Great videos man! I just came across your channel and hit that sub after watching a few videos. I'm new to striper fishing from my boat and hope to get some videos up soon of it. What would you recommend for a spinning set up for big spoon fishing? Trying to stay in the 7'6" range or smaller as my rod locker wont hold anything larger unless it's a two piece. Thanks!
@@JustBankOnIt It's actually a FierceII 4000 on a Penn Squadron 7' but I also have the factory 4000 combo 7'. Yes I always use a Fluorocarbon leader, I never tie Braid directly to the lure.
I use 20lb braid on my spinning reels with the larger spoons and always use a fluorocarbon leader 20# for larger spoons (2 oz & up). Smaller spoons then smaller setups usually.
I have umbrellas jig and i hear some people say just drop 20 feet to catch strippers. What you think about that Cap. Or what is your opinion tell me. I am newbie. Thanks capt
Hi tom, Depends on the lure. Early summer I start smaller, 1oz bucktails with trailer and maybe move up to 2oz and/or bigger trailers by August. Trial and error really

Good stuff!! See you out there.
Enjoying your videos trying to get this going for us
Great video, I went out yesterday didn’t catch a single fish lol
Thanks! Just remember, it'll just be that much more fun when do you find them and catch em!
I will pay you to teach me, I have hard time to find them
At what depth you are finding blueback herring? Looking at your video, looks like baits staying below the thermocline.
Ideally they want to be there but sometimes they're above it. I get so many strikes on lures coming up out of it.
Sick intro
