I am from Louisiana and we have been enjoying your videos. We especially where excited when you decided to allow viewers to purchase a slate with there name on it. I purchased two and it felt amazing that I was given a chance to contribute even though it was is a small way. It would be awesome if you could make a video revealing all the purchased slates so far with our names visible. Another idea, if you would allow us to purchase some of the old tiles with mucky mansion and the date written on it, it would be another way to help fund the enormous amount of funds you will need to bring back the life to the chateau. Keep up the good work...
There’s something about tall strong burly Stan wearing his bright snowman beanie that makes me happy to my core. Sadie and Stan make such a great team, I’m enjoying these videos so much all that way in Australia.
To say the least, you have taken on a monumental task. Its clear the damage brought about over the years of neglect and vandalism must be discouraging. I commend you for the grit and determination you show in taking on such a project to begin with. I think you both have family genetics that show up in this courageous endeavours. Its a joy to watch you tackle the restoration, and appaently i'm not alone i enjoy seeing you take on the challenge
At the end of a video I am either grinning, smiling, or pondering questions about the sounds elephants make. I do alwasys leave the video with joy in my heart.❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I'm so glad to see Sadie and Stan restoring a piece of history. Here in the states there are so many old historic buildings left to decay even though they are on the historic register. We need more people like them. They see the potential in the chateau.
Since the high school is right there, and the young people seem to be very interested in the mansion, perhaps you can work with administrators to come up with some way for students to volunteer or otherwise be involved in the renovation. If they feel like they are part of it, and if there’s maybe some sort of perk to participating, they will be less likely to vandalize, be unsafe, etc., and might instead take some pride in it and protect it a bit. They may not be able to safely help directly until the mansion is safe, but maybe even grounds work projects, fundraising events, etc. I don’t know how volunteering and charity work are governed there, maybe that can’t work, but there must be some way to get them invested in the project.
You may have something of a point, but in the end I think those that will vandalize will still vandalize, and those that won't will not. Coming over to work on the property might equally give young vandals ideas they didn't have before. They can look for new ways to break in. They will learn when Sadie & Stan are going to be there, and when they will be away. There are not a lot of great solutions.
I’ve been thinking the same thing, excellent work experience for students, possible credit towards classes. Reference from teachers for future employment. Sounds like a win for everyone.
Im so, so pleased your website has done so well , Sadie and Stan, I don’t care if my name rubs off two minutes after writing it on, just as long as you get enough slates to keep that beautiful old chateau dry. Go on Sadie, look at you with the guitar ❤
I can't believe Stan mentioned one of my all time favorite movies Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man 😂. The tape is called Duct Tape over here. Thanks for another awesome video ❤
Yeah! "Sometimes reasonable men do unreasonable things" "Better be dead and cool than alive and uncool" "Squeeze it, don't yank it, Harley, it's not your ****" It's my favorite movie too
Love your videos. Such an enormous project. One thing at a time. Your prioritizations will change often as you move forward depending on what you find as you go. I think we’re all as excited as you are to see the progress and anxious to see it done and sorted. I also love Stan and you just get it done. Security on the property will be worth it so no one gets hurt or starts to destroy anything. Hoping weather improves for you!
Should put, "Smile for the camera" on the gate and on the doors. It would be funny if you could talk to them, especially if they got inside. They would think it's haunted and run like h**l. LOL Harley Davidson & the Marlboro Man is one of my faves. Always great listening to your explanations about the Chateau. Hey, you two sounded great playing music together.
It's really great to hear that you had a great response for the roof slates. I really hope that you can get the whole thing done with the generosity of your subscribers. ❤
I think removing part of the gutter down spout pipes, you might find these packed with muck. Removing the muck inside these will improve drainage immensely.🤷♀️
I am so very happy your website came down due to heavy traffic, so awesome, congratulations. We call that duct tape. It is used to fix lots of things it wasn't meant to. It was originally made to tape around joints in ductwork for heating systems.
Thank you so much for the update on the tiles! I’m so happy to know that you have had so many people who are happy to support you on your journey restoring the Chateau - it must make you both feel so great to know you have support around the world! With regards to the ‘visitors’ - is it possible to large spot lights that can turn on when motion triggered?
You two are awesome Sadie and Stan! Good job finding more of the problems going on and resolving more of them and figuring out more solutions in order to secure the safety and preservation of the building. I enjoy all of your videos and am looking forward to seeing more!
It’s private property and people should respect that. Love the pompom on top of hat, lol. Love seeing the work being done on this stunning building. Here in New Zealand we don’t have history like you do over there. Thank you once again taking us alone on your journey.
I'm so glad that you harnessed up on that cherry picker Stan. It's a long way down! Clearing the gutters has bought you a little bit of time. You both have a huge job ahead of you repairing the roof and gutters, but at least you now know what's ahead of you. Onwards and upwards!😊
I just went to look at your web site, and oh my goodness you have floor plans! Thank you. Now I will need to rewatch the videos with the floor plans in front of me!
Straight to the Mucky , been hunting for days for a new vlog 😭 . It doesn’t matter if the name goes in time we just wanna help out with the Chateau to get it back on track .🥰😍😘
@MuckyMansion Since Billy wants a new "Condor/crane" can you 3 split the cost of a previous owned one. You have years of work for one and so does Billy.
I just looked at the site again for the slate buying and where it says buy a slate it wont work , best to go up to shop and go on there to buy . not sure why that link at the start not working but all it says is Bad Gateway ....
so happy you found the problem and were able to fix it. water is an enemy of a building, especially the older it is. once the starts to deteriorate the water can find its way in. we are very much enjoying watching this transformation of the chateau and look forward to its completion at some point in the future...how ever long that will be !!! so happy the slates are being bought, a very unique idea to help make the new roof a reality. Does the sun make an appearance once in a while there ??!!! last night where we live it was 15 degrees below faranheight so no matter where you live the weather is different. looking forward to Sundays video !!!

French only, or would you need French & English. We live in Southern California -- which was northern Mexico, not so far back in history -- & many signs & all resources are offered in English & Spanish. I loved the Spanish language & many different cultures from my first Spanish classes in school when I was around 11 years old. Continued to study 4 years in high school (age 13 - 17) & 4 years at university, just because I didn't want to stop. I am old now. Absolutely loved that Stan cares about stamps!!! I too appreciate a nice stamp (I order mine online because the local post office has limited options). Thank you both for being amazing and providing the best entertainment by sharing your Mucky adventures! Your tile plan is a great idea, I got several and don’t care if my name (Kimberlie) goes on them - save yourself the time!❤
You're freezing, I'm sweltering at 0900 already 22°C in NZ now horizontal catching up with Mucky Mansion, Billy @ Pethericks & the Moons then gardening if I can find shade. Love your enthusiasm and light heartedness you spread thru the world 🇳🇿☕🌻
Well done Stan getting the yuk out of gutters is not a joy filled job but so necessary. No dead birds? Maybe that a summer thing. Might be an idea if you can take the lowest pipe off and run a brush through it in case it is clogged with leaves? All your knowledge is coming so useful now. Lovely to see you two together. Makes my heart sing😉😉🥰🥰🥰👏
Another important job done. Stan definitely feels more comfortable on the bigger cherry picker. Good job you had cameras fitted. There is always someone who thinks that they can go into other peoples property. Nice tree camera. Good camera work. Roll on Sunday 🎉😊
Stan I'm sure you've considered this already but when over many years the gutters have been neglected the chance that the ground perimeter drainage will be itself compromised, good luck on the project.
After inspecting the top of the building's wall, I've concluded that the upper section needs to be removed and rebuilt to prevent water from entering the building. Same with the arch on top of the window where the bricks have come out. Keep up the good work
Congratulations on the response to your store and on the donations for the slate tiles!! The roof will be replaced very soon! Wonderful video today, I adore the statue in your garden.
Slow by sure progress guys....love your videos! Stan, your accordian music reminds me of my Lithuanian heritage and the music I heard as a kid at gatherings! Keep it up, from London Ontario Canada
In Canada there are no prices on our stamps so if you buy them or say 90 cents and ten years latter and say the price of a new stamp is 1.50 you can still uses the older stamp so when the government says price of stamps are going up I buy a few hundred to use in the next 3 years of increases
That cherry picker looks far more suitable for the work needed at the mansion, although you did get all the ivy off with the other one, so it wasn't wasted. Do you have any idea yet, how many slates you are going to need? Many thousands, I'm sure 😊 ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
I'm so glad you don't have snow like we do in Louisiana. Those gutters really needed cleaning. With that larger cherry picker, you can replace slates you can reach. Super work today 😊 ! Stay safe and warm in this cold winter weather.
Oh yes, familiar with Duct tape, originally used to seal seems on air ducts of central heating systems to further prevent drafts during operation of forced hot air furnaces in homes. The stuff works too well in some applications, however gutters should not be one of those. I suspect that when the school was operating the cost cutting was proper maintenance of the roof as well cleaning rain gutters, so they used duct tape as a temporary fix it job. It does not last thus you having to fix their mistakes.
Funnily enough, it's pretty terrible for sealing seams on air ducts. It doesn't stick well at all in that application. You use foil tape for that. Really, it was originally called duck tape because duck cotton fabric was used in its construction. It was used in packaging ammunition during WWII, when they needed a waterproof tape. Then, people heard someone say "duck tape", interpreted it as "duct tape", and assumed the origin story you mentioned.
A Stan Sized cherry picker!! Yay! So proud of you to face your fear. I'm terrified of heights. Kudos to Sadie on the guitar! I played for years, and got my son one when he was 8. You two made my day. Love and hugs always.❤
Looks like Stan is getting over his fear of heights. In America, we call it duct tape. It is versatile and strong we use it for everything. I plan on buying a tile. I would love it if you wrote our locations on them too. I think it would be a wonderful visual of where we are all from.
You can’t imagine how pleased I was to finally see a security harness! Also, you should invest in a GoPro with a headband or chest plate support instead of dragging your camera person up there with you!
I'm with Stan when it comes to heights. When I visited London,we went on the London eye and all I remember about that was the carpeting on the floor. I was petrified to look out. Glad to hear your merch and tiles doing well.
Security cameras with speakers so you can talk to them and hear them, with Stan’s voice alone should scare them away !!
I have blink cameras can speak on them as well .dog sitter was surprised when I said enjoying my dog and deck!!!!😂 I was several miles away 😊
Stan could just go Woooo like a ghost. That could be fun!
Mean....but 😂
As much as you want/need to clear the debris inside, the roof (slate replacement) and gutter system should be your first priority.
As a roofer of 20+ years I can confirm.
What a huge machine more your size Stan! I did think it was funny with the big arrows painted on the sides of the machine🤭☺️
talk to Billy, but the city was telling Billy something about what kind of tiles they had to use in Ernee, and that they HAD to use nails and not hangers
the tape is called duct tape. The military has a green version of the tape called “100 mile an hour tape” because it sticks so strongly.
Did you mean Ductape? People fix everything with ductape.
