Building a Yamaha Virago Cafe Racer for under €1,300

The Project that you can see on this video, is one of the most unbelievable machines I ever presented on this Channel.
I baptized it, as low cost cafe racer.
But it is much more than that.
Because comparing it with all the Yamaha Virago TR-1 projects I've seen so far, this one, is truly original, including a loads of personality.
This Yamaha, was baptized as Punisher.
It was built in Sweden, by Peter Ojanperä, the founder of Starholk Cycles.
I am sure you will like it.

I can not say anything about the aesthetics of the project, but it is something original and unique. But the creativity and resilience to face something like this in the midst of unemployment is inspiring and is very close to my preferences for almost anything: imagination over budget. It is truly a project and video that you have to watch several times because it implies a variety of approaches to solve technical problems that we all have when we decide to do something different, complex and that has all the possibilities of failing, but it is human intelligence and will that bring something forward. No pongo en duda el duro trabajo, ni le quito mérito. De hecho es única. Pero si pongo en duda la funcionalidad como vehículo... No tiene nada que ver lo uno con lo otro. Y como dice el refrán, palos agusto no duelen... Debe de doler más ir sobre tacones de aguja y muchas los usan para mostrarse más espléndidas, aunque les pueda producir una deformación permanente en los pies. Un saludo, no te lo tomes a mal, pues solo hacía el comentario por ponerle algo de gracia.

Very much respect for this build as I built my cafe In a very 8x10 shed it takes alot of commitment to pull off a show quality bike with only the basics at your disposal and a shoestring budget ,makes it that much more satisfying when you ride it

It’s great to see people getting out into their sheds to have a go at being creative. I had friends who would use a pillar drill as a lathe. Others would use any object they could find in their junk to make a project work. All it takes is a little imagination and some determination and masterpieces can be created.

Nothing less than a great admiration to this project and his creator. Yes you can see a low budget, but you can also see a huge knowledge of engineering involved seeing video a few times and paying attention to the mechanical details. Beautiful discovery Victor, as always.

What a beautifull bike. And of all the TR1/Virago projects I have seen, this one has the best exhaust. Many others, in my oppinion, tend to look like a plumbers nightmare.. Thanks for showing it, I realy like it.

I think round form of fueltank isnt good to other forms.. imho but using only 3 instruments for build will be inspiration for jung builders who have almost nothing in garage but have dream and shining eyes that see forcoming project

I use this "robotic" voice created by software, because I'm Portuguese, and my bad English accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that I like for my videos. I already tried a real British voice in one of my videos, and, surprisingly, almost everyone hated it. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds really very real and professional for most non-English Speakers.:) Cheers.

Well this is very well done project, but 1300 Euro is not true at all, no matter what others can say about it. O build bikes on an old school base and realistically would say it is impossible, or you can finance it from your pocket. Other than that, great job. BRAVO.
