    Remember the days where the only technique tutorials you could find online were on "ultra-smooth blends"? Those days are gone, thankfully! The Dawn of the Age of Texture is upon You! Mini painters rejoice!

    • @StarFyreXXX
      @StarFyreXXX 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      well, its not really gone. it depends on what you are doing. NMM works still require the smoothness for blends for that ideal look. for painted texture, if you can, look at the patreon for Bohun's works. insane. and he uses his drybrushing technique for lots of the models.

    What a great looking final paint job! The lightened cracks really look great, and I love the hairy ears too!

    Stunning. Loved the idea of tufts. Shame you didn't capture the filming of the mushroom on the top. That's stunning.

    This was great! I recently picked up makeup brushes as well. Thankfully... my wife had a ton she never used, hah. Mainly have only tried it for dry-brushing, but will definitely give it a go for stippling. Great tips!

    Nice job, very colorful yet not overwhelming. Though one note, i think some of the mushrooms on the body are actually Barnacles as iirc Troggoths live largely aquatic lives in brackish swampy waters. Also they like to attack ships and/or loot sunken ones and take trophies like the canon on its chest.

    Awesome video! Thank you, sir! I had just purchased my Troggoth and didn't know where to begin but you've inspired me. Where do you get your glazes? I've purchased a Vallejo Glaze medium but haven't a clue on how to use it with my GW paints.

    Boy oh boy I wish my painting skills were only half this good. It would appear i haven't been painting correctly, a lot of times the paint is watered down, mine goes straight on from the pot. I still have a lot to learn

    Dankhold is just a damp, mushroom filled cave full of trolls, I mean troggoths (I really don't). Btw, when will you link the pony tutorial you did for Heroforge?

  • @aleccap5946
    @aleccap5946 ปีที่แล้ว

    I buy, paint, sell to fund other models, with the spare parts left over, i build a diorama base with half of this figure coming out of the ground, while the main figure stood in grass, mushrooms, and rocks, it looked good, and painting these is not easy

    Me: "Cool mini! Might have to look that one up..."
    Also Me: (sees price) "FUCK YOU Games Workshop. FUCK. YOU".
    ..
    I can not WAIT for the day when 3d home printing is cheap enough and good enough that I can print GW mini's for 9¢ each...14¢ for the Trolls. :)

    Pretty sure those are barnacles Doc.

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can be. It's just that puffball mushrooms fit more thematically with all of the other Gloomspite stuff. Just seems weird having barnacles on a cave troll.

    • @TheRunesmythe
      @TheRunesmythe 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not unless this guy lives in saltwater, since that's the only environment barnacles live. Most likely its supposed to represent some sort of mold or fungus, possibly some other sort of parasite.
