Lovely crisp sounding exhaust note, clean as breaking glass. I'm sure you'll be able to get quite a bit more hp out of it too... but this would be great as a track day bike as it is.

I have both projects under way (OWK-6 YZR500 replica and an RGV500 1994 Replica) and I expect the RGV (660cc RGV barrelled) to be around the same HP as the RD (a 740cc ReSleeved Banshee-Barrelled re-port-timed hybrid) - but although the RGV will always be a lighter race replica by some few kilos, The RD740 will have gob-loads more midrange torque (road rideability?) So I can sit on both sides of the fence and happily watch each side bicker and squabble - lol. Just to ensure my neutrality I also own 4-strokes - In fact I'm currently building an RC30 (bored to 840cc) Which I'm planning on Fuel-injecting with Microsquirt and Gixxer carbs a'la Thorsten Durbahn, and cams/crank/timings & Zeeltronic ignitions are set up and mapped, we're installing a totally bespoke ground up designed Rotrex Super-charger and plenum setup. I've no kids, no mortgage to speak of, and am enjoying my mid-life (absolutely NO crisis here) - ROTFL. Enjoy and appreciate everyone's work here and on the forums - inspiration for all.
Beautiful and I'm liking the street fighter treatment. I wish we could buy these still. I wouldn't hesitate to liberate a new one from the showroom floor.
How do you deal with the increased cylinder and piston temps due to the higher power output? I’ve been building a bunch of high rpm tuned 2 strokes but feel like I need to increase my cooling fin area or fan air flow (in forced air cooling motors) to compensate for the increased power output (and inherently heat output). I see lots of ppl on YT with highly tuned air cooled engines but not sure if they just run their engines in short bursts to prevent overheating. Thx!
It´s not a hazmat face shield it´s a cascade fed BA mask... When you do this for a living, you don´t wanna be breathing the exhaust most of your day do ya?

Getting close to my old H2, 120hp (claimed) king cobra motor. Porting, expansion chambers, kn dyno kit carb jetting. Miss the two strokes.....

Really should pull in the clutch on deceleration or at least blip the throttle so the piston doesn’t run hot from fuel starvation

Yeah seems pretty tame when full race 500s if that same era made 200 plus. 120 should be easy for 500cc 2 stroke 4 cyl.
