There are black bears, but no grizzlies in the North Cascades Park/Mount Baker National Forest area, despite the video clip at 0:16. If you're a hiker, best time to visit is the last half of August through September, go earlier and the snow may not have finished melting plus the bugs will be really bad. Go later and you run the risk of snow...and that shouldn't be taken lightly. This area gets more snow than just about anywhere in the world.
What!!! I have hiked through it all for 33 years now. The funny thing is that a lot of this video is not filmed in North Cascades National Park. It's in Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest. Larch Trees at Cutthroat Pass are best seen the first two weeks of October.
Spectacular beauty of Pacific NW. Thank you for wonderful presentation.
