This is what I needed last weekend! My boat crapped out (low battery cutoff in the esc ) in the middle of a large body of water. Low winds, so I had to wait an hour for it to finally float into shore. I have the “beeping” low voltage alarm plugin, but when it’s inside the hull of the boat, it’s hard to hear it going off. Need to build a rescue boat I guess.
i use this same volt sensor. I love it. I have it hard wired and permanent on the main battery cables and tucked nice and neat inside the receiver box. Such an awesome little unit.
First time I saw one I thought so how do you charge it but the charge lead has 2 4 or 5 mm plugs and a 2 mm connection for the balance lead in the centre :) then you remove it when it's charged the battery I'm using is a orion 5800 hi voltage lipo 120c there 7.6v
That's really great. 20Y ago I had to stop and measure the temp - I had an infrared thermometer which I found super cool. Naturally this is much easier to setup and use. I am considering making the best of this on my Traxxas TRX4 Defender but am not sure as to which sensors would be useful. Most of the time I crawl indoors and sometimes I like to trail. Would you use any sensors in this type of usage? Thank you.
For crawling the external voltage monitoring is handy as the battery last so long and you don't get a lot of voltage drop as your not hard accelerating like with some other rc's so lvc takes a while to kick in, motor temp can also be helpful just as a fail safe in case something is binding up and you don't realise you will see the motor temps start to rise and can stop and take a look at the drive train rather than the motor get burnt out :)
Hi m8 love the videos the voltage sensor could I solder a 4s balance plug on it instead of using the pins it comes with and plug into the balance lead on my lipos
Hi there. Really appreciate your videos. Any idea if the Nobel Nb4 with the smaller FGr4S V2 receiver can handle temperature telemetry? Or is it only the larger receiver with the antenna (FGr4 v2) that works with telemetry?
I have a Traxxas Slash Ultimate, I just switched the receiver to a Flysky FGR4. The Ultimate already comes prewired for a temp and speed connection. Each one has its own connector. Can you advise me as to what channel to connect them to set them up?
I’ve watched all of your videos on this radio set up. I have the FGR8B, haven’t updated it yet. My question is what port will I assign and/or use for my Flysky telemetry sensors? I greatly appreciate your time.
Once you update the nb4 and fgr8b you will have an option to set for example ch8 to be a channel or ibus for telemetry, you also have a dedicated external voltage port to use the voltage sensor that came with the fgr8b :)
Oh that’s good news, I appreciate it. I probably won’t be using the external voltage detection right away. I really couldn’t get my mind around some of the warnings of what to do and not do with it. I’ve been satisfied with the FS-CVT01 (voltage detection) and FS-CTM01 (temp). Will there be any conflict running the CVT01 and the BDV wiring at the same time? Thank you again!! 👍🏻
You should only need the included voltage detection lead as the receiver will give you bec voltage and the external one will read the main lipo :) I do have a vid on it and how to use it in the playlist :)
@@WTFRCCars just watched your video that you linked. Have to say thanks again, cleared that up for me. I don’t know how I missed that video earlier on.
Maybe you've answered this in another video. If so, please link it. I have yet to find it. Question: Is it possible to run a couple of external fans through the FlySky FGr4 V2 receiver without an external BEC, or additional battery. I'm only running 2 channels (servo and ESC). The fans need 6-8.4v. I'm using a Max5 ESC and have set it to 7.4v for the "BEC" but am unsure if that only works over a single channel, or all of them. (Don't want to muck about with my volt meter as I may just cross pins and cause a problem) Seems it would just set them all to 7.4v but it doesn't say. The FGr4 V2 shows 3.5 - 12v so I'd assume it will work. Is this set via the Noble (can't find it if so) or is the ESC BEC setting handling all of it? Another odd thing is the servo doesn't work on the servo port on the FGr4!? It needs to be in channel 2 port to work. Seems odd to label something for a function it doesn't actually do. Thanks again for your help. Trying to get the last few flys out of the grease.
Is the "sens" port for telemetry, or would this "servo" port work for that? Now I'm looking at a voltage and temp setup. You've got me going deep into this system now. lol
Hi, I was wondering if you can use this with other types of telemetry, like castle mamba x , I have this setup on futaba and I was wondering if it could be made made to work on this system? Thanks
I just nb4 with 4GR4P receiver and I can't get sensors to display on transmitter. Also what ever sensor I plug into the next has flashing led but when just 1 sensor is plugged in led is steady red but when I try to daisy it flashes. Should I have bound the receiver in enhanced instead of classic not sure what I didn't do right?
@@WTFRCCars actually I just finally got it to work. I re updated receiver then set rx setting from ibus to sensor snd I finally got the voltage & temp gauge to work
Hi m8 took my kraton 4s v2 out today for its first run I fitted a few nb4 sensors to it. My question is I zip tied the temp sensor to the motor can next ti the heat sink at the drive end the sensor was reading 50c but the motor was way hotter then 50c when touched any suggestions m8
The sensors and receivers all support 8.4v input so direct 2s lipo the fgr4 receiver can run upto 12v so can the dm racing receiver for the nb4, but sensors max 8.4v
Another question, I’ve been trying to figure out how to get a break light to activate when the breaks are applied. Say you have a light in ch5, is there some combination of mixes and using the high side and low side effects? I really would like to know more about mixes, never had a transmitter that could do this much. 👍🏻
Hi, I get mine from AliExpress but rcmodelz in UK also stock them now, there all very cheap think the most expensive I have paid is £8 delivered most are around £4 - £6
You have the best fly sky ground radio content and tutorials. Keep ‘‘em coming.
Thanks 👍

Yeh been very happy with it so far
This is great info. I want a speed sensor for my drag car. Your rig looks fantastic.
Thanks, from trying different set ups for the speed the spur gear is the easiest way to get a good reading :)
I've always got the voltage value by plugging the probes in the balance lead on lipos.
Hi racing shorty packs don't have balance leads on them so ya have to use the main power leads
@@WTFRCCars Thanks I just never knew you could for a moment there I thought you were using old school batteries ha

Very interesting! Can the NB4 work with any esc to adjust settings remotely?
This is not adjusting anything in the ESC
@@WTFRCCars it does not have that capability with any esc?
Depends on the esc, if the esc has a control channel then the nb4 can control that like any transmitter.
Hey buddy is that temperature sensor the ct-mo1. And how do you get that kind of info i really appreciate your channel thanks.
Yeh it is
What is the best method for attaching the temp sensor to a 1/10 buggy electric motor?
Zip tie and thermal pad will hold it in place and get a better reading of the temp :)

Hi m8 love the videos the voltage sensor could I solder a 4s balance plug on it instead of using the pins it comes with and plug into the balance lead on my lipos
Yeh that would work fine but does limit it to only 4s lipos but if it's staying on the same RC that won't matter :)
Thanks for the reply 👍
No worries 😁
Hi there. Really appreciate your videos. Any idea if the Nobel Nb4 with the smaller FGr4S V2 receiver can handle temperature telemetry? Or is it only the larger receiver with the antenna (FGr4 v2) that works with telemetry?
All the nb4 receivers can run telemetry
That was my question too. Thank you
I have vids covering how to set telemetry on most of the receivers if you need one I don't have covered yet let me know and I'll make a vid :)

So the fgr4 servo port is for the option 4 extra channel add-on :)
As for your fans, all the + and - on receivers are directly connected so what ever you bec is giving out goes to all the + and - :)

Use some thermal paste to make sure the sensor is getting all the heat transferred to it :)
Yeah makes sense what about a thermal pad top and bottom of the sensor
Yeh anything that will transfer the heat to the sensor :)
Did you say this sensor will work with any of the three receivers? They don’t all have a “sensor “ port
Yeh any nb4 or pro receivers as they all have the option to set a Ch to ibus

Hi, Is it possible that temp sensor vil activate 1 channel where i have fan conntected. så it will auto turn on/off?
No the temp sensor will only show the temperature on the screen of the nb4 or pro it can not control a channel.
Does the sensor input voltage support up to 7.4V ? Since my esc have bec option uo to that voltage.
The sensors and receivers all support 8.4v input so direct 2s lipo the fgr4 receiver can run upto 12v so can the dm racing receiver for the nb4, but sensors max 8.4v
