Great video. I have binged watch your channel the past few days. Because of you, I have the confidence to paint with pearls. I will be laying down some @EyeCandyPigments Macaw Blue Green today. I will make a video to share with you. Thanks for sharing your painting tips.
I've got a 2004 VW Passat GL Wagon with paint code: LD5Q (aka shadow blue metallic with a small amount of metallic flake added). I love the original paint, but the previous owner had left it outside on the street where kids had literally keyed every panel down to metal in spots. I've done what I could to save it, but after 20 years. It's time. For the last 3 years, I've been taking it to car shows. Each year, people have seen the improvements and restoration on this rare underdog vehicle. Gonna be gathering up material this winter in order to get the ball rolling next spring/summer. Really looking forward to it. 🙃
That color is gorgeous, it is better than I expected. I can 't wait until the weather cooperates enough to paint my car. Do you mind if I tag you in my video?
Hey GT great videos, keep up the good work. Thank you for your willingness to try new things. My brother has a 2000 Toyota tundra what do you think of him painting it black and using Eye Candy “Aoi Hi Blue" to paint over the black? It maybe the Eye Candy gray?
I just bought one off of your recommendations,The spectrum HTE thanks ,Seems like it’s pretty straightforward gun,Thank you,I also bought the Nikon blue Eye 🍭
Another great example of the Nokon Blue. Two questions. Type of scale you are using and could you describe the video and audio equipment you are using?
The first color from your last video. Reminds me of Chevy indigo blue from the early 90. Which is the color of my truck I'm looking to repaint. I'm going to do the black Rust-Oleum with that flake. To get that dark blue color.. the second color. The one you did today makes me think of cobalt blue. Both very nice colors 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤠🤠👍👍👍👍👍👍 does it matter if you spray it over gloss vs flat black. Or not because you scuff the surface first. I just started learning to paint last year from videos like yours. Trying to do it cheap and use stuff you can grab at any place. Like the Rust-Oleum. I like the inter-coat idea. And can't wait to see that video. I do construction by trade. I like your fender rack. Would like to know a little about it. I want to build one from wood. But probably go with steel and on rollers. I just started learning to mig weld last summer too. And a fender/ door rack. Would be a fun project to build and paint. Awesome video. Keep them rolling 🤩🤩🤩🤩😎😎😎😎😎
An amount of pearls in between the dark spray and this one or less layers of pearls. I had an S10 that color. I think you could get close to that! Goodluck!
My favorite is a tiny bit of violet pearl over black. Just beautiful. I had to retire from custom work. But if I could, I'd cut wavy crazy lines on paper. Alternate pearl colors over white. Until I got panels (say..on a low rider) to look exactly like abalone inlays. That would work good with say, inside 1/2 inch pinstripes, then put thin lines staggered every 2 inches so it looks like seperate mother of pearl inlays. That'd be a good seller.
Lovin the channel bro, Can you do a vid of what different color flakes look like under different candy"s? Thanks! Also bud where can i find that little mixer you are using? Thanks again!
Ive been meaning to experiment with adding a purple pearl to black to have a purple sheen in direct light, but stay black most of the time. Is this possible while getting a consistent pearl? Seems like the pearl takes over in very small quantities.
I am curious if you even need to lay down a base coat before you lay the inner coat. If you use either a gray or black sealer coat before the inner coat on a full coverage use like this, wouldn’t that work too? I’m not experienced with paint work, but I am learning, and I’m looking to do a paint job on a budget for a couple of trucks that I have. Not spraying the black base coat between a black seal coat and the inner coat would save some money.
I just got my jar of nokon blue today, I want to replicate your mix but im also adding just a hint of colorshift to it as well. I'm going to play with combinations before committing, but it sounds like 9g pigment per 10oz clear and 4 coats? Waa that your mix and application here?
So just to be clear, you paint the base, then clear with pigment then just clear? I watched some of your other videos and I thought it was base and pigment and clear and that’s it.
@@davidharrison8397 that’s what I was asking but some of his other videos looks like it’s just base with clear mixed with the pigment. So two step process,That’s why I am asking.
This would apply if you already have a black car and are looking to change color on a budget: Option 1: If the budget allows, get an intercoat kit, a clearcoat kit, and your choice of pigments. sand the original clearcoat, add pigment in the intercoat and spray, and then spray clearcoat. Option 2: the budget option. Get a clearcoat kit and your choice of pigments. Sand the original clearcoat, add pigment in clearcoat, and re-clear. If your car is any other color than black, you should choose a pigment close to the color of the base. Or ,you can change the base color and then continue with intercoat/clearcoat

I think I will have to update our usage page of the amounts because I don't think people would need more than 50 per gallon. Thanks again!!
The Nokon blue is off the chain! Of course, midnight blues and greens are my favorite! Great job brother!
that’s beautiful nice job😂😎
I would like to see a darker blue than the Nokon blue. The panel looks great.

Another great example of the Nokon Blue. Two questions. Type of scale you are using and could you describe the video and audio equipment you are using?

Do you run the intercoat/or clear with pigment through a filter?
Beautiful color
Awesome color good job
I wish you would have left part of the fender. I’d love to have seen it side by side and cleared them together after.
Can you spray sunburst orange metalic base with ghost gold pearl.
Looks great

Did you say 21/2 turn s out on fluid from closed??
Yes! I have the spectrum hte 1.3, and normally, when I spray, I use 26 - 28 psi (regulator on the gun) to those 2 ½ turns of fluid - from closed
That’s awesome
can you please spray, torch red/victory red with pigment!
So just to be clear, you paint the base, then clear with pigment then just clear? I watched some of your other videos and I thought it was base and pigment and clear and that’s it.
He's painting base....then pearl in intercoat clear...then regular clear
