- Today I take you with me for a typical farmer's market day. It was a little windy so you see how that effects my display and also how I deal with my tent almost being blown away! I go over some tips and tricks that will help you at your next farmer's market. We also tell you how much we much money in sales we made on this day!

Do you network with other vendors at the market to use their products in yours? For example: beekeepers sell honey and beeswax. You can use the honey in your soaps and the beeswax in your candles and lip balms. Support other vendors at your market, create a stronger community!
I make soaps too (also in canada in Calgary actually ) and as much as i would love to do a farmers market it just costs so much! Its like $150 of the space and then you need your own tent and tables etc. I think especially with COVID lot less people decide to go to farmers market now a days :(

I’m sure it depends on your area. My area has never been in actual lockdown. We had farmers markets half of last summer too. Masks and social distancing. Plus, you are outside in the fresh air. I live in a very rural area, so that obviously helps.

After watching one of your last videos, I literally ran out to buy a square card reader the night before my first farmers market. I would’ve missed almost $100 in sales if I wouldn’t have had it so Thank You!
Exactly! This is A MUST HAVE if you're vending in person. I have witnessed so many people walk away from a sale simply because there is no way to accept credit.
I’d add that being Venmo-friendly is also a good thing. So many people use that form of electronic/instant payment these days (and bonus for being 100% contactless) also the fees are MUCH less than Square or the PayPal card reader. (I’ve used them both) Juat a suggestion. :)
Ohhhh I'm a small details person and I LOVE the little tilt to your lipbalm jar displays it just adds that "little bit" of difference to a jar display!!!!
Hello Jerika - a helpful tip for tents going airborne - cut slits into the curtains. The wind will blow through rather than lifting and taking off. It's a very serious situation if a customer get hit with one of the tent legs. Try to use water buckets as anchors. They are easy to fill and empty as well as heavy.
I can't imagine anyone saying anything negative...I was a newbie last year to the Farmer's Market world and stumbled upon her videos.....I have learned so much about so many things from just watching her....People are going to hate something no matter what.....I applaud her for putting herself out there and sharing her wisdom with everyone....well done Jerika...well done indeed.

There is a mesh side you can purchase for your pop up keeps out Sun but lets wind through. They come in white and black. I got mine at Harbor freight here in the states .

This is my dream ...I love making all of this stuff, have an entire formulator room/apothecary room (mass of money for hobby).....but the amount of Money I would/or could make ....does not come close to my income from real life job..... not feasible in real life right now....but this is my dream ....hoping at some point in life even if the income is much smaller .... but this is life....love love love your channel ...wish I had followed my dream instead of what was the most practical ..... money is not all in life .....sometime happiness is better .....

I agree with being consistent. I have gone from selling $300 to selling $800-$1000 at a farmers market as now people come looking for me so it’s a great tip. Also I got my order from you which took over 2 months due to covid post but well worth the weight. Have an amazing day 💗

Excellent tips, Jerika! I enjoyed watching your video on farmers markets. This is how I make most my money. I love to socialize! I've found the more open I am the greater the sales. Since my husband Wayne started making product with me and understands the process, sales are up. Women love talking to him, lol! He's kinda a handsome dude, so it's good for business, but it makes me laugh, lol!

I’ve owned a small soap-bath-body-candle business for 23 years (and I still work full time as a nurse), and I’ve done the farmer’s market/craft show thing for years. I have done farmers markets s9nce I was very little 4 days a week and I love it! Started off with a baking booth at a big farmers market near Cornell University in Ithaca New York for years then later in other towns all over for years with a family produce farm. Maybe you could do your next video not only on ideas to push sales but also things that come up at markets for those starting out to expect..like all the questions you will get from customers about your products be prepared to give answers that will sell your products..explain the ingredients and how good they are for your skin etc..offer products you can sell them that may be suitable for them or goes along with the topic your discussing whether it be about skin problems they are having or if they are looking for something in particular you may have something close to it you can suggest etc..all kinds of things come up at markets thats what makes them fun interesting and always challenging you as a business owner! do you leave candles open so customers can smell them? do you leave samples pout or use anything neat in your booth to amp it up a bit? Plants are great for contrast and color and little battery operated fairy lights are great too....Love your tips, booth looks great and yes sandbags or weights are a must! I absolutely love how well you two work together..I am sure you have days that get a bit stressful, especially working and living together nonstop, but together you are working it! Congratulations to both of you in how far you have come!

I just bought my own first mixer and scale and stick blender. And almost done ordering all my stuff to get started on the bath bomb part of my own soap making adventure. This video was inspiring because this is where I plan to be at in hopefully this summer or so. Keep up the amazing work guys!!
I’m looking for a tent for a farmers market. What’s the best one? Everywhere I look they all have good and bad reviews.
Farmer markets are great here in the USA but most of them charge higher prices for a booth/space$70.00-$100.00. Most of the smaller places want a certain percentage of your sales and they want you to donate an item for auction. It’s crazy here. Some charge up to $1,000.00 for an inside space a day. Those are the bigger high traffic places. It’s very hard to find a $50.00 or less space charge here in AZ.
Where do u get ur shrink wraps? I make 1.5inch shower steamers and my packaging right now i use glassine envelopes but this is not going well and the oils are seeping out and my labels come off

My tent almost collapsed under a sudden heavy down pour once. Thankfully some other patrons were able to hold the tent while I rescued product and got it put away. Another vendor’s tent did collapse that day.
I have been watching your videos a lot lately as I am finally starting my journey in bath bomb making and hopefully down the track more natural body products. I am grateful that I have come across you and even though I have been following for a while its my first time commenting and I just wanted to thank you so much for all the effort you both put into helping others grow in their own success. I notice your prices are different than on your website. What's your strategy for markets? I felt if anything, I'd have to sell higher at market to cover for the cost (markets are expensive here in Québec - often around 150 $ a day).
I like you beautiful products. Only thing I don’t like is why have to cover with plastic everything? Understand for bath bomb when shipping but for sell in market like this should sell things with out plastic. It will up values for your product that it is not just look pretty :)

Great video! I've been doing our Farmers' Market (baking) for the last 15 years and know the 5am wakeup well! Thank you for showing the setup and teardown - as much as you could. I love that you were completely transparent with how much you sold, the tent issues, weather etc. There's so much to consider when starting out and I love that you mention some of the things that no one else does.

Ive been doing markets, festivals and school galas/fetes here in australia every weekend most weeks 3 a weekend for 6 years my biggest tip is treat your stall as though it is your shop in a mall if it looks tacky or mot great for a building shop then its not great for your shop walk out into where the people stand and see what they see you are going to spot anything that looks out of place or placed wrong or not approachable as humans we are our biggest critic 😁 sorry this isnt aimed at jerika this is tip for all beginning 😃

Not sure if u have done i havemt quite caught up watching all but i really struggle with posting on social media what things to post do u have a calender of what to post for the month how do u come up with variety and not always selling do u plan for the week or month on what to post and wording sorry but its my biggest struggle
