my 10 year old son's dentist told me to apply pea size amount twice a day, (best in the morning and bedtime) and yes, you have to spit it out. And in case you swallowed a little amount, that's okay. Dentist did not say to rinse it with water.

We have to spit it out after brushing and leave it like that or we can rinse with water or mouthwash after using?

Don’t rinse. It’ll keep the good medicine on your teeth all night. My dentist just told me that.
