    The perilous wilds is the best supplement ever! You can run an entire campaign solo using just that and a basic set of rules.

    I’m very glad I visited!
    Someone on the RISUS MeWe page pointed to your blog the other day. I spent an hour or more there and then…here I am. Heh
    I’m a WB:FMAG kinda guy too (and RISUS, and anything else that’s rule-lite). Recently found extreme love for the original Fighting Fantasy Introductory RPG, and that an outstanding clone was recently made that expands it but not to the level of the original nor recent Advanced FF RPG, keeping the spirit and lite rules (yay!)….Spellzard!
    I highly recommend it. Fun and cool and quick and easy stuff!
    Look forward to catching up and watching more!
    Cheers, man!

    Very cool, I’ve used that dungeon deck for a quick game with my group, using it for solo play is a great idea!

    Thanks for the video. I am using Old School Essentials and One Page Solo Engine by Karl Hendricks. I normally DM for 1 to 5 players. My intention for doing solo is to try out rules, get new ideas, and have some quick fun on my own when people are not available.

      And if you didn't DM for others and prefered to play simply because your prefer your own company to that of others. I'm here for you.

    I love White Box and it's super affordable. Can't even get a meal in fastfood for that price. I also like the size of the book. 👍

    Just came across your channel while researching solo rpgs. I like your vids so far, keep up the good work! Some vids id think would be cool to see would be more on your note taking style (heard of bullet journals but dont really understand it that well) and maybe a tutorial on that cartography. Looks like Dyson’s style and I dig it!

    • @mattjackson
      @mattjackson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching. The next videos I’m working on with be game sessions.
      And yes, Dyson and I go way back to the early days of Google+ when we both started posting maps online.

      @@ork44 interesting, I didn't notice that. Your can always add spells from other sources or make up your own

    You probably know this but OD&D had a simple breakdown of alignment.
    You were either an agent of Law (order) or Chaos.
    In a way it gave more subtlety. You could be overly zealous for Law and not have to be Lawful Evil. In other words you could feel an obligation to help the helpless but show no mercy to equal opponents.

    • @mattjackson
      @mattjackson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1ccortez I believe resin, not sure. They are larger than normal, far easier to read (I dislike pips, and especially dislike polys with numbers and d6 with pips....the two should not mix!), sharp edged.

    I’ll be brutally honest: you do a ton more work/set-up/prep for solo than I’ve ever done for a group since 1986!…. 🤷‍♂️😕
    I once ran Tunnels & Trolls campaign for over four years (2006-2010 or so). I have a single piece of paper with random stuff scratched on it…probably only around about a dozen things….from more than four years!
    That’s how lazy I am!
    Hm. 😕

    Deck of Stories looks too done to death and done better elsewhere. I have the Dungeon Deck though, one of the best of it's kind. I printed my own, but I'd endorse getting the real cards for those unable to do the print themselves.
