Another great Hobby nightmares North! Some of these stories just leave me stunned Some make me laugh and some of them make me think about what is and is not important. I just had a bit of a scare that ended with a couple CAT scans and a battery of other tests, they thought it might be Cancer. It was not in the long run, but I had to wait around a month for these tests to be run and honestly your channel and the stories you tell and the conversations you had, helped me though that waiting time, it helped me stay as calm as I could be and even find some things to laugh about at times. You Do great things for the Community North, thank you, it honestly means a lot more than people (me) say sometimes. :) Have a great day sir, hope you and your family are doing fantastic!!
I have been a 40k player since 3rd edition first came out, and I got to the point where I finally just gave it all up this year, it sucks playing now - it is just so messed up right now. I would do OPR but nobody else local wants to switch - however, I am having a blast with the new AOS 4e and Spearhead. Excellent rules (finally).
My brother has a personal vendetta against Guiliman. The first time he faced him was when the model first came out and he played Imperial Knights. The opponent had Guiliman with a trio of psykers buffing him. He lost two of his knights in melee combat, on his own turn. Let me repeat that, two large knights were slain in my brother’s turn, from Guiliman’s counterattack. Now anytime Guiliman appears on the battlefield he makes it a personal goal to destroy him, even if it’s not beneficial.
Great episode! I could feel North’s loneliness a bit lol. Especially the brief “I do” when asked who in the world plays on a random afternoon. The ribs, beer the games lol even I was jealous of this meathead!
I think you could easily adapt current 40k into alternating activations without too much struggle. Switch off command phase abilities and stratagem use, each player moves one unit at a time switching off, etc. Just write in a rule that the player with fewer activations can choose to activate first or second at the start of each round.
do you know, that the very first official Warhammer store is about to open by us in Switzerland in Zurich? Its cool i have spoken to one guy wich will work there, and he said, they will have also Forgeworld models in the store. Did you know that until now, on the webpage, you cant even choose switzerland as an origin country? Its not even on the "other European Countries" list. You had to choose "Rest of the world" 😂
Hot take, i don't like alternating activations, and I don't think every new and existing game should incorporate them. AoS 4 has hit a pretty good sweet spot, where there's call and response, but you can still think strategically through your whole turn and make good set-up moves. Although, my wife and i had been playing it to where it was active player uses an ability, then inactive player has the option to use an applicable ability or spend command points, and that hit an even sweeter spot haha
(This comment applies to the channel in general rather than this video )I’ve been binging this channel the last few days because North is hilarious and I love listening to him. But honestly I feel a bit concerned at why some people seem to see him as some all knowing sage qualified to give relationship and especially mental health advice because he talks as much shit mixed in with good advice as anyone would . Listen to what North has to say about mental health for sure but also seek a range of advice , preferably including that of qualified professionals too. The episode where a dude was asking for advice about suicidal thoughts has been nagging at an uncomfortable place in the back of my mind.
That toilet scenario was a total sick move by the manager. Glad the dude got the girl in the end!
Well, for the two years at least.

@@whatigottaroll We play 7th. 40k stopped being 40k with the rejection of blasts, templates, and scattered dice IMHO 🤪

Even with alternative activations 40k is bad, it’s fundamentally a bad written game, only made for sales not fun
