Very informative living in Florida about 1 hr from Miami Cruiseport I take the palm beach tri -rail train to Miami airport train station and then take Uber or cab to the port

Here is a tip to save some money if flying in to Miami and you’re sailing out of Fort Lauderdale or vice versa, there is tri rail that runs between the two airports, very inexpensive and that will get you closer to your port city.

Everyone of these so called know it all always forgets about tri rail. And I do believe when the new train starts running from Orlando, they will have a shuttle taking you to the cruise terminal

Miami is my favorite cruise port. I always stay the night before at the Hilton Miami Airport Hotel. For my next cruise, I booked the EB Hotel Miami Airport instead. The pictures of their rooms looks amazing! My last cruise was a B2B on the Carnival Celebration. I'm booked for another B2B on the Celebration this winter. Thanks for the tip on booking each flight separately, I will try that.

We usually rent a car (one-way) but really like the freedom to travel around outside the downtown area. With this mobility we usually stay at the Rodeway Inn in Coral Gables / South Miami just past University of Miami. There is also a train Station right there if one wanted to travel this way as well, lots of restaurants, shopping and pharmacies / grocery stores. Being away from the downtown drops the price. When flying into FLL and cruising from Port Miami we generally will get a spot in Hollywood and also save some money.

If you can do it, snagging a credit card that gives flight reward points is a HUGE money saver. A lot of them offer 30-50,000 bonus points if you spend X amount of dollars on the card over the first 90 days or so. If you filter your monthly bills through the card and then pay it off right away for the points...you rack up plenty of points real quick. We just snagged two tickets from Ohio to Miami for a grand total of $22! Not too shabby!

Question. Sharon since you're the Queen of research I thought you might know. I use to live in Miami and know it and love it since Coral Gables High. Been on Three cruises out of Port of Miami, so easy. Booked on Wonder in December. Best friends live in Miami so staying there. The one thing that's changed are the trains. Can you take a train from Miami to Port Canaveral the morning of the cruise or would be cheaper to drive and park for $150. Thank you for any knowledge and I love your videos.

I think Brightline runs from Miami to Orlando but I do not think there are any stops after West Palm Beach. The Brightline station is at Terminal C of the MCO airport. Possibly train to there and shuttle to the port? Not sure if there will be any stations built out closer to the Space Coast or not. I do know there are extending eventually to Tampa from MCO.
