    It’s interesting, but perhaps a little obvious when you think about it, how hearing only the visceral sounds of ones task adds an incredible amount to the sharing of the knowledge.
    Just spent over an hour watching Peaceful Cuisine! I can see why you’re inspired.

    I'm very amazed by how little you ate before a 30k run, it's just like another mid-day snack lol. I'd get a bit more and something with temperature before a long run practice though, but anyways keep uploading videos, the editing is nice. :)

    We eat pretty much the opposite way. I eat high fat low carb, mostly meat, eggs, avocado, and full fat dairy. But I love your videos and I have subscribed for a year. Very well done editing and music. And I agree about training fasted or low calorie, I always run fasted and only add calories after a couple hours, and never gels. So, we come from opposite dietary worlds, but it's amazing how much we still are together on.

    Hey Dan! Awesome video. Awesome to see you have done so well considering your chronic illness! I am just starting my own journey of training for Ultras and I have arthritis of the spine....going to be an interesting ride for sure!

    Instead of coconut water you can do a pinch of pink Himalayan salt in your water! Natural electrolytes without the sugar spike

      Big Red why lol? She’s right, much more Na in a pinch of Pink salt than the potassium in coconut water, it’s hydrating but we lose much more NaCl then potassium. Also drinking fructose (coconut water) while running is practically useless, you need glucose for your muscles, not fructose in your liver.

    This was super interesting and thanks for the recommend for peaceful cusine! Do you eat any other fruits through out the day like apples or pineapples? I know I find those helpful to snack on those throughout the day after a longer run. Enjoying your videos here in the USA

    I'm very similar to you with nutrition for training and non race runs. But I do tend to eat more during an actual race. Like I just did one where I was grabbing 1/4 peanut butter jelly sandwich about every 3 or so miles.
    Loved this videos format!

    What knives do you use when you cook? Been using a single ceramic chefs knife but I’m starting to cook more and looking at picking up a nice set for food prep.

      hey austin I have japanese knives frim different makers that I have bought from knivesandstones.com Id recommend not buying a set all you need is good quality gyuto or chefs knife 210mm is the most popular length and then its nice to have a petty also but you dont need that straight away. hope that helps

      haha yeh not alot of options. I have a fridge and a microwave in the truck so I just take my own food and heat it up

      all depends mate before the ccc i did an 8 hour run of 50km in the mountains but that the longest run ive ever done in training

    bit of a different question dan, but what do you do with your soft flasks in between runs/usages. How do you clean/dry/store etc?

      I just rinse them out a few times let them drip dry and stick em in the drawer

      If you’re having trouble with them growing mold, try storing them in the freezer after you clean them. The cold temp will prevent anything from sprouting up in them.

    That curry looked pretty fantastic! I will give that a try. Pretty impressive that you can fuel a long run with a banana and a single bar. I eat a ton before, during and after long runs... Guess you can train running on less food. Thanks for the videos!

      i used to be the same it takes time to adapt for sure but it works out a whole lot better for me and yes make the curry!

    I'm having trouble maintaining my weight while training for buffalo stampede 75km and eating plant based. A wife, kid young kids, busy work schedule plus ultra training doesn't leave much time to food prep 😢
