I just have to stop by to compliment you on the production quality and informative nature of the reviews. Greatly appreciate it and I’ll be following for the foreseeable future!
I just came back this property and loved every minute there. Six Senses never disappoints and I love the modern design that really maximizes the stunning view.
I am a palm curator and collector in south Florida, and I am impressed with the utilization of exotic palms in Bali there were a lot of Palmyra (Borassus flabellifer) palms at this location and in ep. 99 there were a lot of Black (Normanbya normanbyi) palms being utilized. Most resorts (that I've seen or been to) in the tropics have a couple token exotics but Bali sems to be more conscious of the diversity of palms. I'm sure it comes down to availability and cost but just the same it's good to see well landscaped resorts. By the way, the goat cameo was much appreciated. You're almost at 10k, that's great!
Inflation is killing my budget and my salary, I can't invest and it seems like I will need to sell a part of my stock portfolio to keep my head above the water this time. "Stock and Crypto"
I do like the Uluwatu area even though it is far off from the busy sides of Bali. Love the dramatic cliffs. I once arrived at a small obscure private villa in Uluwatu late at night. Think the driver took me on the same “short cut” route from the airport, and it just looked like he was taking me to a secluded no man’s land. I was worried and the drive felt like forever haha. Then of course when I had actually arrived, I could see the beauty of the lit up property and feel so relieved. Some properties in Bali do bother lighting up their hotels even till midnight. It adds to their charms. Always an interesting experience in Bali. Thank you for another great review, Kevin. Love the manicured landscape and foliage choices at this Six Senses Bali.
Yes it was certainly off the beaten path. In some countries I traveled to I’d very much worry where I was being taken had such a road come up (but no worries in Bali, of course!). Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Yes and no 😂 If I did make it to bar in time for sunset then I surely would have missed that shot of the sunset from the restaurant. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
The property reminds me of Alila Uluwatu but I love the fact that they did a really good job with the landscaping since Uluwatu is quite arid with a few vegetation around
Just returned yesterday from five wonderful days at Six Senses Uluwatu. Not having ever been to Six Senses property before we had no preconceived notion. The property is absolutely gorgeous & the people are very friendly & helpful, but like you mentioned sometimes things get lost in interpretation. We too had a GEM person who dropped us off at our room & never heard from again, quite a difference from the week before at Fairmont Maldives.
Incredible that you were there for 5 days and had the same GEM experience I had. A part of me assumed my experience may have been related to my short stay, but I guess not. Either way though I agree it’s a stunning setting and am glad you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
The filming was very beautiful, those cliffs tho...I would describe the resort as subdued, great video and you have the coolest watermark on you tube 🥰 And as always Aloha from Hawaii
I have a complimentary 5 night Suite upgrade (and a fee night) from IHG Mylestone program and was thinking of This place. Now not sure as entry level price is not economical for me and I am really looking for that WOW factor and a solo traveller so its all about me. But time will tell. Every video opens my eyes to more and more I think its great.
I’m not sure exactly the terms of your upgrade certificate and how it would work since the lowest category here is called a “suite”. While I’m sure there are other properties in Bali Where it would also be an option- if I had such a certificate the first two places I’d be thinking about in the region are the new Kimpton in Samui and the Regent in Phú Quốc- possibly even the Kimpton in Bali. I’ll not I’ve not been to any of these three yet as they’ve all just opened but they’re on the top of my list for between now and the end of 2023. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

I actually avoid the Maldives, part by choice, part by necessity. The blunt truth is that a channel that is paying it's own way at hotels simply cannot afford to cover the Maldives. The speed boat and small plane fees, insane food prices, high accomidation prices to begin with... and then the fact that because getting from one hotel to another often involves going back to Male, the need to stay at some resorts for more than one night. At the earliest, if I did Maldives resorts on my channel we're talking mid 2026. But even that is a big "if".
I have one, but the majority of resorts where you’d think to use are either within an airport exclusion zone or the resort itself explicitly prohibits it (typically when there are some sort of private pool villas…). I don’t want any governments fining me 😊
Thank you for your video, on your next visit perhaps you can visit the newly open Umana Bali, LXR Hotel. The rate is similar to other luxury resort in Uluwatu, but you can use Hilton Honors point to get a good deal, especially when they have 100% bonus now when you purchase points.
Great video Kevin. I stayed here in early July and echo some of your comments. There were a lot of little things that kept it at good instead of great. How was the shower water pressure? Ours was so low that the rain shower head was basically a drip and was curious if our room, 108, was a one off or not. Water temp in ours was also blocked at the medium level so it couldn’t get beyond lukewarm which was a definite bummer as well.
Shower pressure was fine for me. Wasn’t great but these days I find the majority of hotels built in the last 5 years or so always have weak pressure due to low flow devices being installed. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
You should try Jumana Ungasan resort located at Uluwatu as well. The cliff egde villa has a breathtaking view that rarely other villa has to offer, while melasti beach is just 10min drive from the resort and plenty of beach clubs to chill and relax.
Huge fan of your work and have watched and "liked" many of your videos during vacation planning. Does this property have any beach access? It's not mentioned on your video or their website so I'm presuming no? Thanks.
Correct, there is no accessible beach here. Any waterline/coastline shots you see are representative of all of the coastline in this area. Thanks for watching 🩴

It just doesn't feel like a six senses. beautiful, love the pathways but feels more corporate. Hope IHG isn't changing the Six Senses brand more towards this direction.
Alright, I don’t know if this video is sponsored or not, but I am right now at this hotel and I wanna to tell you how it’s really looks like. Let’s start with my room, actually my second room… When I arrived at Six Senses, I had to wait an hour for a “water circulation process” in my penthouse pool. I’ve eaten some lunch during this time at the bar (very “normal” quality of food, not what I was expecting). After an hour I was driven to this penthouse, the room ending is on a 3 star level (literally I saw better made rooms in a 3 star hotels) everything looked hardly used, like old so I checked how old is this resort- 5 years, it looks like 20 year hotel without renovation (and I paid 1300$ per night), so very disappointing, and water in my pool was green like in a lake (I was moved to different room after 7 hours because they couldn’t repair it) unfortunately that is NOT the only bad thing here, the drinking water in a room is really interesting, on the bottle there was a date of bottling this water it was 19.08.2022, but I moved in on 15.08.2022….. and it tastes like a salty water from the tap, on the breakfast I asked a lady which seemed like a manager if that’s water from the tap, and she said- “yes Sir, but I have permission to do this, but you can PAY for different water”, guys really I am not the poorest person on the earth, but I think that paying for a water in 5 star hotel (normal water) is mistake, and the fact you are drinking water from the tap in such a hotel is terribly disappointing. I can write much more about bad things (few times I got dirty fork few times, the room is just dirty even after cleaning, service is just bad, prices are not reasonable, bad quality food) lets write about good things- the view is stunning, really you can see turtles from the balcony- that is the only good thing (you are paying for the view). So that is 5 star hotel on a 3 star level, totally overpriced, if this is 5 year old hotel for the next 5 years it will be ruin. Don’t come here.
No idea why you’d question if my review which I paid for out of pocket was sponsored or not. I pointed out quite a few weaker points and only raved about the beauty of the landscaping and location. Sucks that your experience wasn’t great but don’t appreciate the unwarranted insinuation.
Very detailed and thorough review. I completely agree this is NOT the six senses as we know it. The decor and furnishings look cheap, poorly put together and overall an average resort when its aiming to be labelled as ultra luxurious. I just came back from thailand where i stayed at the six senses on yao noi island and that was spectacular.

@@tfft Sorry, but in my opinion this hotel is even worse than you showed
Very detailed and thorough review. I completely agree this is NOT the six senses as we know it. The decor and furnishings look cheap, poorly put together and overall an average resort when its aiming to be labelled as ultra luxurious. I just came back from thailand where i stayed at the six senses on yao noi island and that was spectacular.
SS in Thailand is certainnly another level. Thanks for watching 🩴
It’s not worth $1000 AUD per night by the looks of it, great review though ❤
Thanks for watching 🩴
Now that Six Senses has been sold and is not more independent, it is getting standardized and losing its dna... Sad...
Well, this one was opened before the sale.
Wow, a bad buffet at six senses. Inexcusable.
