Happy St. Patrick's Day Chris. That meal sure did look delicious. I was a little surprised that you used Texas Pete with that but I shouldn't have been......Take care, Bluefin.
Happy st Patrics day to you we had a lot of fun with our dutch oven yesterday - and treated myself with a bottle of peated irish whiskey cheers, man, that looked good!!
Happy St Patrick’s Day Wallace! That’s our new dog “Maggie”... she’s a Golden Retriever and she’s a wild one. Digs five holes a day in my yard... Eats or chews up EVERYTHING.... rocks, sticks, flowers, socks... if she doesn’t eat it, she’ll chew it up into a million pieces!!! She’s 11 months old. She’s my buddy though 👍🏻
Great job, that looked delicious. That was a great handle holder for pan too clever ideal Looked pretty tender , puppers was looking on there I'm sure he would have loved digging in. Happy St Patrick's Day Chris.
Donna is a great craftswoman... Yes, the corned beef turned out exactly like I was hoping. Maggie definitely wanted some but since I used onions in it I couldn’t let her, or that pesky cat have any. They eat lots of good food 😂
Well my American friend, that was quite the dinner. Great representation of ST Patrick’s Day. The cabbage might get you in the end but I’m sure it was well worth it. Thanks for sharing. Tony.
Kingsford does suck compared to what it use to be. If you can’t control the air flow to the charcoal it will burn up in no time. I’d rather use hardwood than Kingsford these days and I would’ve never said that two years ago. I enjoyed it Chris. Good eats!
Cookin on the back porch don't get any better! Man....that turned out looking delicious! That Guinness really makes some delicious food. Your pup was sneakin an eye at a slice! You and your kitty surely enjoyed! Great video Bud!....oh...I have no problems with Kingsford.
I was anxiously waiting to hear your opinion of the Kingsford…. It definitely isn’t the same as it used to be. For steaks and burgers it’s alright, but for long cooking I’m gonna have to find something else. I usually just use wood, but if I’m at home I do occasionally break out the charcoal 🤣👍🏻
Kingsford (and other briquette makers) put filler in their product to increase mass and weight. That is why you end up with a big pile of ash instead of a clean burn. Jealous Devil makes pure charcoal briquettes, but they ain't cheap. This video reminds me that I need to hit the stores on Wednesday for discount corned beef.
Thanks for the charcoal tip... if it works better, it may be worth the extra money. I almost used a whole bag in two hours! I’ll be checking my stores for markdowns too! 👍🏻
Well dang Chris !!!! I was really thinking I had made a great Corned Beef and cabbage meal today AND THEN I see your’s 🤩 Mine was kinda puny 😕 I would have rather feasted with you 😋 Wonder what the Irish think about that Texas Pete 🤭 Happy St Patrick’s Day Chris ☘️🚫🪨💚💛🍻👍🏻
Hi Chris. Thanks for the shout-out. I have to say, that looks really good. Cabbage is good just about any way it's cooked. I eat the core sometimes. Didn't forget the Texas Pete. Have a great day 👍
It was good... sorry I didn’t show the “spork” better.... I thought I was in frame better than I actually was... I need a professional camerawoman!!! 😂
that was a great looking meal for sure sure sick of rain and mud up here see i dont mind 20 degrees every thing is froze and i can go any where but this year stuck in the house even to muddy to run the mill if i sound like i am whinning i am
I think all us old guys have a pair of these shorts.... mine are probably 15 years old, or older! 😂 I did use a different camera! Thanks for watching Carl ☘️🍻👍🏻
@@doinsngoins - something changed with the Kingsford Charcoal.... it used to be the best. Now it burns up too fast. I’ll be testing out some different brands this spring and summer.
I used Kingsford Charcoal for years but you're right it does kind of suck now now I only use lump coal which is charred wood it works a lot better and gives the meat a better flavor
Yep..... that’s for sure! I usually use that too. I thought this charcoal would last longer for this particular cook, but I guess I forgot it burned up as fast as it did. It used to last at least 45 minutes to an hour.... this stuff burned up way too fast 😂
Yes, it does!!!! I wonder what changed. It cost twice as much as it used to and lasts half the time.... I’ll be looking for a higher quality charcoal soon. Happy St Patrick’s Day Ronnie!
Let me know what you come up with. Last time I bought Royal oak lump charcoal but I was also smoking some ribs. It seemed to last longer. Happy St. Patties day to you as well!
Ok, i putting my order in now for a short & long hanled lid lifter!😉😎👍🏻🔥 I had corned beef last night with my Pops. It was actually pretty good. I hated it as a kid. It's not in the top 10 favorites though. See! The cat WAS actually there abd ya wouldn't share!🤨 10:00 🤨😉😏🤣
Sadly, no green beer for me... I saw y’all had green beer.... I didn’t like corned beef, or cabbage when I was a kid. I need more kraut for my ruebens tomorrow 😂☘️👍🏻
With ya on the Kingsford. 1/2 hour is about as good as I get out of them any more, 😐! Fine looking corned beef Chris! I braised mine this year too 😁😁. I think I am now hooked! Didn't get to film it though as camp kitchen wasn't quite set-up at the time.... Happy St. Paddy's to ya!
@@CarolinaChrisOutdoors You’re welcome! My wife made ours in the oven this time and it was the tastiest one I ever had! We’ll never cook it any other way! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching... Normally I do that, but I didn’t use any water. I wanted to try something different yesterday. It resulted in tender, but not mushy cabbage with a great taste from the steamed beer. Try it, you’ll like it!
When the wife does the cabbage she fries some bacon, takes the meat out and fries the cabbage in the grease. Chops up the cabbage when it is put in in. After done puts pieces of the bacon on the fried cabbage. Mmmm good 😊
Looks good I like to cook them wind I can poke my finger through it and it Falls a part I use a lot of b and b charcoal it does burn hot and a long time so you Have to watch it
Your meal looked great and I always enjoy watching you cook . Too bad Kingsford did us wrong , that's just another inflation tactic that is all too common nowdays. They can keep it and I'll use my natural mesquite. It makes fine BBQ and grows like a weed where I live.
Top O' the Morning to ya Laddy! That was some mighty fine Irish faire CCO! No meal is complete... Thanks for sharing with us! Cheers!
Thanks Brandon... Hope y’all had a good ☘️ day!!!

Hey Chris, Happy St. Patrick's Day! The corned beef and cabbage looked amazing. That's a great idea to do it in a Dutch oven.👍🏻🍀

Definitely.... they changed something. I usually use regular ol’ wood from a fire with my dutch oven, but when I’m at home that can be “tricky”. 🚒😄

Kingsford isn’t what i remember either. B&B or Jealous Devil I can find in Chicago burbs. Cost more but last longer and seem to have a better smell.
