Really impressed with the mortar cutting blades and chisels. Always tough working retrospectively. Your bricklaying is really neat and straight and your pointing looks great! 👍🏼🇬🇧
Hi guys.If any water were to get past brickwork in the future where does water go when it hits cavity tray as it looks like it would be trapped behind the brickwork where it meets the lintel?
In the past they didn't care a lot of dumping mortar and chippings into the cavity, I had a cavity under a window on level floor which was filled from the foundation up to almost the sill! That couldn't have fallen from above but was dropped in on purpose I believe to get rid of the waste. You have to love those stone blades for the reciprocating saw, I also do, it works a lot tidier than a cutting disc. Only disadvantage is that they wear quickly in harder mortar or engineering brick.
I was never an overly good bricklayer so I always used cavity battens on the ties when I could and lifted them as I went, that way I could clean the snots off.

I got a trick to put the angle level with the window head and use headers over the top. (The old "turn shit into Strawberry Jam" that us bricky's are always having to do!) If you ever want to know it I might have to email you the details. It's legal, and looks better if the filler piece is going to be pretty thick.

The two acrows would do the job they've probably learned more from us now lol
