. It isn’t too much of a leap for her to see it as not much more than like a freelance job. Also her lens of seeing so many struggling people near daily probably doesn’t give her a great view of the superheroes who ostensibly could be solving, or at least doing more to help, a lot of these problems. And then when Mark “comes out”, he doesn’t do it because he wanted her to know, he did it to get out of the consequences of lying to her. He ONLY told her because she broke up with him. Thats why she was so mad (at least from my viewing). From there, when she sees the reality of what Mark is going through during the Omniman fight, it sort of puts what Mark is actually going through into perspective for her. Overall I definitely see why a LOT of people have an issue with how her character was handled, but I think a lot of it boils down to “she’s selfish for thinking she’s more important than being a superhero” (and I don’t necessarily think you think this, I know you’re way more capable of nuance than that).
THIS!! like there’s valid criticisms of the writing decisions surrounding amber in the first season, but the way people talk about her like she’s the antichrist is honestly way too overblown, and absolutely done to death.
That's unfortunate. I was just disappointed we didn't get a lot from those beats. I don't get how people talk about this like real people, it's a script. There's so many subversions of tropes and unique storytelling and I felt Amber deserved the same level of attention. A lot of what you said makes sense, but if we had a scene expanding on what Amber knows, it would help. The Guardians were mourned around the world on every station, Mark was in the hospital, where he was when he stood her up, etc. I even thought that she was mad at him early on for still attacking the villain who surrendered when he brought her cake. Like I said, still hopeful for S2 to make it work, they just setup so many interesting things with Amber and then didn't use them.
@@thethirdbill Yeah definitely. It 100% could have been done better and way more clearly. I just usually like to try and give a more “pro-amber” perspective, since it’s kinda rare to see in discussions about the show. And at the end of the day, a lot of it is down to personal preference. Great video all around, though, love what you do on the channel.
Thanks, not many people seem to understand 'I want more Amber scenes' means I like Amber. I just felt they fumbled the biggest moments. I guess if I knew I was stepping into a hornet's nest, I would drive the point home more... they setup SO MUCH unique stuff with Amber.
You didn't focus on him much, but I feel like the Superhero Tailor guy (voiced by Mark Hamill, why not) was an especially interesting part of the show as both a way to emphasize how normalized super-heroics are in this setting (Costumes get damaged all the time, makes sense they'd need a specific tailor who keeps secrets) while also contributing to the murder mystery plot and having interesting interactions with both Debbie and Nolan that show the audience how long he's known both of them.
no worries. you didnt! i got a LOT of comments about this so i decided to clarify lmaooo that shot does kinda draw attention to JWB and having little reference to immortal's face i was soooo confused and just started making bits. it's clarified later in the video
I adore this show and there's a lot that they do really well right out the bat, but a lot doesn't get good until the second half of second season. The one thing I'd say they're not good at is giving a feel for the passage of time and this is what hurts how the relationship with Amber comes across the most. What gets missed about Mark and Amber is that by the end of season one they've been together for many months. Eve does make a mention of it ("I didn't tell you to string her along for five months"), but it's easy to miss. So take time passing, take Mark making excuses all the time, then take Mark making promises (it won't happen again, I'll do better), take Amber realizing that Mark is Invincible, and take her also realizing that not only is he lying to her about who he is, but he's *also* lying about things changing or being better, because it's obvious that things will *never* get better, then I think it's easier to see where she's coming from. I mean, you can be ok or not ok with your boyfriend having big responsibilities that makes him unavailable most of the time, but you have to be able to decide for yourself if you're good with that or not, and Mark dangling the "it'll change" carrot in front of her must've really hurt once she put two and two together. Plus, she's a teenager; she's allowed to having a harder time parsing her feelings.
It'll be interesting to watch someone in-real-time experience Amber and her....for the lack of better words, and TH-cam doesn't like the word See-You-Next-Tuesday, Amber's Bitch-Mode. To compare how she is then and how she is in season 2. Like, we all stewed with her bitchiness week by week. I'm curious to see what someone catching up to it quickly will feel about it. I won't spoil anything, but I thought she'd be a lot worse.
The comic takes more time with things. The show does sprint a bit, likely because there's so, so much story to get through. This is a huuuuuuuge story, spanning a long, long time. It's awesome.
in case you're worried this season hardened you too much against this kind of thing, i was still extremely shocked by something in season 2. i look forward to you seeing it too

Don't worry about Omni Man. He's going to make you care about him maybe not in this season. Also Mark is getting his shit beat up in almost every episode.
I ended up buying a cheap knockoff Omniman (Omnipotent Man in Japanese knockoff lingo). Bunched his costume around his waist, and carefully drew each chest hair on exactly where it needed to be. NOW he’s hot daddy.

It's Mark's decision to share when he's ready, but he shouldn't be in a relationship when he's new to this AAND he hasn't had powers very long.
"And they will be called... the Little League... the.. Young Adult Gods!"
You were so kinda close!
I can't believe someone recommended this to you but omg YES PLEASE do the Atom Eve special!
Lmao the step-dad thing from the beggining couldn't be less relevant. It was funny see you trying to connect it to everything else.
i accidentally wrote a spinoff lmaooo
It’s juxtaposed against Nolan’s relationship with Mark. Step-dad is going on and on about his hopes and dreams for step-son, but you never hear Nolan talk about Mark that way. Step-dad is a real dad.
how could i know that as I'm watching episode 1 for the first time lol that's for later
It is a must to watch Atom Eve if you love her character. Season 2 goes hard and brutal in quite a few episodes thus far.
28:00 I don’t think the copy could have stayed in the original body, it’s more than the clone and the original *feel* exactly the same until the end of it. That’s why in the Maulers case they claim to not know the original because they both *feel* like the original. But there’s no real coin toss.
Can we get some hearts for Bill, please? He deserves them.❤❤❤
:')

OKAY It was so weird because an hour ago I briefly saw one of your old videos pop up on my feed and was like "NEW BILL VIDEO?!" then realized it was from six months ago that I already watched
Then come back now to see A NEW VIDEO FOR REAL HYPEEEEEE!!!!
So you're saying... dreams come true when you consume all my content!?! numnumnumnummm
@thethirdbill I clearly have new thethirdbill video sixth sense 💅 TheSixthSense if you will
I feel like you would enjoy the Atom Eve special
Anyway.
"I already knew you were a super hero and lying to me" is tired
"So what? You're the guy wrecking city blocks and skipping out on community service" is Wired.
like i said in the review, i wasn't mad, just bummed that both 'im a superhero' scenes fell flat for me. im still hopeful it's leading to something more unique with Amber.
Not sure if it's been mentioned in the comments already, but I don't think Mark being half human will matter much in getting more powerful because... he's really not "half human"
Omniman mentions that Viltrumite genetics are so strong that they literally overpower the other genetics, making Mark basically pure Viltrumite.
I haven't read the comics yet, so idk if that becomes relevent at some point and proves me wrong, but at the moment I think the inly thing that will change Mark from neing half human is his mentality and empathy
Which he'll definitely need! If hes able to train not only his body, but his mind as well, then he will truly be- *INSERT LOUD TRUMPET TITLE CARD*
yeah, that was pretty early of me lol now i think it'll matter to the err... "space supreme society" that Mark is 'half human'
I literally just binged season 1 for the first time a few days ago 😭
I'm just glad I'm not the only one who FELT some of those scenes. Like, not the obvious emotional ones.
And to top it all up it sounded like the stone that gives her the power broke too, preventing a possible succesor to the ability.
she was in shock in seeing a friend die in front of her
Whoever your editor is deserves whatever you pay them. It's such a great way to convey what's going on and show a lot but hopefully avoid TH-cam bs.
If it's you you are working hard and if not your editor is.
it's all me lol :)
How dare you! NEVER stop making Sky High references!

Oh yay! Bill's gonna react to Invincible!
*opening plays
Oh no, Bill's gonna react to Invincible
nobody broke the glass incase of an 'oh no bill'
Please do the Atom Eve special. It's fantastic.
I haven't watched the first season in a looong time and I'm waiting for season 2 to wrap up so I can watch all of it (plus the Atom Eve spin off) at my own pace, so it's nice to have this as a way to remind myself of the... everything about this before jumping back in, without having to directly subject myself to the... everything. lol.
man i remember watching that last brutal scene and my friend just going "not so titlecard now huh boy"
Loved the reaction. Definitely react to Atom Eve and Season 2.
I really love this series, the Atom Eve special is one of my favorites, definitely check it and season 2 out!
Seeing your reactions to shows always make me so emotional 😭
(Love it and your videos though!)
Bill. The episode that came out immediately before this video is something that made me want to see this video, then you dropped it. Amazing.
I'm glad you enjoyed the first season, Bill! Awesome video as always! Would love to see your takes on the rest of the show :)
“Was he Wilkes Booth? No bill, he was Abraham Lincoln lol
that doesn't make it any less hilarious lol but yeah i was just messin around. please enjoy the rest of the video
:')
Hell yes im very interested to see your take on this show
hope it holds up!
YES please do the adam eve special and s2!!!
Not all relationships between guys and gals needs to be romance or family.
yay I’m so glad you’re watchInc this!!! It’s always so fun to see you get traumatized by shows I like
Someone probably already mentioned this but based on your critiques of s1, you'll probably end up enjoying s2 a bit more or at least just as much. And definitely check out the Atom Eve special. It's great (and also kinda required viewing anyway, inasmuch as anything TV-related can be "required").
her logo is electrons around the fem symbol because she's "Atom Eve"
i also like that they changed william to being gay from the beginning instead of being homophobic to hide that he's closeted
I have been watching your videos for a while and wholeheartedly love your channel! I particularly enjoy the Invincible series, and I have recently started to get into the comics as well. I wanted to encourage you to keep up with the series because the comics are much darker.
Loved the vid!
Would you ever think of doing will wood music again? His last album is pretty good and I'd love to see your input
Love love love this vid Bill, I’m brainrotting over Invincible right now and I’ve always loved your reactions so I ate this up
I don't think anyone was ready for that ending
hands down has to be the best comic adaptation
I read the comics and it's so strange to see opinions based solely on the series. It's not a complaint, it's just different to realize that the speed at which things are worked on and interpreted in animation is different in comics (the comic is already over so, I'm aware of a series of things that weren't even worked on in animation).
Great video Bill, I hope you're patient to follow the animated story (I hope they animate the whole comic). But, if you want to read the comics, I recommend it, Invincible is one of the best comics I've ever read.
Loved the video, Bill! Also, here's to hoping you do a trying to stan of Hozier's Unreal, Unearth!
Eves suit is a little better in the comics. Because her name is atom eve it's meant to be the female symbol being orbited by electrons like an atom but it didn't translate well to the show
spoilers for my next videos:
i'm glad they took the feedback and made it clearer lol first scene is an important time to have done it in more detail
Love your take on this show! I'm very interested in seeing what you think of everything in the end!
Ok so the second I hear you say “hell boy detective” I know you get exactly what this show is about 😊
Loved your reaction and thoughts!!
We might be sprinting but theyre doing everything they need to from the comics. I havent read them but i know enough. If you think we're sprinting toward the end of plot threads, this show is like the boys like that, they dont really leave much down time. They make sure everything means something.
Awesome reaction of my favorite episode of Invincible!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks! ...which one was that? lol
The Immortal wasn’t Booth, he was Abraham Lincoln, hence why Lincoln is smirking, Booth doesn’t know he’s bulletproof lol
that doesn't make it any less hilarious lol but yeah i was just messin around. please enjoy the rest of the video
The montage of scenes with bringing immortal back was just to really show his life and many deaths. Also, he wasn't Booth, he was Lincoln in that scene.
I feel like I'm one of the few people on the planet who liked Sky High. It was super cheesy but also kind of wholesome?
I did too... just don't think about the story implications too much like i did lol
@@thethirdbill oh no... I just did. Yup. That got weird.
im so sorry
It's so hard to stomach stuff like this. I'm in a weird place where it's miserable to watch, but I can't stop
Out of curiosity, are you going to cover Hazbin Hotel? It seems like something you'd really enjoy and have a lot of deep insights on. You said right at the end that you wanted recommendations for more adult stuff, and I think this is a great next step since it's still so fresh. Entirely up to you though, your channel, your content! Love and appreciate ya Bill, thanks for all you do!
you need to watch dungeon meshi
Oh my god you are so right
Nobody recognizing Eve when she changes out of her superhero costume is actually pretty realistic from my experience.
There are plenty of instances of celebrities not getting recognized out in public just because no one expects them to be there (i call it Tony Hawk Syndrome)
Hugh Jackman went to Comicon dressed as Wolverine once, and of the two times he was stopped by fans that day one was when a guy told him that he was "too tall to do an accurate Wolverine cosplay"
It's like Eve says "If you don't expect to see a superhero on your school, you don't see a superhero in your school"
Glad you enjoyed it
The whole Amber situation has been talked to death, resurrection, and redeath.
YES BILL YESSSSSSSS
You didn't focus on him much, but I feel like the Superhero Tailor guy (voiced by Mark Hamill, why not) was an especially interesting part of the show as both a way to emphasize how normalized super-heroics are in this setting (Costumes get damaged all the time, makes sense they'd need a specific tailor who keeps secrets) while also contributing to the murder mystery plot and having interesting interactions with both Debbie and Nolan that show the audience how long he's known both of them.
The immortal was not Booth, he was Lincoln
that doesn't make it any less hilarious lol but yeah i was just messin around. please enjoy the rest of the video
@@thethirdbill oh, yhea, don't worry i always love your videos, i was just tring to be informative, i'm sorry if i came off as rude
no worries. you didnt! i got a LOT of comments about this so i decided to clarify lmaooo that shot does kinda draw attention to JWB and having little reference to immortal's face i was soooo confused and just started making bits. it's clarified later in the video
I broke for Mr. Robot when his actual body passed and when Omniman was just beating his boy. It fucking hurt to watch.
I enjoy this review
As for Nolan. We're never meant to forgive him, but there is a desire to get us to understand why other characters might.
Great reaction!
What an amazing season!
Yeah, I do agree that they handled Amber badly.
Season 2 is really good.
You should 100 percent watch the Atom Eve special in-between.
It adds a lot to Eve's character
There's also the Atom Eve special
Invincible is amazing. I love this series.
The comic takes more time with things. The show does sprint a bit, likely because there's so, so much story to get through. This is a huuuuuuuge story, spanning a long, long time. It's awesome.
i feel validated in that feeling lol lots of fast pace stuff makes it feel rushed and i keep forgetting this is adapted lol Thanks!
"Guy from Fortnite" There's actually a picture drawn by an artist that worked on the comic of Omni Man hitting the griddy.
Oh shit haven’t even see this yet but already sending hugs

7:57 lol bill, your jokes are unmatched
in case you're worried this season hardened you too much against this kind of thing, i was still extremely shocked by something in season 2. i look forward to you seeing it too
Oh yeah tell the guy with daddy issues to watch "daddy issues: the show" because that's a great idea!
i appreciate you looking out for me lol
at least season two is not as gore, but the ptsd get's a heavy focus.@@thethirdbill

"Joe Biden with a mullet" got me lmao.
"Its the guy from fortnite" 😂
what's next? they're gonna make BOOKS about this show?! lmaooo
"Joe Biden with a mullet" almost killed me
Where is Star vs the Forces of Evil? Did you drop it?
Yes I want S2 and Atom Eve special
Oh this is gonna be good.
