    Such a clear, calm presentation. Wonderful!! I am not new to making great pizza by any stretch of the imagination, but am used to dedicated pizza ovens, this shows that good pizza is possible with one of these contraptions! Excellent tips in here for sure THANKS

    1:45 I thought you were going to say, "Normally you put the grill grate down next, but what I like to do is add a little more hickory" 🤣

      That would have been funny... I wish I had thought of that when I was making the video... well, thanks for watching

    Great video. Can you just spin the stone while pizza is cooking ?

    Good job with the bottom of the crust. Last time I made Pizza in my Kettle I didn’t let the Pizza Stone heat up long enough and the crust underneath didn’t come out brown and crisp.

      You should! I wanted to get a Big Green Egg to cook pizzas but couldn't justify the high price. I then found this attachment for a Weber Kettle grill and its been awesome. our family really enjoys it and its not a huge investment. Well thanks for watching.

    We've been making sourdough pizza crust. We usually pre cook a fee extra for a quick pizza in the oven. What kind of dough do you use? We use corn meal under the pizza.

      At the moment we use store bought pizza dough... at culinary school we used to make it so maybe this fall I will try and make it again.... sometimes I use corn meal under the pizza but found flour works just as well

    I need to make a bigger pizza. I have an Ooni 16 so looking for a 18”. Thoughts on putting a 20” stone on a 22” Weber. Think it’ll work okay?

    Doesn'T THE OPENING IN THE FRONT NEGATE the need to open the top vent?

    • @onesimplechef
      @onesimplechef  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, some what, but ot helps a little bit of the heat escape to the top so you don't burn your hand when trying to reach in to the opening with the pizza peel. Well thanks for watching

    Never use lighter fluid! Use some vegetable cooking oil on 2 paper towels! Otherwise a great video. Thought using part of the charcoal bag to start coals clever. I prefer thin crust New Haven type pizza myself and like how you charred the top-tastes better

  • @TheGrakenverb
    @TheGrakenverb ปีที่แล้ว

    Pizza looks good. Why use the lighter fluid if you have a chimney starter? It kind of defeats the purpose.

    • @onesimplechef
      @onesimplechef  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I grew up in the 80's whenever we cook with charcoal, we use a ton of lighter fluid. But yes I know the chimney charcoal starter is designed to be used without lighter fluid.

  • @CowboyGirl007
    @CowboyGirl007 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So use lighter fluid or not? You did...

    • @onesimplechef
      @onesimplechef  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly, you probably shouldn't use lighter fluid. But I grew up in the 80s and how can you not use lighter fluid when you light charcoal.

    • @onesimplechef

      I know... most people would agree but I grew up in the 80s, so I'm used to grilling and using a cup of lighter fluid. Well thanks for watching
