In the eyes of many, proper sports convertibles are a dying breed these days, especially those that remain affordable. They've been sometimes ruined by weighty metal folding hoods and intrusive electronics. They've become accessible to anyone who can afford their inflated price tags, yet truly satisfy no one with a deep-seated petrol-through-the-veins passion for driving. They have, in essence, become soft in heart as well as roof. Everything in fact, that this car isn't: Nissan's 370Z Roadster.
With Z-car heritage going back nearly half a century, the coupe version of this model is the definitive Japanese sportscar. This Roadster version though, launched in 2010, is definitive full stop. You simply can't get well over 300bhp, red-blooded sportscar handling and a fabric roof anywhere near this model's relatively affordable price point. Unlike the 350Z Roadster model that preceded it, this soft-top was created as a part of the basic 370z design right from the start, so it's as smart as it's sporty. An enticing prospect. It was lightly facelifted in 2013 and sold until 2015.

I own a 2010, it's my dream car! I never get tired of driving it, and i've never seen another one in person (roadster, not coupe). The interior dials and gauges give me a minimalist 80's arcade/cold war vibe. Everything about this car is so unique and i can merge into a busy lane without getting a heart attack. Great review!

This was a very nicely done presentation of a great sports car. I have a 2019 370Z 6MT sport coupe and can attest to its superb performance and handling, especially with some of the mods I've done to it that have brought the peak crankshaft horsepower to about 387 and increased the torque uniformly about 15% across the whole rev range. The addition of stiffer anti-roll bars and lighter weight forged magnesium monobloc wheels with lightweight Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires has improved the handling and performance further, along with a total 120 lbs of unnecessary weight shaved off. For not a lot of money more, I would say that my car is about equal to a Porsche 911 Carrera S in terms of performance and handling.
This car delivers more smiles per mile than almost any other car I can think of.

Unfortunately these cars all Z's have been going up in price with the current inflation. It's crazy to think they want 22k for a 12 year old car with almost 90k miles but that's what I see quite often. The infinity g was always a much cheaper alternate.
