Man that looks so good. Your addition is something I will have to try.GUMBOLAYA I will have to share that idea with some of our folks here. Thanks for all the shout out. I thank it helped my subs list. Blessings!
Thanks Eddie! I apologize in advance if I made something “Un-Louisiana-ish” 😂... but it sure was good, and the best thing is I still have 1/2 the mix left!!!! When I make the rest, I’ll be sure to add the okra 😂👍🏻
Thank you Paul.... I can’t believe I forgot the okra.... I guess I was too hungry and rushed things a bit. It was still good though. Appreciate you watching and commenting!!!!
I made a good ole batch of jambalaya myself on fat tuesday. Good looking stuff, even to a fella that spent a lot of time working down around NOLA. I left down there with a load of shrimp that were 7 per lb. Texas pete and cayenne almost always required.
Oh man did that “GUMBOLAYA” ever look good. I love both gumbo and jambalaya and I first had them in Louisiana many years ago when stopped there while working on an oil tanker. My son makes a really good jambalaya. I was a little concerned for a while that you weren't gong to make the meal "complete" 😉 ........Take care, Mike.
One day I’m going to have to go there myself and try out the local cuisine. We went there when I was very young, but I barely remember it. Hope y’all are all doing ok up there 👍🏻
Looks good to me! But I am from Canada so how would I know about Southern cooking. Thank you for sharing this awesome Cast Iron Wednesday Big Bang Meal Challenge recipe with us, Chris. Added to the play lists. Stay safe and stay warm
That was a awesome looking meal Chris i got to try it sometime. i also like seeing the ground it been so long now i say the snow be gone in a month or two. take care and have a great evening
Winter is almost over with no snow here. Usually we get one or two snow days each year. A big pot of spicy food would make the shed smell nice and warm y’all up real good!
Thanks! It was a great day for outdoor cooking. I traded a fella for a batch of these shirts a couple years ago, and gave them all away except one.... I kinda wish I would’ve kept a couple. I don’t even think he makes T shirts anymore, and is rarely on TH-cam. He did great work though!
Thanks for watching Kerry. Your spoon came in real handy for this meal! I think we’re going to try to catch some crawfish this spring in the creeks ... we’ll see!

Happy Cast Iron Wednesday Chris, I should put together a little fire starting pack too, would surely come in handy there days with the amount of snow I have to contend with to get a fire going, gumbolaya sounds good to me and that looked delicious
Yes, you do need to do that!!!! It’s fun figuring out the stuff you need for your particular situation. Lucky for me, we have plenty of pine and cedar trees.... usually just takes a couple strikes to get a flame. Not too much gumbo or jambalaya being served up there I bet 😂

Thanks! It’s fun setting up a good camping spot. This place is on 100 acres that I don’t own, but I have permission to use. Nobody lives on it. I’ve been lucky so far... no vandals or thieves, but I don’t leave much out there.
Thoroughly enjoyed that. Beth called it on "sucking the head" on the crawdad. She also said "he shouuld leave the shrimp head on for the juices" lol. Just her opinion. We love ya brother. Thanks again man. Cya next time.
@@JulesGardening / I was going to leave the heads on, but I thought too many legs and and whiskers would get in my food... plus, I hate cleaning shrimp after they are cooked. Hey Chris, just see this posted I'm currently camping in Ontario right now so I will watch this when I get a better internet connection......Take care, Mike.
Looks tasty! My mom in law from LA used to make a mean gumbo. Her boyfriend got pulled over by the sheriff one day cause he was drinking something out of a quart mason jar. He couldn't wait till he got home and was drinking the gumbo right out of the jar. He had to give up his other quart to the sheriff to get out of a reckless driving ticket Drinking and driving is never a good idea!😜
That looked like good eats. I full on forgot about Mardis Gras. I won't lie, I was not disappointed that no one threw you a set of beads during the video.
I think they’re pretty good. I haven’t had many “store bought” ones, so I don’t know what to compare them to. When we make them at home, our beer content is probably higher than these..... these have quite a bit tomato flavoring... and we use the hot V-8 juice. For “pre-made”, they’re tasty and convenient 👍🏻
Awesome meal Chris! I enjoy them Tony Chachere meals. I think they are a nice change of pace, as far as the box meals go. The dirty rice one is pretty good too!. Looked mighty tasty there in your camp. Wished I was closer, I woulda helped ya get through that meal 🤠🍴
