Morning BNSF & Sounder Trains in Kent

2:57 - BNSF 6577 leads a southbound autorack.

East Link Starter Line Opening
มุมมอง 5K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
The first segment of Sound Transit's 2 Line is now open between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology! This new line features 8 new stations at Redmond Technology, Overlake Village, BelRed, Spring District, Wilburton, Bellevue Downtown, East Main, and South Bellevue. The line from Seattle to Overlake was approved by voters in 2008. Following a turbulent planning period, the project was set to o...

Here's an update to my previous T Line ride featuring the new Hilltop Tacoma Link Extension. The extension added 7 new stations and removed the old Theater District station, with Commerce Street being renamed to Theater District (confusing, I know). In the future, the line will be extended further to Tacoma Community College, currently anticipated to open sometime between 2039 and 2041. This vi...

I got there right as the first train was approaching so that's why it's an awkward shot through a chain link fence. 0:00 - BNSF 264 leads a northbound manifest with a B unit. 2:21 - BNSF 8330 leads a northbound coal train. 5:58 - BNSF 6544 leads a southbound manifest. 8:21 - Sounder N Line train 1702. 8:53 - Amtrak Empire Builder No. 8. 9:41 - Sounder N Line train 1706. I worked my way through the rush hour traffic just in time to get the J-WICINB with only a minute or two to spare. I then waited for the Empire Builder before heading home. 0:00 - BNSF 7499 leads a westbound fuselage train. 1:38 - Amtrak Empire Builder No. 8. Thanks for watching! Not much interesting other than a B unit on the H-LVJEVE. 0:00 - BNSF 6571 leads a southbound intermodal. 2:10 - Sounder N Line train 1702. 2:43 - Amtrak Empire Builder No. 8. 3:31 - BNSF 7985 leads a northbound oi...

I got unlucky and missed several other eastbounds so I made my way to Sultan for the Empire Builder, then promptly went home too early and missed a westbound stack train coming down from the pass (I'm so good at railfanning). Thanks for watching! Video taken August 3rd, 2023.

We were there too! Can’t wait for this to expand to Seattle
There's always someone speaking loud Spanish on Seattle transit
Hopefully the speeds get increased, otherwise this train is too slow
man these new trains look really nice, and they're really comfortable. I've always been a little critical about Sound Transit effectively stringing trams together for their rolling stock, but it gets the job done. I was worried it was going to limit speeds but they move quickly enough regardless. Great video, can't wait for the full line to open. I wonder what they'll do with the 550 bus when the bridge opens
what new trains? You do know these are the same trains as the 1 Line? And you really ought to know the difference between light rail, trams, streetcars, and the type of system Sound Transit builds out
Really great video and on the opposite end of Interstate 90 Massachusetts and Ohio Turnpike New York State Thruway from Seattle Washington lies the Boston Green Line its equivalent on the East Coast.
boston green line is a streetcar is it not?
@realquadmoo it is a street car too these are the B C & E Branches D Branch uses a converted railroad right of way.
@@EpicThe112 Link's not a streetcar
Nice to see the Kinki Sharyos also running on Line 2. I thought they would be exclusive to line 1.
FINALLY
I love the rain, I wish I lived in the Seattle area so that I could experience rain more often.
What stops you?
The opening of the remaining portion of line 2 is overdue....When I was visiting Seattle in 2022 it looked like all the infrastructure was in place.
Great video!
Yay! So happy it’s open. Thank you for the coverage
It will be cool to see the updated 1 Line video in August/September after Lynnwood opens.
Pretty cool. Glad to see it opened. Unfortunately until at least downtown Redmond is connected and then even more so once the downtown Seattle connection is complete, the ridership will be low.
Yeah but Sound Transit’s philosophy is that if something is ready to open it needs to be opened
Wait hold on a minute I was on 2 Line all day too
Well I’ll be darned you beat me to it.
so cool 👍
it is usa?
Yes.
thank you!
Yes US. Seattle Metro Area. Washington state.
Just look how packed it was for grand opening of line 2 6:58
Hello from Portland, Oregon.... where we have had an EXISTING light rail syste. For THIRTY YEARS 😂
Ours is Faster cause it doesn't run on the street (takes longer to build tho)
Haha great it’ll be nice to surpass your size :)
2:31 graphite Toyota Supra spotted, at the lower middle part of the screen, panning towards the lower right side as the train advances
imagine car spotting in a train video
Great video
🚊👍
1500 Volts of Direct Current supplied by Overhead so no need for heavy and expensive batteries, keeps the trains and nimble
Seattle residents check out Atlanta 's MARTA TRANSIT SYSTEM 🚇. SEATTLE TRANSIT NICE
Why did they make a train that only serves wealthy people? What about the vibrant POC communities in south Seattle? How will they have equitable access to the east side?
Southside to Federal Way will open up sometime in 2026. Last year they discovered unstable land around the 272nd area. They needed to go back and think of a solution and are building a 1 mile long bridge but it's still 2 years away. Also remember that money talks.
south seattle?? you main the area that has been served by light rail since 2009? lmao shut your mouth troll
Oh they tried really hard to not get this built. But a train to Microsoft needed to be built I guess.
Have you been living under a rock?
all public transportation in LA are open to everyone for free indeed 😂
I am from the ATL ATLANTA. YOU all have transit 🚇 system. Atlanta has a Sunway systehanks to Seattle. Our MARTA Sunway system is 48 miles long tracks with 38 subway stations 🚉 👌 and growing for the Atlanta metropolitan population over 6.2 millions. May God bless Seattle and its leaders and residents. 🙌 🙏
A very nice system. Love from an Atlanta resident. God Bless 🙌 🙏
Haha you’re welcome :)
What’s the time end to end? That crawl into the downtown bellevue station is ridiculous. I thought this was supposed to be “rapid transit”
@@williamcondon7729 lol good thing I did, cuz unhelpful asshats are usually wrong.
20 minutes and 40 for a round trip. The design of the tunnel is why it has such a slowed down time. Too tight a curve designed for an eventual four car train link.
@@tilltheendoftime-adventure8441 thank you for the correct and mature response.
@@tilltheendoftime-adventure8441 its 14 minutes one way at its slowest
It is rapid but the rapidness comes from the shorter wait time since a train comes every 10 minutes nice and convenient
Thank You!
Street level? I thought we learned our lessons in the South end. Groovy video.
I think it’s a lot less
This was an ST2 project. Sound Transit committed to no at-grade crossings for all ST3 projects onward (as everything in ST2 was pretty much solidified at this point).
It's not as bad since they have crossing gates and a curb, and also the line isn't as busy as the 1 line
Honestly wasn't a bad choice for the short amount it's at street level. They had the choice either keeping it along the freeway or along a developing area. Would take the developing area purely due to it encouraging transit oriented developments rather than wasting one side to a freeway like Overlake Station currently is
WE have learned that sound transit Never learns LOL
Very nice!
Exciting! Can’t wait til it connects to Seattle

Thank you for making this video! Exactly what I've been searching for

My uncle worked for the railroad and lived for years in Wishram, until he retired to Sequim.
