Yes yes yes ! This is just what I need right now. Thank you for surgically breaking this down for a noob like me😅. Thank you all the way from Nigeria 🇳🇬
It seems the creators just want to be credible, giving an extended response. The worst would be if the answer was a failure... I've seen cases, then the famous excuse: "Excuse me, I am still learning..."
I was really hoping this tutorial would cover optimization settings. Like how do we determine what to set GPU offloading at? And what kind of specs do we need to run these models well?
Some comments & questions: 1. "Deepseek destilled into Qwen"? I thought "Qwen" is a competing AI model from Alibaba?? 2. What is the difference between Deepseek R1 and Janus Pro? 3. Can I upload a screenshot of figure from scientific paper with combined scatter plots (different markers) and line plots and have the tool automatically digitize the data into Excel/csv format? 4. What about uploading tables with text and numbers? Convert to Excel/csv/latex? [Copilot partially does this, but only for small/almost rectangular tables, not page long] 5. What about web scraping? E g., "find daily temperatures, low, mean, high, for Santa Barbara, CA from 1960 to today"? 6. "Spyware"? What if one installs model locally and allows it to search the web... Does it "report back to China"? 7. Can it take advantage of a GPU on my laptop? (RTX 4070)?
You can upload documents for it to reference, but you probably don't have the massive hardware resources required to retain a model where it could internalize information you feed it.
That's not how it works. LM Studio is an American company, and GGUF models don't send any info back. You would be even a bit safer with using open source app like koboldcpp or Jan, as LM Studio is closed source, but you're probably fine with LM Studio anyway.
It's Chinese made, but just because you own a copy of it, that doesn't mean anyone is monitoring your use of it. It's open source, meaning anyone can audit it to see if there's anything fishy in it.
@ Well, your decision, your loss. I've seen someone analyze the network traffic on their PC when using it, and it didn't send any data back anywhere on the internet. If you want, you can do the same yourself and verify it. Just look up a tutorial on how to pull up and see network traffic on your PC.

I asked DeepSeek "A farmer has 26 cows. 14 escaped. How many cows got out?" and I sent the AI into a 66-paragraph spiral. I'm proud of myself.

Did Kevin get left home alone again?
🤣 👍
Thank you
Hahaha right Im gonna do that😂😂😂
GUI advantages aside, why would I choose one over the other between Ollama and LM Studio?
Where is Kevin.?This is not the first video he’s not there.
My System Type says x64-based PC so download arm64 for Windows? 🤔
No, x64 is the other one
Can we upload docs in offline for specific sector n train it ?

Nice...

This software should never be allowed in America.
WAIT FOR SOME TIME, IT MAY KEEP YOU OUT OF "DEEP" TROUBLE.
I am unsubscribing due to the US tariffs against Canada.
Why encourage the growth of the Chinese State sponsored gathering of Western intelligence. I can't get my breath.....
Why would anyone want that on their devices? Great way for China to monitor your every move

@ yeah and I don’t buy any of that, sorry

That's a bit rubbish.
Why?
@@danielorozco1728in my opinion the US is playing the same political games as soon as they see another company that poses as competition!
Should we really be installing Chinese software. Has it been vetted?
Yes. It’s fine. Trust me. I’m from the internet.
Should we be using Alexa? Has it been vetted?
This video convinced me… never to put this rubbish on my local machine
Alternative title : How to let CCP have your personal data.
He is running it offline so information is not sent to servers.
