Kawasaki z1000SX Decat exhaust upgrade

  • In this video I removed the catalytic unit from my motorbike, I chose to do this because of the excessive heat it creates. I did put the silencers back into the pipe, otherwise its really loud.

    Nice just found this video its very cool but one question do the OEM hexaust fit on this Y pipe ? because i like the look with original hexaust pipe

    Great video, I have the same bike and trying to make it louder, do I need to flash the ECU or remap the fuel in Power Commander after installing this decat mod? Does this mod affect the engine since there is less backpressure in the exhaust system?

      I would recommend get the ECU flashed. They will delete the O2 sensors and some other tweaks to get the full horsepower.

    I put a lextek 4 into 1 on mine with a black widow can. Sounds really aggressive.

      Yes, there is a slightly better response. I actually forgot to include in the video that there is a filter element further on in the pipe you have to remove to truly get an open pipe system. I did just that, there's more noise, the bike feels stronger and definitely reacts more aggressive

      Nope, just be sure to keep the sensor intact.

    Did you notice the bike pulling better, i heard you get better airflow, which results in more hp gane and better pull? Good job

      exhaust paste, the decat comes with a slip on clamp system

    So I'm half way through doign this. I cut ion the same place but inside the downpipe side that I'm keeping there is a lot of honey comb baffle inside the exhaust. Did you remove this?

      Yep that’s normal, going towards the header there’s still filter element in the pipe. This you have to remove with a chisel/hammer, a drill or anything that can break the honeycomb structure without damaging the pipe.
      It’s pretty cooked in there so it can be a bit tedious to get it out, take your time!
      (Of course you should have the entire exhaust removed from the bike when doing this so that you don’t trap debris inside)

      Check out Dominator, they are situated in Poland. The middle pipes are solid and won’t disappoint!

      In Netherlands there is no MOT. But if there’s one I would fail. The Cat is a filter for the exhaust gasses, without it pollutes more.

      @@MrOkiparker Did the UK get rid of the MOT when they left the EU? In Ireland there isn't any yearly inspections at all.
