"Smouldering Ember" I'm not a fan of red but with this pigment on top I could deal with a 'red' car.. but over the black - WWWOW! 100% YES! Again, I'm not a fan of red but the colours that came out of that panel were an absolute win! Whatever you did on this one Jeff (or Geoff), keep doing it because that is absolutely gorgeous! I'd go with "Jazzy Jeff". For name for this one. I remember when I got my pigments (I'm in Manchester UK, so it's hard to get eye candy over here) I rang eye candy to ask some advice and Jeff answered the phone...such a nice guy and hugely helpful too and their gear is amazing

That's an awesome color over the black base GT! I would name it Samauri Black. Because the Samauri would wear black to keep their enemies from seeing the blood when they were wounded in battle. Great content! Keep up the good work!

Any time you do a tricoat weather its pearl or candy you should mix your pigment with base clear, not top clear coat. Thats why its called Tri-Stage paint system. Using top clear it will fad in sunlight
Black was the definite winner. The red was not dark enough to make it a fair fight. So I have to ask. What about a much darker Red base? I think another battle between a dark maroon and a deep navy blue would be awesome. I'd name it R2B2. Yet another great video thank you GT.
This turned out really good! That black base came out awesome 👌🏾 🔥 if you mixed & sprayed a few coats of candy red pigment over the final product, that would set it off! 🔥
I've never been a fan on any tones of red but I gotta admit the Red to Black shift over a Black base looks straight up fire. Whenever it becomes available I'll definitely be using it on one of my next builds. Right now I'm currently working on a 90’s throwback build 99 S10 frame slammed on bags with shaved doors , shaved tailgate with the roll pan and molded in caddy tail lights. I have the engine at the machine shop right now having the 350 worked into a 383 that I will be dropping in it. Being from Houston I was going to stay true to my roots and spray it the classic H-Town candy blue but after I seen your video the other day of doing a light coat of the Nokon Blue over a Black base I think I'm leaning towards that route instead of the straight candy blue My next build for the Mecum Auction is a F100 and this Red to Black over a Black base has gotten me to thinking.. Awesome video and a job well done to Jeff over at Eye Candy.
@@EyeCandyPigments Oh I can definitely make that happen. I'm still on the S10 and just a 1 man band other than when I can find some good help here and there. If everything stays on track I'm thinking I should be starting on the F100 at the beginning of the year. I'm already sad about the project because I've always wanted an F100 for my own personal self but that doesn't pay the bills so when I found it I bought it under the promise to myself that it would be an auction build and not a play toy and after seeing that black to red shift over a black base it's like it was calling out to me that would be perfect for the F100 just not with a rustoleum base because of the type of build it's for But yeah we can definitely link up and I can send you some progress pictures of the build once I finish the S10 and start on the F100 or whatever I had been turning the idea in my head to start a TH-cam channel to showcase my work and do some how to videos but being a 1 man operation I'm scared trying to do the TH-cam stuff would just slow me down even more and take away from the quality of work I try to put out
I'd call it "Panther" very nice color. I'd definitely paint my Trans am or mustang with this. Hope we can buy it soon! I thought I was set on Aztec purple too 😅

This is the color iv been looking for to do my bagged ek in. This over black is perfect. They got great colors on their website just nothing iv been 100% on yet. Still trying to learn so if i were to do this with inner coat then clear over how many gallons of clear would i need for an ek civic sedan?
