The mans brain is working 3 or 4 steps ahead of anyone else on the pitch. He is ahead of his time so while everyone is thinking about what willheppen next Bergkamp has already scored! A true great of the game!
Although he was very close tothe Golden ball or World cup, he was not able to win either of them. On the other hand, during Arsenal years, he taught much Henry, Viera, Fabregas and more. Those guys, whowere world champions and the best players in the world, kept saying that Dennis was their ultimate teacher on the field.
Just a genious. He scored always not normal and easy goals....he was such an elegant player.Defently the best first touch and control of the ball i ever seen by a player.......chipping the keepers for fun and making it seems so rediculously easy. Great vision for the game, incredible assist for teamplayers. All the forwards playing besides him (Henry,Kluivert,Anelka,Overmars,Lumberg) said he was the best player thay ever played with.......
Outstanding technical ability, speed and strength but also just so beautiful to watch. His autobiography is called 'Stillness and speed'. Sums him up well
Yeah thats the reason I included it into the video. Its one of those things that I enjoy about the player he was. A technical superb player without too much show off. Technique that is functional.
@@luistuaa The video opens with Bergkamp having a look around PSV's Philips Stadion, then cuts to fireworks at the old Olympic Stadium of Amsterdam (used by Ajax mostly for important games like championship games, matches against Feyenoord and PSV, and any European game. Then we see fireworks at the old regular Ajax stadium, De Meer. We see a still picture of Bergkamp celebrating the winning goal in the return leg against Osasuna in the 1991/92 UEFA Cup Third Round at the Rheinstadion in Düsseldorf, Germany (where Ajax had to play the first 3 home games of that trophy winning European campaign as part of a punishment by the UEFA with regards to fan violence two years before), and him sitting in front of a trophy cabinet at Ajax after he became a coach there. The goals are in chronological order against: MVV Maastricht Fortuna Sittard Feyenoord Rotterdam Fc Den Haag (now ADO Den Haag) NEC Nijmegen (twice in a row) Vitesse Arnhem The saved shot was against Auxerre in the 1992/93 UEFA Cup Quarter-finals England at the old Wembley PSV Eindhoven Heerenveen in the 1993 Cup Final Feyenoord in the 1993 Cup Semi-final Vitesse Arnhem again (same goal as before, but who minds watching such a goal more than once?) RKC Waalwijk Willem II Tilburg VVV Venlo PSV Eindhoven (twice in a row, including the following ball control and dribble sequence) RKC Waalwijk FC Twente Enschede RKC Waalwijk (same goal) Feyenoord Rotterdam
i agree and even then he want to be the best striker in the world he was playing in a era were we love the way they playing their football and the best dutch strikers of all time are 1 marco van basten 2 dennis bergkamp 3 patrick kluivert 4 robin van persie 5 ruud van nistelrooy
it would have been nice if Dennis stayed with Ajax until 1995 so that he could have gotten a Champions League trophy. At club level - that is the only thing he didn't get a chance to win.
He was an unbelievable talent in early 90s. Became three time top scorer of the Netherlands national league and he was not even a first striker. Finished No2 and No3 in 1992 and1993 for the Golden ball. Unfortunately did not progress as stable athlete during following years. He would go down in the history as the greatest player if was more consistent
Bergkamp was amazing at Arsenal also and has a statue outside the stadium. He was just scared of flying so missed some European matches. Arsenal would have won more stuff if he was not scared of flying. He has the most assists in Arsenal history. 103. Also scored many goals and Henry learnt a lot from him. Henry says the best player he ever played with was Bergkamp.
the Invincibles were years later... but still winning a treble is a bigger achievement really. not sure which Ronaldo you are talking about - but the Brazilian one won everything - including world cups.
At his late years, Cruijff played with a young Dutch Trio in Ajax and Feyenoord. At Van Basten's late years in Ajax, a young Bergkamp was brought up. When Bergkamp retired from international football, Robben began his professional career. Then the Dutch DNA Chain then just fucking died post Robben.
This literally is what happend in world football. Sure there are still some great players like, Mbappe, Haaland, KDB, Salah but there used to be MANY of these elite players. Defenders are not at the level of Maldini, Nesta, Baresi, Beckenbauer etc. It seems the art of defending has died overall. Its been on a downtrend since 2010s. 🤷♂️
Bergkamp and one of my favorite players, the more he was better than Rivaldo, Rivaldo helped give a cup to Brazil because Ronaldo did not win that cup alone because Rivaldo and Ronaldinho Gaucho also contributed! excuse the English, I use google translator
@arsenal2death - that's a nice sentiment - but I'm sure Dennis wanted to win the european cup/champions league in his career... though he did reach the final with Arsenal... it was the end of his career
@mrvitorvieira If you look at both the players induvidually, not at their results with their teams but judge them on pure footballing quality you have to conclude that Bergkamp was a greater player then Rivaldo. Rivaldo was a showman, Bergkamp is a legend.
So that's a right footed catch, left knie control, left footed balance, right footy turning and trickery with a left foot turn, and right foot dribble and pass. That is in fact ridiculous.
i love the Iceman - but you will lose that argument about who was the greater player. Dennis is seemingly the better person... but let's not go overboard. Character has nothing to do with blowing out your knees multiple times... just look at Carlos Puyol right now.
+Deepak Vj First song is: Pirates of the Caribbean - Up Is Down (Hans Zimmer) Second song: Pirates of the Caribbean - Drink Up Me Hearties (Hans Zimmer)
Rivaldo was great, magic player. As for Bergkamp he was the most elegeant and beautiful player I have ever seen, with Zidane maybe. And as for his performance in the 98 WC, please watch this: /watch?v=FhOalcQW9fI&feature=related
as I've said many say that Ronaldo has won the crown in 2002 alone and more than a lie because I help in title and Rivaldo was the best of the selection that year, who says he was not better than Ronaldo in the canopy 2002 people are doing everything to deify Ronaldo
@DirksterNL Why do fans of a certain wonderful player have to talk absolute rubbish about fans of a certain other player? I recommend you to watch the semis of the World Cup 1998. There you see Rivaldo facing Bergkamp. Tell me if you even realize Bergkamp is on the pitch. Until the penalty shootout, he is not even present for 120 minutes. Rivaldo on the other hand is terrorizing the Dutch and is probably Brazil's best player (in either WC he played in). He was a genius.
His vision and touch was the best, but he was not a complete player, because he missed lots of matches due to fear of flying. Very often he was out of shape
He was a great player indeed, but not as great as RIVALDO! It's a shame that Dennis, a truly marvellous player as he was, never won WC nor CL ( which Rivaldo did ), and he didn't even get a chance to play in CL final, even though he could have done much better than Flaminy had he been given the chance... :) :) :) ( ovaj komentar je specijalno za tebe, Perk :) )
@nikolasthethief - i liked Rivaldo... but Dennis was better... shame he didn't win CL... I wonder what would have happened if he played for Barcelona when Cruyff was the manager..?? And to bring up the WC... if Dennis played for Brazil he would have gotten one.
3 times in the meantime (2014). The Netherlands may be one of the few countries to have a positive balance against Brasil on World-Cups: 5 played, 3 won, 1 draw and one loss, 10 goals scored, 5 conceded. Amazing.
Ridiculous to say that Bergkamp was better than Rivaldo, Rivaldo sucks compared to Bergkamp? Bergkamp not ranked in the crown of Holland in 1994, but Romario, Bergkamp did not win the Netherlands in 1998, the other said there: Brazil? Brazil and the leading champion of the world and the Netherlands where I can appreciate even yellow of the selection of Holland she never does justice to her strength ....
so complicated and discultir with people who are super patriot, Rivaldo as a player was much better than Bergkamp, Bergkamp I really like the more I have to declare the pure football like you said, and if I judge the pure football and Rivaldo better ...
What an amazing player. I like that comment ''technique that is functional''. So true. Top Level. Dennis Bergkamp! My favorite player of all times.
Agree, such a stylish player he was
He s different player. He played football with nobless
Mine too!
True Ajax player. The kind that made everyone around him play better.
I'm a United fan,but Bergkamp is one of my favourites, great great player!
one of the best players i've had the privilege of seeing. dennis bergkamp = god.
still the best compilation about DB out there
A TRUE LEGEND OF SPORT

..Miracle man.. and then he went to Arsenal where he became an even bigger player. Thank you Ajax for growing players like Dennis.

He was better at Ajax
He mastered the art of chipping the keeper from any range.... aaaah screw it he was the master of the first touch and a technical genius
there is no words to describe Bergkamp, an artist a perfectionism of football. AFCA FOREVER!!!
Great video... Bergkamp is one of my favourite players... sublime technique.... thanks for the upload 👍

OMG! One of the bestest TH-cam videos I done seen!
Prachtig. Beautiful
We don't make players like this anymore
We had our Messi 25 years ago🙏
That first touch not long after 5:30 is simply ridiculous!
Gran delantero de la mejor cantera de Europa, AJAX...bergkamp fue un gran delantero ,muy técnico y hábil ,tenía muy buena definición de cara al gol
Bergkamp scored beautiful goals everywhere but at Ajax those were the best in my opinion. (Excluding the goal against Newcastle)
amazing.

bergkamp = supreme tekkerz no one had a 1st touch like him not even zizou
Mooi video man! Cruijff>Vanbasten>bergkamp AJAX LEGENDS!
Such a great player, better than Henry and van Persie. His ballcontrol was just outstanding.
the Invincibles were years later... but still winning a treble is a bigger achievement really. not sure which Ronaldo you are talking about - but the Brazilian one won everything - including world cups.
Goose bumps starting at 0:04.

Leggenda
@iHStruth - a player can potentially do both... so i'm not sure of your point.
when Bergkamp is scoring , it seems so easy.
He carries a 9 iron in that right boot just like Romario did.
At his late years, Cruijff played with a young Dutch Trio in Ajax and Feyenoord.
At Van Basten's late years in Ajax, a young Bergkamp was brought up.
When Bergkamp retired from international football, Robben began his professional career.

that is what you call a Jonk - Bergkamp goal!
Best dutch footballer ever !
Cruyff and van Basten were better but he's definitely up there.... Bergkamp was a brilliant player... phenomenal 👌
if i had to choose between van basten and bergkamp...i'd choose BOTH!

@Funkdogg - yeah but it's winning the trophy that counts in the end..

@Amidat Sometimes winning the love and respect of the fans is more important then 20 champion leagues.
