Another excellent video. I wish I could test more battlemages, I enjoy the idea you can focus more on their increased attack although I always preferred their other variant. Honestly the battlemages would be the only expansion variant I did use from the expansions, for academy in my opinion the OG upgrades for then seems alot more useful. ^^ Great video.
Thank you. I had a look through the original version of the troops and yeah, looks like most people agree that the variant upgrades for Academy was not very useful most of the time. I haven't gotten around to using the battle mages yet. Most of the time, archmages are just better in most situations so it's going to be fun to see how well they perform.
The battlemages' gimmick is that they don't damage your own units with their projectiles if they are right next to/in front of them. You probably figured this out already, I just thought I'd mentioned it to be safe. Normally you'd put them behind gargoyles or golems, but the elemental gargoyles are explicitly bad for this because of their weakness aura, and you haven't really been using golems, so it's not like you have had too many things to put in front of them for protection yet. In any case, they look cool
That makes a lot of sense. I have to say, the description of their ability does not explain what it does at all so thank you for clearing that up. I hope to get the golems going soon. If I just can find the artificial glory skill.
@@Parrexion no worries, I think you've been on a very nice growth curve with your army so far. Academy is very expensive, so it's a good call to ignore the golems until you get their perks. Nicely done
