    This is a trip on Link light rail northbound from the southern terminus at Angle Lake to the (new) northern terminus at Northgate. The train for this trip was a Series 2 Siemens S700. In a few years, this line will be extended to Lynnwood in the north and Federal Way in the south and I'll need to make a new video. Until then, enjoy!

    As a New Yorker, the 1 bullet on the Link system being green and not red really caught me offguard

    13:48 that pause annoys me. All trains do it, and it's just for some driveways that aren't much trafficked.
    14:34 that pause annoys me too, because there isn't much cross traffic there either.
    I think these are stops required of trains but not required of parallel road traffic :(

      Yeah not sure why they always do that. Maybe because it's toward one end of the street running portion it takes a while for the signal priority to register that the train is there? Not sure though. Definitely something ST and SDOT should look into fixing.

      They don't do the driveway stop now. New problem: slow running through SoDo (more timidness with level crossings), and southbound trains usually crawl from pioneer square into ID-Chinatown

      That area really needs to be grade separated than they can run even more frequent trains every 5 minutes

    Similar to what we have here in phx

      I doubt it's that similar Link is one of the highest ridership per mile light rail systems in the world

    They NEED to transform these lines into fully automated heavy rail.

      Tell that to the voters

    • @hobog
      @hobog ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DefineDeftutomated light metro w high frequency is better for Seattle, be like Lille or Rennes or like VanBC. We vote these projects in, and the results get watered down by WSDoT highway bias and ST putting parking instead of mixed use development *right next to* stations or construction has to be redone bc projects have a game of telephone (eg, the east link rails had to redo cross ties east out of Mercer Island).

      Heavy rail is a no but automation would be possible with grade separation in the Rainier Valley

      @durece100 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No need to build a heavy rail.
