the line that always gives me chills is when the teenager guy is holding a harpoon to them and they tell him they aren't afraid of him, and he replies with "no, but we're afraid of you." and he says that without sounding even a little afraid. it kinda goes with the queer allegory , and how "homophobia" is almost never caused by actual fear, its just hate given another name.
I think the thing to remember when asking “is luca a queer story” is that movies are made by a lot of people. Sure the director never thought of it like that, but a couple dozen other people made the storyboards and got to put their own thoughts into it. It’s never as simple as a yes or no with these things
As a trans man, I couldn’t help but read it as a queer story. The moment where Luca ‘rejects’ Alberto to save himself hit particularly hard, as that kind of attitude is really destructive within the trans community - there are a few prominent trans people who constantly paint the rest of us as ‘monsters’ (or ‘perverts’, or whichever attack the transphobes have chosen) in a bid to keep themselves safe, viewed as ‘one of the good ones’ by bigots who so clearly don’t want them to exist either. Really enjoyed the video - I have a lot of thoughts about this film haha. It made me cry because of queer allegory moments multiple times 😅
While I am 100% sure you are correct about this in the Trans community, and that is really tragic, and destructive behavior, it is every bit as common in the gay community. I have seen it hundreds of times in my life and been subject to it several times. I don't agree with that kind of behavior at all, but I understand it. It is a survival response out of fear of being discovered by many closeted people. I grew up in bad times to be a homosexual boy. As a result I stayed closeted for over five decades. I never once outed anyone to protect myself, or put down anyone for their sexuality, or for being trans. I found almost everything in this film to be a queer allegory. Growing us as a queer boy, I went through most of it. That is why I related to this movie so well. I can't watch it, or reactions to it without crying, at many parts.
@@randyd.8171 oh yes, absolutely. I was thinking of a few high profile examples in the trans community - but I think this is a feeling common to a lot of minority groups where the temptation to sell out the community for your own relative safety can be very strong when the threat is so large and constant
I haven't heard your take on "maybe gay, but also most likely platonic even if gay" too often, and I like the idea. I personally prefer the "they have mutual crushes on each other" theory, but like I said I also like your view
As an Italian person I can tell you the town feels real because that is a real town, Porto Rosso (obviously referencing Porco Rosso) is modeled after the 5 Terre in Liguria, also that's why there's no spaghetti meatballs (a part from the fact that those don't really exist in italy) is because pesto is a traditional ligurian sauce, so that's what the pasta is with. Oh the photo of the guy on the vespa mirror is Marcello Mastroianni a famous italian actor. Also there's ton of easter eggs both from italian culture and pixar's world.
If you want an AMAZING deep dive into the queer themes in Luca, please watch James Summerton's video on the topic. He goes into a lot of the behind the scenes stuff, with how cishet creators often create queer stories entirely unintentionally, because the guy who made the story for this movie said that there were "zero gay narrative in this movie, they are kids." And the loaded issues with THAT sentiment.
I do feel its important to say he supports a queer reading of the film and had intentions of making it so in early drafts. He has encouraged the idea of them having a romance after the events of the film. While i dont like Enricio saying that a "pre-puberty" movie means romance cant exist I do understand what was meant by it and how that idea has been created by culture. I think he has done well with accepting the queer community and their attachment to the film
my theory is they had to come up something to rhyme anyway so they used the name bruno as a little easter egg. especially since bruno was rejected and outlasted by his family and his visions were seen negatively “silencio bruno” ties to that aspect of him not being able to have a voice and being casted out.
@@lyraselena6517 from what I gather the original name was Oscar and Miranda was given 3 options for a name change, of which he chose Bruno for the rhyme
As a bisexual woman, I absolutely saw this as a queer story. I also didn't feel that Luca and Alberto had any kind of romantic connection; just a close friendship in which they helped each other find their inner strength to go after their respective goals without fear or shame. I personally related the fact that they appear human while on land but sea monsters when in the water as an allegory for bi people in straight passing relationships or just the idea of passing in general. I am married to a straight man so I have the privilege of appearing straight to the outside world. No one ever has to no that I'm a "sea monster" if I just stay on land. But I also can't hide what I truly am. Sooner or later, it's going to come out (ie. when it rains in the movie) so it's better for my mental health and being true to myself to run out into the rain and let people say what they will.
This landed for me in a way encanto didn’t quite manage, I think it was expectations going in, I was expecting a very different film from encantos trailers whereas I got exactly what I was expecting with luca
This movie feels like a timeless classic- I 100% read it as a queer story, and I ugly cry 3x/watch every watch. This movie gives me life 🤌 I also love Massimo’s crown, well deserved 💜 I like this content a lot, it’s nice to hear your thoughts and having a fellow emotionally present person share in the experience.
Luca damn near made me cry. I myself am queer and of course, because of my experiences, read this as a queer film. What really resonated with me from Luca was having that constant thought of "Will I be safe if I am my complete authentic self?" When I first watched the movie I thought the grandma saying "Not everyone will accept him, he just needs to find the people who will" was heartwarming because I thought of it as "no matter how many bad people there are there are always going to be some that will accept you," but now that you say what you did in the video I can see how that message is flawed. There does need to be acceptance and saying to just find the people that are on your side and ignore the ones who aren't feels off. Thank you for the video, great content as usual!
such a wonderful movie :) the part that always gets me is the ending, where alberto tells luca “you got me out” it just squeezes my heart every time ❤️
I always want to hear more from you, Bill! Sending all the encouragements!! ✨ I read it with a heavy queer lens, but that’s the way I normally consume media, so I’m not thrown if it’s not ‘intended’ or if other people read it differently. Something about other-ness, found family, self-realization but also daddy issues and abandonment issues and co-dependency… Anyone who has been made to feel that a part of themselves is unlovable can relate to it, really. Keep ‘em coming Bill! Thanks for always being kind!
You should react to the soundtrack for arcane! Each episode has a song that is incorporated in a music-video style within the show, and they all literally SLAP and there are only 9 episodes Some of them include Snakes, goodbye, guns for hire, dynasties and dystopias, and the monster you created 😊 I love your content and I love this show and I think you'd enjoy it too
I would love to see a round up of turning red - I’m quite excited for it - hope you are doing well x I was also curious If you were considering doing a series of Arcane at all? It’s a lot but overall a really great show xx
While I do personally interpret the film as the two of them having mutual, puppy-love crushes, I think the take of "their relationship is platonic, but the story itself is queer" is an entirely valid one. The characters themselves don't have to be queer for the story to have queer themes. The themes of self-discovery and exploring yourself are queer themes.
Ok, I’m not a big fan of making requests without fully watching the video beforehand, but I just really wanna recommend this after just recently watching it yesterday. I highly recommend watching “tick, tick…BOOM!” or even just listening to some of the songs from it. It’s a great movie and Andrew Garfield is an amazing actor and singer throughout it. If you end up watching it and making a video about it, that would just make me so happy.
i really loved this movie. i know a lot of pixar fans thought it wasn’t as good as the rest of the movies they’ve made, but it was just such a nice wholesome movie. i really related this movie to what it’s like to hide being gay, but the creator has said it isn’t about that. what i do love though is that the creator is very happy about the interpretations queer people had about this movie.
You should watch arcane!! I just finished it and I'm obsessed Info: It's 9 episodes divided into 3 arcs (I love hearing ur analysis on everything so maybe that's helpful) Animation is *chefs kiss* amazing. Every frame is literally a painting Fair warning tho!! It does have dad stuff and dad issues so keep that in mind. I did cry.
bruno is indeed a coincidence, they were going to call Bruno from Encanto Oscar (in the early early drafts) but Lin chose wanted it to be Bruno so he could do the cool "we dont talk about bruno no no" ❤️❤️
Been a subscriber for a HOT minute, but I’ve really been especially loving this style of video from you!! Both the Encanto video and this one were so thoughtful, so critical, and so appreciative of the art and story, without that appreciation causing a blindness in your review. It’s so refreshing and such a treat to listen to! (also you NEED to watch the Alberto short)
I really love this format! I often struggle to hold my focus on something for long enough, but this video was really engaging the whole way through! Also, I would Love to see your reaction to "Ciao, Alberto", I cried so much 😭
I love hear what you say about films, music, cartoons, and more. It's always so eye-opening and I appreciate how vulnerable you allow yourself to be. It gives me strength and joy. Thank you for always making these kinds of videos, it truly means a lot!
Little fun fact its stated their tears would make their scales change but animating it ending up looking too weird for them so made it that they cry after transforming.
Great job as always, Bill. What Alberto is looking at on the homemade Vespa is a photo of Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni. And yes, I encourage the short, but only if you want to. Have a great day!
I'm glad to see someone else a bit unsure about how to feel in regards to the parents. so many aspects of this film was made really well, but I didn't find much comedy in their comic relief type scenes and the darker stuff that got sugar-coated made me feel off too. there were some other careless mistakes that bothered me about the film as well (although that's mostly me being nit-picky), but I still really like the film! I like how you described some things, like Alberto making up all these stories trying to make sense of the world in his own way, and Julia's situation being quite similar to Alberto's and Luca's. idk I just liked it a lot haha
Luca is my favorite movie. I’ve watch it like 12 times. Even though it’s semi-new it’s helped me though a lot of shit. My life has been falling apart recently and this has helped me say afloat.
Please watch Onward This movie didnt get the love it deserves The story by all meaning, even scenario crafting one, is just very emotional. I didnt expect to remember it so hard even like year later
ahh i loved this breakdown and could listen to your reviews forever! i love this movie so so much and can easily say it's become my favorite animated movie! also, i do believe it's a queer story, especially since so many scenes hit so close to home (how the parents treat luca at the beginning, taking the decision to leave, the attachment issues, finding it hard to accept himself..)
Bill, while I love these kind of videos, please make sure to watch some movies and shows for yourself. When you said that you took notes while watching it, I got a little worried because that would personally stress me the F*ck out! Please just take care of yourself :) thx for reading
I would absolutely love to see you react to Ciao Alberto, it's very short and sweet but also fucks you up if their relationship does that to you. Massimo is honestly the best thing about this movie, as someone who very much relates to Alberto and may or may not have quite the amount of feelings for Massimo as a result. One of my favourite moments is the scene on the boat about his arm. It's very apparent, especially on rewatch that he understood that Alberto was absolutely yearning for any kind of parental affection (and he likely knew that he had been living alone on the island, judging by how the fire is visible from the beach. And in that scene he has already noticed that Alberto is incredibly impressed by him, and he sees him looking at his arm and tries to make up a scary story about it to make it fun, but then he sees how Alberto reacts, immediately pulls back, changes gears completely to a soft and gentle mode, telling him the truth and trying to comfort him in a way, and then he adds an impressive and cool as fuck looking, but ultimately pointless knife trick to impress him some more. I just adore how clearly he can read a situation like this and how apparent it is especially upon rewatch how he is already working to help Alberto feel more welcome and home. I also really love that he offeres Alberto to stay as a help for his work, because otherwise he would probably have been overwhelmed, but that way he signals both that Alberto has a worth and skills that Massimo cherishes, and leaves him the room to not have to immediately confront the fact that he was just adopted by a new parent. Massimo's existance in this movie just makes me so incredibly happy.
Oh my goodness I loved this review so much. I completely agree with all of your statements about how so many bits of it can relate to different people in different ways :)
YooOoOOoo Edit: in my opinion their relationship is purely friendship but I'm not gonna shame anyone or be upset that they see romantic love there. I had a best friend like this, i was in love with in a platonic way when i was young, and i had to leave her behind too, for a long while.
I watched Luca without any previous knoledge of what it was about and I just couldnt not notice the theme of queerness being very pressent. Some lines coming straight from a " common queer experiences" textbook
I looooove this movie so much. I'm mega queer, and actually I don't care as much for the queer interpretation, BUT I think it's a huge strength of the film that it CAN be interpreted that way, there's a lot here for all sorts of life experiences and it's important that so many different kinds of people an relate to it. Honestly, this is my favorite Pixar film they've made.
nice video! i think it would be really cool if you reacted to original songs by egg, here’s a list of some: if the shoe fits i’m sorry sorry haha i fell asleep cynical fairytale i’m not your dream something new passing papers hey homies
Even if you don't get enough views on this you should do the reaction, and analysis of the Pixar short Caio Alberto. Anyone that liked the movie Luca, and especially the relationship between Alberto, and Massimo will love the short Caio Alberto. Warning: It is just as emotional as Luca, just packed into an excellent short. There are good odds you will get enough likes. Most Luca reactions and and analysis videos get many thousands of views fairly quickly. There are many people liked the movie Luca that watch all the reactions to it they can find. Your analysis of this film was much more in depth than I expected.I really liked that, and how articulate you were in your video. I pretty much agreed with everything you said about this movie. I'm sure thousands of people will like your video about this film.
I was watching another video and got 20min in and saw this pop up in my notifications and immediately ran over here 🥺 I've been waiting for you to talk about Luca 💖
Knowing how dear their relationship is to you, I feel as though you would be doing yourself a great disservice to not watch the short. I would love to see your reaction to it.❤️ I think you’ll enjoy it.
I think you would really enjoy the Good Omens series. Its about and angel and a demon trying to stop Armageddon and its very funny and will make you feel many things
Just as a nice little Easter egg, the song you year played throughout the movie is O Mio Babbino Caro performed by Maria Callas. One of the lines says "I'll go to Porta Rossa" Like Porto Rosso.
I think this hits on a reason why I didn't like this movie as much... I felt like there was so much more they could do with it and they just consistently don't. It was a good film! But there's subtext with intent and then there's this. This story probably meant a lot to some people, but I'm starting to get tired of having to read coded messages to get deeper meaning from a story. Some of your notes here might merit a second watch for me though! (I do think the point of this was to not have much deeper meaning. But in that case it just didn't have quite enough for me to enjoy it on the level I've enjoyed others). I think the reason I love it so much when ghibli movies do this, by comparison, is they don't really attempt to tell a story with themes so much as narrate simple life. Luca kind of straddles the middle ground.
Massimo's crown is the most appropriate editing choice I have ever seen, and yes, you MUST watch Ciao Alberto! You will ugly cry but it will be worth it. As for the movie itself and your breakdown: I had so many similar thoughts and emotions to you. The way I take this movie is an important and necessary friendship developing between two queer boys, and a good friend as well of course. I feel like this movie in its entirety sets them up to be a successful couple in the future, if they so choose to go that route. And believe me, NOTHING would make me happier than the potential sequel to Luca being Disney's first legitimate gay movie. It's Disney so I sincerely doubt that will happen, but one can hope at least. If anyone deserves a movie like that it's these two. The reason I see it that way is because the movie itself is a massive queer allegory, from my perspective as a gay guy. The YT channel "AreTheyGay?" Actually did an amazing analysis of this, as well as James Somerton. But the long story short of it all is that Luca had an entire theme of accepting yourself and being an "other" that could be shunned and discriminated against, and the fear and struggles therein. I think these two working through their own issues is a good reflection of this too. My favorite scene is the train scene, especially with Alberto's iconic quote: "You got me off the island Luca,... I'm okay." Let me tell you, the tears I cried the first time I watched this ... Wrecked. Destroyed. Eviscerated. I was a mess. This movie is just amazing and a true comfort movie for me at this point. And I agree with you on the importance of the Massimo and Alberto relationship as well. Anyway, thanks for your breakdown. You're amazing! Have a great day!
Luca was made first, so if anything Encanto would be a reference to this. But I don't think so; it's just a really really weird coincidence. Bruno is a very common name in both Italy and the parts of the world where Encanto is set (Columbia and neighboring countries). I definitely don't think they're talking about the same Bruno to be sure.
This is a great review. When I first watched it definitely read it as a queer metaphor, but that might just be from my lens as a queer person. It just felt like that was the subtext/metaphor the entire time and I never considered that it wasn't a queer story under the surface. ALSO You should totally watch the short!! It is very emotional and did make me cry but it has a happy ending and its really sweet. So if you're in the right headspace I highly recommend watching it.
I love Luca so much :) I just re-watched it the other day and the scene with Luca riding out in the rain to rescue Alberto gave me goosebumps, despite having seen it several times already. The story overall gives me a lot of LGBTQA+ vibes, for sure. Also ohmygosh Bill have you seen any "Cartoon Saloon" movies? Because if not, I highly, highly, highly recommend checking out "Wolfwalkers" and "Song of the Sea" they're both beautifully made movies with fantastic characters, gorgeous animation and music and meaningful stories, etc :) I'd be very surprised if you didn't enjoy them! Also, the Alberto short is really sweet, I'd recommend it :)
My problem with the parents was how they didn’t want Luca to go to the human world because it was dangerous for him, but then when they’re looking for him their plan is to out him ? They’re throwing kids in the water in out in the open in plain daylight.
Reconnecting to another side of yourself could also be symbolic of being multiracial and heading to the country the other side of your family is from. Reconnecting to other sides of yourself as a theme isn't inherently queer. Said with all love from a pansexual black person
Could you look at Jack Staubers “Opal”? I feel like you would be the best to analyze it since it has so much hidden stuff. And the music is beautiful as well In general, Jack Staubers Opal or Jack Staubers music
I would like to suggest something like a show for you to watch. Sanders Sides, from Thomas Sanders TH-cam channel. The beginning episodes aren’t that deep or anything because it hadn’t figured out what to do yet. But as the series and characters progressed… well, I’ll just say that I’ve been wondering how you would react or what you’d have to say about it.
You'd have to watch some ways into Jojo to get good some "people named Bruno" representation. If you wanted to react to the openings, that could be fun. There's like 10 of them now!
Day 08 of requesting for you to listen to the band We Three Specifically the songs: - Sara - Heaven's not too far away - Same Way Too - Body Fat Percentage
Please, please, please react to any album by The Mechanisms (I would recommend Once Upon A Time (in space) It's a steampunk band of immortal space pirates, and their albums are retelling of mythology/fairy tales that end in tragedies. It's really interesting, I would love to see your reaction to it ☺️
The first time I see the movie I do reader as a queer story. I'm bi, and when I was in elementary school I had a crush on a classmate girl. I thought she was soooooo pretty, and smart and I really wanted to be her friend. In that moment never occurred to me be her "girlfriend" of anything like that, I was just a girl 🤷🏻♀️ but I do felt jealous of her friends for be more close to her than my self You can tell a queer story and make it platonic relationships, coming of age, discover your own feelings without any kind of physical attraction because yea, they are kids What I tink it's not fear is that a movie can easily have a romantic tone between a boy an a girl and be like pure and "awwww" filing but also people can dismiss the same narrative between 2 boys and say "you can't now you're gay at that age". If you can't be straight in elementary school and have a crush, you can be queer
the line that always gives me chills is when the teenager guy is holding a harpoon to them and they tell him they aren't afraid of him, and he replies with "no, but we're afraid of you." and he says that without sounding even a little afraid.

On the Bruno part, it seems to be partially an accident in Encanto as it was chosen specifically for the rhyme of the song

Wait!? Hold up! The Sr. Vespa guy is a teenager!??? I always thought he was like 30 and was completely making up the 16 age.
not the bruno jokes i lovee it 😭 but thank you bill for making this video, is so enjoyable
also ciao alberto is definitely a heart warming story but it is… it got me kinda too emotional. i def recomended it but u must be aware of that
You should watch arcane!! I just finished it and I'm obsessed
Info:
It's 9 episodes divided into 3 arcs (I love hearing ur analysis on everything so maybe that's helpful)
Animation is *chefs kiss* amazing. Every frame is literally a painting
Fair warning tho!! It does have dad stuff and dad issues so keep that in mind. I did cry.
Love how they casually used a love song for the credits, where the story with the letters between Luca and Alberto plays.
Funny/witty comment to boost my favorite channel
[Funny comment continuing the joke to boost the algorithm to]
Algorithm Algorithm, Algorithm Algorithm Algorithm.
Don't mind me. I'm also here to boost the algorithm.
bruno is indeed a coincidence, they were going to call Bruno from Encanto Oscar (in the early early drafts) but Lin chose wanted it to be Bruno so he could do the cool "we dont talk about bruno no no" ❤️❤️
Been a subscriber for a HOT minute, but I’ve really been especially loving this style of video from you!! Both the Encanto video and this one were so thoughtful, so critical, and so appreciative of the art and story, without that appreciation causing a blindness in your review. It’s so refreshing and such a treat to listen to!
(also you NEED to watch the Alberto short)
I was expecting a mention to the old ladies/nuns who were sea monsters the whole time because I wasn't expecting that.
Yeah, I loved that moment as well. When they came out I was like "This movie is confirmed gay now and no one can convince me otherwise"
I absolutely loved the parents dunking on the kids xD that may just be because I'm not fond of kids lol
I love the little crown u put on massimo 😭😭
FINALLY ASDFGHJKL I FCKIN LOVE THIS MOVIE ITS MY PERSONALITY
Luca is a very dear film to me. It felt like watching a Ghibli movie with Pixar's style.
love these types of videos ! would love to see more soon !! and definitely would love to see a trying to stan turning red when it comes out
Please watch Onward
This movie didnt get the love it deserves
The story by all meaning, even scenario crafting one, is just very emotional. I didnt expect to remember it so hard even like year later
the alberto short made me sob and it was so worth it.
ahh i loved this breakdown and could listen to your reviews forever! i love this movie so so much and can easily say it's become my favorite animated movie! also, i do believe it's a queer story, especially since so many scenes hit so close to home (how the parents treat luca at the beginning, taking the decision to leave, the attachment issues, finding it hard to accept himself..)
YooOoOOoo
Edit: in my opinion their relationship is purely friendship but I'm not gonna shame anyone or be upset that they see romantic love there.
Luca was just so beautiful! The themes both overt and subtle are so relatable.
ENGAGING IN ALL THE WAYS BECAUSE THE SHORT IS VERY IMPORTANT AND YOU DESERVE TO SEE IT
nice video! i think it would be really cool if you reacted to original songs by egg, here’s a list of some:
if the shoe fits i’m sorry
sorry haha i fell asleep
cynical fairytale
i’m not your dream
something new
passing papers
hey
homies
I have been waiting for this!!
FWIW the short about Alberto and the dad is quite good.
Massimo's crown is the most appropriate editing choice I have ever seen, and yes, you MUST watch Ciao Alberto!
You will ugly cry but it will be worth it.
As for the movie itself and your breakdown:
I had so many similar thoughts and emotions to you.
I'm okay."
Let me tell you, the tears I cried the first time I watched this ... Wrecked. Destroyed. Eviscerated. I was a mess.
This movie is just amazing and a true comfort movie for me at this point. And I agree with you on the importance of the Massimo and Alberto relationship as well.
Anyway, thanks for your breakdown. You're amazing! Have a great day!
Ahhhh !!!!! Im so glad you're doing more movie reviews and analysis'. i could honestly listen to your thoughts for hours
Thank you for making a video of this movie. One of my favorite queer allegories.
For a second I thought that the crown on Julia’s dads head was real there... lol
Great video:)
I love these movie reviews, if you are enjoying doing them, then do more!
I love your videos, they always feel like a big hug
The short is beautiful I understand if you don't want to watch it but it's nothing but good.
I think that you should watch Doom Patrol. It's a very underrated show and I think you would absolutely love it.
Happy birthday Bill!! 🎂
I love these movie breakdowns :DD
Porco rosso is my favorite movie ever lol
I’ve watched it 8 times over the last two years and I love it so much
Oh no, its there, ITS REALLY THERE--whoever denied the subtext was there, was either lying through their teeth, or going through some shit.
Definitely vibes. I'm sure those boys wanted to smooch.
Just in time for the random resurgence of my Luca hyperfixation😌
Also, happy birthday Bill!
My problem with the parents was how they didn’t want Luca to go to the human world because it was dangerous for him, but then when they’re looking for him their plan is to out him ? They’re throwing kids in the water in out in the open in plain daylight.
This is an amazing breakdown! Ty for this I really like this movie
Reconnecting to another side of yourself could also be symbolic of being multiracial and heading to the country the other side of your family is from. Reconnecting to other sides of yourself as a theme isn't inherently queer. Said with all love from a pansexual black person
It's definitely something you can read in multiple ways.
This was so good!!
[fun] and [cool] [things]
Could you look at Jack Staubers “Opal”? I feel like you would be the best to analyze it since it has so much hidden stuff. And the music is beautiful as well
In general, Jack Staubers Opal or Jack Staubers music
The second I saw this thumbnail I called it that you would cry. Lets see how this goes lol.
You should react to tick tick boom, or maybe just the music of tick tick boom, it’s super good!
PLEASE do Turning Red. I cannot overstate how much I really hope this one doesn't get pushed down between the cracks.
I know it is not related, but I recommend reacting to the Lightning Thief Musical
Fun and cool things~
Day 08 of requesting for you to listen to the band We Three
Specifically the songs:
- Sara
- Heaven's not too far away
- Same Way Too
- Body Fat Percentage
Please, please, please react to any album by The Mechanisms (I would recommend Once Upon A Time (in space)
It's a steampunk band of immortal space pirates, and their albums are retelling of mythology/fairy tales that end in tragedies. It's really interesting, I would love to see your reaction to it ☺️
Now I wonder if he has seen Your Name (Kimi no nawa) or Silent Voice (Koe no katachi)
I mean it has awsome music too
Neato
The first time I see the movie I do reader as a queer story.
I'm bi, and when I was in elementary school I had a crush on a classmate girl. I thought she was soooooo pretty, and smart and I really wanted to be her friend. In that moment never occurred to me be her "girlfriend" of anything like that, I was just a girl 🤷🏻♀️ but I do felt jealous of her friends for be more close to her than my self
You can tell a queer story and make it platonic relationships, coming of age, discover your own feelings without any kind of physical attraction because yea, they are kids
What I tink it's not fear is that a movie can easily have a romantic tone between a boy an a girl and be like pure and "awwww" filing but also people can dismiss the same narrative between 2 boys and say "you can't now you're gay at that age". If you can't be straight in elementary school and have a crush, you can be queer
MY COMFORT MOVJE I LOVE IT SM IVE SEEN IT LJKE SIX TIMES!!! I’m 16 but it hits Istg
