As much i would love to see a recolored option, it would be alot more interesting if the devs took more time to model/code some of the helms combining other hoods, Or even using a different cape to an altered armor. Examples like: Vyke's helm or knight helm + Black knife hood, or raptors cape to a altered confessor garb. Not the most original opinion, but i find it cool spread this word out.
If you talk to Bernahl after killing Rykard he will say something about having inherited his brothers will. Maybe his brother was planned to be in the game and would have worn the purple version.
I'm pretty sure what he mentioned was a bosom friend which is actually referring to Rykard, and this is also why he was in the volcano Manor, check his weapon.
@@chance_hollow to me they are the same. Drop the same weapon and sell the same cinders. The weapon art master also asks something about your trust to the Greater Will, a little like Tanith. I think we don't actually see the brother in the game even if I often thank he was the war master
Quick tip: If you have two of the Beast Champion torso armor, one Altered and one not, you can easily obtain the purple cape any time by unequipping your torso armor, equipping the cape-less Altered one, then swapping to the non-Altered one.

Nah, the middle of this cape has what seems to be a twisted tree trunk, similar to the Haligtree crest, along with some flowers. The tapestry in the Debate Room is also a more reddish purple with full on gold accents, this is more blue indigo with a white gold pattern.

This video made me love this armor with the cape 2 years ago, and I really hope they let us keep the altered cape version with Shadow of the Erdtree by adding more alteration options or something like that. Maybe the purple section is being kept for a DLC armor's cape

Not necessarily a glitch. The purple cape has a different design and pattern on it as well. Almost as if the garment was an alternate set piece of armor. Weird to design the cape but not implement it in the game at all, maybe future dlc hopefully.

Even better, if fromsoft in the DLC gives the ability to boc to dye ur armor pcs, giving more customization to the players, and we can use the crafting items to make those dyes.
Hope they do expand the "Alter Garments" option with more colors/patterns and other stuff to do in future patches or DLC, it could require some rare item or something like rare dyes, obtained say from a boss rush mode like Sekiro's *wink*) So much potential.
dude I saw this once when I was playing and got so confused. Thought you could only see the upper texture in certain lighting or smthn. Couldn't even tell it was purple instead of blue.
I imagine it is because of an effect over the cape that alters its color nad give it that sheen, which doesn't load properly when altering it while equipped.
So I found you can warp or unequip, then once the default cape takes it's place you can just unequip it again, alter it to no cape, then equip and alter to cape to get the purple variant again. Would be nice to have it permanently but this way if you have at least 1000 runes you can keep changing it to the variant

Pair this with powerstanced Crystal swords or crystal sword + meteorite staff with some gravity magic, and some gravity stones, and you've got the ultimate purple Int Warrior build.

After a quick search on YT it looked like it was undocumented and since it's a noteworthy find there you go.
