The song is fucking sick especially with this ride. It's so cool when you hear it while you're waiting in line. Sounds like your in space or something.
This promo got me through the winter of 1999-2000! I downloaded pictures of the construction and was just drooling at the chance to ride this! Then on May 13, 2000, Millennium Force's opening day, I was there! My dad and I drove all night to be there, it was worth every second of it! Over 5000 people camped out near the front gate to be one of the first on the ride! What a memory and the most awesome promo to a roller coaster, EVER! Love that they use the music in the loading station!!!
This like.... Sends me to another world. Am i the only one that ACTUALLY gets the chills watching this? It's sad though because Millennium Force OBVIOUSLY lost that creepy "out of this world" feel.
Have you ever ridden it in the pouring rain surrounded by lightning at night? Millennium Force may not give you the chills but Millennium Drench sure does! In the pouring rain you feel like you're being stabbed with needles all over your exposed skin. It is especially creepy (in a good way!) because going up that hill, you feel the rain but when you start going down into the abyss, you feel nothing at all until you hit the bottom. Going down that hill, all you see is white to the sides and in front of you, as if you are riding underwater. It's just incredible! How they were allowed to let us ride during a storm, I have no idea. They were only running the blue train though. It was 30 minutes till park closing so I got on 4 times (they let us through the gate).
The “breathe” at the end…this promo, this ride, the time it released. It was a perfect storm. 22 years later and this ride is still one of the greatest rated in the world. Probably the greatest roller coaster ever made honestly. Back when Cedar Point was a literal escape from reality. I was 14 when this came out and even though i don’t go to the park anymore, it’s channels like these that post these old promos and bring my childhood back, that I love about the TH-cam.
Millennium Force is one of those roller coasters that became a classic the day it opened. While there are some airtime moments, Millennium Force is more about how it never loses its speed until it reaches the brake run.
I was just at CP last week, in addition to "greatest thrill ever", they were also rotating "at the turn of the millennium, there were signs" and "go full force"
The day this announcement premiered was the day the earth stood still. To this day, Millennium Force remains one of the most beloved coasters in the world, and this remains one of the best coaster promotional videos ever released.
Feel like I'm watching this in 99 I still remember seeing it on our local news channels. *lives close to Cedar Point* we rode it it's debut year... hasn't changed for me 🙌🏽🙏🏽👍🏽😊
YOSHI YO Mantis is the former version of Rougarou. Before it was a B&M sit down, it was a B&M stand up. It had the same layout, but just different track color and different name and cars. You should look it up, it’s a cool ride. I’ve ridden both and personally prefer Mantis (Which is an unpopular opinion).
This video got me through the winter of 1999-2000! I can say proudly, my father and I were there for Millennium Force's open on that awesome day in May, along with probably Cedar Point's all time opening day record crowd! They had to close the park for entry because of the crowd and the wait was well over 4 hours, but worth every second of it! First time I EVER grayed out because of speed on a coaster!!!!!
Love the world records cedar fair uses on their coasters, highest drop, highest hill, longest time taken on drop, longest top-bottom drop, tallest hill with drop, tallest hill without drop
it lit up my heart hearing that they added the “greatest thrill ride ever” line from this ad to the actual ride now. it plays every time the train leaves :,)
I was just at CP last week, in addition to "greatest thrill ever", they were also rotating "at the turn of the millennium, there were signs" and "go full force"
No one could ever convince me that Millennium Force had the absolute greatest promotional campaign in the history of the amusement industry, and this is coming from someone who was only an infant when this ride was announced to the awestruck world.
This is incredible. Watching this in 2022 gives me chills. Back then it must've been surreal watching a ride break the 300 ft barrier - like it'd be now with a ride breaking 500 feet, and not just being another Intamin stat monster accelerator. Wish I could've ridden it when it came out, but just glad to have experienced it 21 years later.
This trailer got them into a fight with Magic Mountain over Superman: Escape From Krypton. The height was debatable considering Superman was a shuttle coaster but it sure was faster at 100 mph. CP mocked it calling it a glorified drop tower.
Here I am looking at Fury 325 and all these other new Giga's thinking to myself, "man, everyone's quick to pickup the new giga-hype". Little did I know Millennium Force was made almost 20 years ago..... So far ahead of it's time.
Let alone the official tag line “the future is riding on it.” This ride, love it or hate it, changed coaster forever. It made coaster modern. I mean for a coaster being 20 years old. It still feels like a new 2019-2020-2021 coaster.
Too cool!!!!!! Still my favorite ride in the park after 13 years! So smooth that I rode it when I was 4 months pregnant with my son (I didnt know I was). Now today we ride it together over and over!!!!!!!
Rode Millennium Force for the first time in 2014. It was my 50th credit. I loved Mille and always will. However Mille is ranked 3 at Cedar Point for me next to Maverick and Steel Vengeance.
Cedar point nailed it with the space/alien theme and concept of this coaster. Has always been one of my favorites since I was a kid 👏🏼 Edit: Getting off this ride truly feels like you just got back from outerspace and your body has to get used to the gravity again.
Does anyone have this version of the song? They play this version of the song in the station but the download link of the song that CP provides is not the same version that plays in the station. Well no, because Cedar Point is an amusement park not a theme park.
