Very helpful. I had to buy a new van for my enclosed PW system because of all the corrosion on the old one. Expensive lesson!! I will run with this powerful knowledge on the new van🥲. Thank you Thank you thank you!!!!
Great advice. I think this is something a lot of people overlook. It’s also why I moved my every day setup to a trailer but still have a skid when its needed and backup.
Nice video. I didn’t know that about bleach fumes. I have been filling from the cap and been noticing debris in the bottom of my tank. Looks like white particles. Sometimes it clogs my check valves.
Hi Mr Rucker, Wow, this was a very helpful video tip on venting our (SH) tank. Didn't know you should do the same on a open trailer. Always learning new things. Thank you Sir... Michael C - (WA)
Air's density is 1.29 grams per liter and chlorine gas is 3.214 grams per liter. So chlorine gas is approximately 2.49 times heavier. So just like Doug said, it sinks down.
I really appreciate you for putting together all of this amazing content. I’m looking to put something like this together inside a van as well. I downstream out of the main sh tank too. my question is how do you get your soap into the chem tank without opening the lid. I really don’t want to prematurely rust out the inside of my van. Thanks again.
We open for the soap. It’s only for a few seconds so won’t hurt much. But we usually do it awhile after we have filled the bleach tank to give a while to off gas. So like fill it up w bleach in evening. Add soap next morning, that way the drive helps mix the soap up.
I have a Ford Econoline with a 55 gallon SH tank that's about 45" in height and the place I get chem from uses a ball valve to fill it so I have to unscrew the lid therefore I can't prevent the fumes.
Great tips, do you have any rusting underneath the trailer where the sh vents to? Seems like it would rust the axles or underside. It wouldn’t be better to vent from top or side of an enclosed trailer for example. Thanks
No rusting underneath. The gases/fumes are heavier than air so they drop down. Never vent through the roof as it will cause rust to the top of the truck
At minute marker 4:08 what is that fitting called that you have where you connect to your pump called? Also what is the inner diameter of that fitting? thanks again for all your help!
For bleach tanks, is HDPE better than LDPE? The manufacturer of that 80 gallon tank offers a 60 gallon LDPE sprayer tank for a great price, but I am wondering about tank strength.
Man i wish i wouldbve seen this video at start of year.. haha van set up.. and light rust on door jambs.. etc. I’ll have it removed.. rhinolined prior to next season.. and then do this vent method… and stop that. Live n learn… but i love the van setup.. and not hauling a trailer.
I have a question fir you. I’ve seen lots of videos about sizing surface cleaners but my question is a little different. Since I like softwash mostly, I’m looking for a pressure washer/surface cleaner matched pair. What would you think that would be if the pw was primarily dedicated to the sc? Thanks.
only for dedicated bleach tanks, or if any tank has any bleach in it.. lilke a downstreaming tank... which may have 10 percent of bleach in it and the rest water. ??
@@Chris72401 I have a hazmat CDL and although I haven't shipped hazardous materials I don't see anything in fmcsa(federal) or Arkansas D.O.T that would have prevented delivery. The driver might not have liked how he thought he was guna get on the property because it would be something on a 27' trailer or box truck. Like if he had to back in, couldn't turn around in your property, had to walk the pallet jack a long ways, or the product wasn't on a trailer with a lift gate. I doubt the company had a policy. Would make getting some of south east SoftWash stuff too. I'm in Texas too about 5-6 hrs south of Doug here.
Exactly the video I needed

Very welcome. Check out the old PWI forum. That’s where got it years ago. Glad I finally did it

Yes you are right it is often over looked.

Sounds like salt from the bleach.
Thank you Doug! God bless you!

Doug,
Great information, thanks again. Chris
Good stuff Doug, thanks bud💪🏻
THANK You for the video Doug!!! Wealth of INFO !! will be utilizing your words here building my rig
Very welcome.

GREAT video Doug!!!! Thank you for continuously putting out great information!!!!!👊🏻🇺🇸

You should be able to make a ball valve with connections that would hook to there's so you can fill it without opening tank.

Almost 2.5 times denser than air so it pretty much just drops from the hose. CO2 is only 1.5 times.
@@PressureCleaningSch thankyou Doug I wondering about that
Although very self explanatory but Please do a vid of this when you make it for the van👍🏼 it would be helpful
Will do but I also have a couple videos doing it on a enclosed trailer which would be pretty much the same thing.
At minute marker 4:08 what is that fitting called that you have where you connect to your pump called? Also what is the inner diameter of that fitting?

It’s a banjo cam lock 1/2” connected to a ball valve.

Be sure to install a feed hose to fill bleach tank so you don’t have to open the lid when filling.

You can match any pressure washer 4GPM and above to a surface cleaner

I only do it for my dedicated bleach tanks. But I downstream out of that tank too. I never dilute my bleach w water
Good 👍
Thanks
Hey how big is that trailor
14 foot
Do you still have SH delivered to your residence? A supplier told me they were unable to deliver to residential addresses due to DOT regs.
Yes I do. I live on 2 acres w a separate building from the house for the bleach. Pretty sure residential neighborhoods they won’t deliver too.
@@PressureCleaningSch good thing I live in the county on 10 acres. Still told me no. But that's ok I'll figure it out
@@Chris72401 that’s odd. Are you in the Houston area
@@PressureCleaningSch no I'm in northeast Arkansas.

What is the size of this trailer?
14 foot
How big is your buffer tank, Bleach tank, and Soap tank?
100 gallon bleach. 100 gallon water. No soap tank
All 1/2 bulkheads?
Pretty much yes
