Using something like this, I made a bone layer. As you would in Blender for rigging. You can with Layout make sprite sheets. I use S-Up for 3D models and the 2D sprite sheets brain fart came to me one day. I was creating a exploded parts list of a home entertanment center, construction document. Just one more thing you can do with S-Up / Layout but most wouldn`t think of S-Up as a tool for game dev. But the work flow and built in tools and functioality are there. To make them walk, crouch, jump and run you just need to know what Layout can do with a skp file or and image. Layout treats your S-Up file as a SVG, build you charictors actions sheet and export as a png or PDF ..... To use components over groups just make each component unique. It allows you to change the axis so manipulateing arms, legs ... is a 'snap' ...... good stuff. Peace...
Yup. That's how I ended posing characters my scenes too. Example: facebook.com/Kemp.Productions/photos/a.1036780806367496/1060670760645167/?type=3&theater
Using same and or similar method, here's more sophisticated model with these techniques. (Facebook: facebook.com/Kemp.Productions/videos/943137375731840/)
Another very practical tip. Could be useful in doing animations too. Thanks Aaron.
And thank you, John!

Great info, thank you.
thank both of u. 😀
On behalf of Rodrigo, you are welcome... from both of us.
Thanks for this. Very cool models! What are they used for?
Check out Rodrigo's video (coming out this Friday). He makes incredible isometric illustrations using characters like this one.
@@aarondietzen2995 Any news about Sketchup 2019? When will it be released?
Ossum I really like to do it.
Very Trick! Will you be posting video of your laptop burning?
I would have, but my only video camera is the one on the laptop...
