    As a person who has been following drifting, what seems like my whole life, it is very obvious to see Irish drifting definetly has come on so so much over the years. We have been gifted so many stand out events to witness and so many top drivers that have come through our national series and wowed us. What ever opinion you may have of Dave and his team you cannot turn a blind eye to what he and his people around him have done for the sport in Ireland and in Europe. Its actually so appalling to see people who do not contrabute to the sport and bring nothing but negativity, to go and try knock the people that have dedicated so much of their personal time to make drifting in this country the best it can be. These people at the end of the day are still watching it, and must like it to watch it, and then go make comments like that. Where is the sense in that? Irish drifting wouldnt exsist if it wasnt for fans. You cant run an event with the fans and yes money from tickets. Buying a ticket is funding the sport. Sitting at home being a keyboard warrior is just reversing the progress of the sport. If you are a proper fan, try go to events or if you cant,then make sure to reassure the people behind the scenes their efforts havent gone un noticed. Im delighted the new IDS wont have livestreams because the gobshites that cant shut their mouths will be without a voice and the people who are at the events who care can focus on the future of the sport. Well done Dave, you have made Irish drifting what it is today. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

    There is a huge debt owed to Dave Egan and his team for delivering a world-class drift competition in Ireland. They often are accused of making huge amounts of money or ripping drivers and fans off but nothing can be further from the truth. Dave is honest in this episode about how deeply he has been hurt by negative comments made against him personally when he and his team have worked into the night and on a shoestring budget to deliver a world-class event week after week, month after month. As a sponsor, LinkECU knows that it is a genuine love for the sport, the drivers and the families that motivates Dave and his team every week. But we also know the financial and operational stress that is ever-present for them. When you see the wonderful careers that have been build on Dave's vision, James Deane, Jack and Conor Shanahan, Dean Kearney, Duane McKeever, Alan Hyne...and the list goes on, you can see how positive the impact he and his team has had on the sport of Drifting worldwide.

      Thank you so much for your consistent support over the years Andy. Drift Games wouldn't be where we are today without Link ECU and your unrivalled support of our crazy ideas!

    Actually quite sad watching that episode and seeing dave and hearing how much that first round and comments took out of the team. It's not a nice feeling and no one can understand what it's like to run a business until you've done. You have no life. I attended every round last year of extreme by myself and as a girl it was hard but I'm glad I did. You dont need to apologise dave for your comment. I dont understand how people think tickets are expensive when you consider what you get. €20 -€25 a ticket for a days entertainment and action and being able to walk around pits and meet drivers , people spend €20 on a cinema ticket, bag of popcorn and a coke for a max 2hours entertainment. I just dont get it. Dave and the lads keep your heads up. You do an amazing and extremely tough job. I'm loving the content of these episodes

    That was phenomenal its annoying to see Dave annoyed that much by haters because none of the haters even 98%of the drift community wouldn't have the guts and will to do what Dave and the Drift Games Team has done over the past 6-7 years in the Irish scene and I take my hat of for you all Legends👏👏👏🇮🇪💚

    Great work guys, as said you guys have put Irish drifting seriously on the map. As for the negative comments, take zero notice (we all know people are way to quick to jump onto the attack, especially when they havent put the hard work in). Great work, and cant wait to your next events as we'd love to be there

    Lads, first time watching any of the Drift Games work. Really impressed! Only really came across you lads pretty recently but since seeing what you guys are up to, the IG updates, watching videos and then getting some HSE Superheroes stickers - you're doing some top work for representing the Irish drift scene and the irish car enthusiast! Videography is unreal and well put together! Hope to eventually get to a show once Corona has done one and f'd off! 👍

    Dood watching this is eye opening. I had to comment man, as a grass roots level skidder who's never been interested in drift competitions and not even aware of the level of GB drifting, only building and driving RWD cars, your the reason I watch comps!
    I first was introduced to your unique style when you took over the BDC, I'd never seen anything like it, your passion combined with a clearly excellent team of crew and judges and presentation of what is an incredibly complicated sport was off the chain. Even Nathan was a breath of fresh air and never failed to make me smile, even if it was because he was being a twat.
    For me its seemed drifting needed someone to stand on top of a hill made from tyre shards and broken E36 parts and make some serious noise to reprasent the dedication and passion and sheer crazyness displayed by so many in the sport, and the way you presented that in an informative and entertaining way to both Live Streams and at the events is next level good.
    Fan for life here man. Fan for life.

    Really good episode with Dave laying it all out.he was at the cold face of it.had to run it and make financial commitments. Will always find keyboard warriors who want to put people down but what dave and his team have done over the years has gotten more and more people into the sport.My kids have been going since they were in buggies and now want their own cars when they get older.

    People complain attendong a round as a spectator is expensive, is bullshit considering how much people pay to go to an all ireland final or to go see a concert
    These rounds happen once a month for about 5 months
    Take the money that you would piss up against the wall drinking shots and put it in your pocket instead you would have plenty of money
    Dave Egan is nothing but a gentleman and a legend everytime I seen him he always took time to say hello
    Him and his time pushed the competition scene in Ireland well up into professional ranks that it is far more interesting then many other drift series
    All I say is Dave if you do read this pat yourself on your back you done a fantastic job and nearly killed yourself doing so and it's a pity you arent doing the competitions but nice to see you are back driving again and get to relax and have fun

    There is a cost for everything, nothing in life is free. It's a shame to see the emotional toll carried trying to produce a show way beyond normal aspirations/expectations in Ireland. We've a small little population, even more niche when considering motorsport, let alone drifting. The margins are so tight, I honestly don't know how you guys managed to generate such hype and consistently produce such high quality productions for as long as you did. Fair play to yee for even trying to elevate the sport beyond what most others couldn't dream of doing. I'm certainly looking forward to a post-covid schedule of events to attend. Can't wait to see what new events mark my calendar once this covid madness is over. Quick suggestion for ideal prank show, could work for dealing with some keyboard warriors, check out "Sentosha: Battle Wheels" on Amazon for a bit of mindless entertainment.

    How could you dislike that video?

  • @kirmy1
    @kirmy1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Damn, the bit about the negative comments got me really annoyed. I thought perhaps I was one of the "keyboard warriors" Dave was talking about, with a negative comment here or there about a particular judgement or something maybe the judges said that didnt make sense to what I saw. But reading the comments put up on the screen made me realise that theres a difference between criticism (wrongly or rightly made) and just trolling/unecessary personal attacks. I would expect a certain level of criticism due to fans having a certain driver they root for or team, but saying somebody is scamming people out of their money or personally attacking someone is just plain wrong. I can see now why Dave lost his interest in running the series if this is what he had to deal with. Ill never forget my experience hopping on a ferry to bring my Evo over to Mondello for round 6 of DMEC last year, it was so awesome, Zigen events for me are a cut above every other drift series and I hope that in future maybe he will branch back out and get involved somehow with BDC and IDS as his experience is invaluable.

    • @kirmy1
      @kirmy1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I was one of the people who couldnt make it to the event due to being in another country, however I knew what he was trying to say, and I totally agreed with what he was saying, if you dont like what you see on the livestream its very easy to switch it off!

    • @driftgames_life
      @driftgames_life  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You seem to have picked up Dave's points well Mike, and we can assure you that trolling comments weren't the only reason Dave decided to step back. We think his point of highlighting them is to warn people that there are consequences to their actions and if people push too far, things break. For future events, the drift community should be more active in shutting these trolls down to stop online bullying being the focus of livestreams.
