I totally understand Randy needing time off and him putting up these classic/revisit episodes. I would just like to know the original date for the video. It makes for an interesting pricing comparison over time. Seeing Tim and the WB mention is a pretty good clue as to the age range, but a date in the description would be nice. I hope you are having a great vacation. looking forward to all the new content when you return.

I drive a CX-5, seeing it hold up THAT well to that bad of a crash, is very reassuring
I'm guessing the on/off is a center diff lock, which raises your traction from AWD (4x the worst wheel) to 4WD (2x the worst front wheel, plus 2x the worst rear wheel). Then on each axle, if either (or both) has a locker or limited slip, you can get the full traction of both wheels on that axle. So, if you have locking front, center, and rear lockers, you have maximum traction with all 4 wheels rotating at the same speed, regardless of which ones are slipping or are on ice or not even touching the ground.
A transfer case can also perform the same function as locking a center diff. Most transfer cases just lack the ability to open a center diff to give AWD.

The Ford On/Off switch is for locking differential.
Pro Tip: If you want or need to check the transmission fluid in a 2009 to 2014 F150, here's what you do:
1) Grab an appropriately sized box wrench (3/4 or 19mm? I forget).
2) Crawl underneath the passenger side.
3) Locate a bolt that is pointing in the general driection of an old dipstick tube in the transmission.
4) Remove the bolt you located. The bolt is your transmission's dipstick!
Worst design ever. My 2008 Expedition is like that and that dipstick is right next to the cat. To get an accurate reading, you need to get the transmission to operating temp. So you risk 3rd degree burns to check the transmission fluid level.
3/4 inch is 19.05mm, so it is unlikely that a 19mm wrench and 3/4 inch wrench aren't actually identical, with the difference between them being just under 0.002 inches. Probably made on the same machine and just stamped differently.

I had 1996 Plymouth Neon bought it used when it was 4 years old and at the time it had like 44,000 miles on it.
I owned that car until fall of 2023 so I ended up owning and driving it for 23 years. In the entire 23 years I owned the car it I only put 76,000 miles on it and at the time I got rid of it only had 120,000 miles on the car. Engine started over heating like crazy no error codes and it was just not worth fixing it in my book. Plus the fact I live in the rust belt and car been outside for the 23 years I owned it.
While the car was decent looking for it's age at the time I got rid of it. But the fact the engine was having issues and the fact I found quite a bit of rot under the car just in front of the right rear tire. Make it clear to me it was time to let the car go I owned it for 23 years I got my use out of it I think.
I love the Chevy truck with no Fender or grill & Bumper. Sounds like it runs great. I like the Volvo wagon too

It pretty much was. It was a car WB was working on of Randy’s. They had a disagreement about it and some other things. It had got pretty bad
Think the only problem with the Chevrolet bolt is there was a recall on the batteries because of fires and I’d be wondering if the battery had been replaced on that one and I just heard a rumor that the Chevy bolts that were fixed may have another recall once again for battery fires.

That Hyundai may actually be a genesis, which is their luxury division.
The equus is branded as a hyundai but its the same car as the genesis sedan of the time. Only difference is that all the equus' had the 4.6 or 5.0 v8 where as the genesis sedan could have a v6.

Always a risk buying a GM truck with that many miles. With their "lifetime" transmission fluid at 163K miles it is at or near the death point of them. Unless the prior owner made sure to change it.
