The Basics - Chance & Community Chest. (Monopoly)

Both sets of cards can either help you when you need it, or do bad things to you at the worst possible time. Some people think both stacks of cards can make or break a game of Monopoly for a player, but I disagree. Today's episode will focus on my thoughts regarding Chance and Community Chest cards.

I've seen those cards bankrupt a player, forcing their properties into auction, which is a mess compared to your opponent breaking on your properties. I've even seen a $15 tax break a player. Rare, but it happens. If all 4 railroads are owned, that can be a $400 hit, so they are nothing to scoff at.

When I was younger, a misconception we had is that it applied to EVERYONE'S houses, paid by whoever drew it. It wasn't until we got older that we realized it only applied to YOUR houses
