refreshing to see an artist who is okay with making changes and repairs. i always feel like i messed up when i have to fix things, but i like how you just try different styles and repairing the turtle until you like it. and very good painting! i'm still learning. this helped a lot!
What a simple way to paint underwater! I was trying to make one a moment ago on digital but I thought why not follow a tutorial, but I also don’t wanna spend too much time on it since it’s only the opening scene for my comic.
Verry timely I just got back from Florida where we experienced sea turtles and dolphins and thought that I can paint that. After this video I KNOW I Can!!!! When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Thanks Teach!
It took me two and half hour to finish this 19 min video because of my fcking network but my curiosity to watch till the end keep me motivated 😅 love ur work and tnx u r doing an excellent work for people like us who really wanna paint but don't know how to 👍 tnx sir god bless you
You’re awesome! Thanks for this fun demonstration! We get 2 free tickets to Renfest for each mural we submit. The theme is under the sea. Thanks for the fun reference!!!
Very cool, man! I really like seeing the 10min paintings. It helped to remind me about why I got into art, and the freedom in it all...behind the pressure and judgment that creeps in. Keep it up brother!!
EL MAESTRO ESTÁ " JUGANDO "..........?.........PUÉS A MI MODO DE VER SU NIVEL ÉS MÚUUUUUUUY AAAAALTO.....!.......GRACIAS MAESTRO JOE POR SUS EXCELENTES MURALES......!
Joe, can you educate me just a bit? I haven't done oils in years, but when I did I always thinned with a medium or turp, but I saw you used water on the sun rays. Are you using water-mixable oils, or can you use water with regular oil paints? Thanks. I love your "not sweating the details" way of working.
Cameras should be at a slight "looking down" position when take video or still of a wet surface. Any upward angle at all will intensify the glare on your surface. Elevate your camera ever so slightly so it is looking down angle and the glare will disappear. FYI enjoy! Down angle means ANY angle that is above the "horizon" of the light sources in your room. Another fix would be to have your canvas at a more vertical angle rather than leaning back.
Thank you for this, brother! I have been trying to wrap my head around on how to do an underwater scene, and this certainly breaks it down into the basic elements for me! Glory and Praise be to God in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ for all things good! Peace and Love to you and yours!
"Not likely gonna be great" hahaha as if, should try doing something blindfolded otherwise it's gonna be a masterpiece like the rest of your paintings..
It is what every artist thinks when they start a painting. But I agree. Even his minimal effort for 10 minutes (not that was minimal by no means what so ever) still will result in something I would be proud to hang on my wall.
Do you use anything with the paint to make the paint look so thick and wet when applying it?looks like the paint stays wetter for longer so you can blend so was wondering if you added anything to the paint thank you in advance 😊 btw love your work
Yes, that's right. Thank you Becky. I put the paint directly onto the canvas which gives me a little extra time as apposed to mixing on a palette first. I do put it on heavy also.
I shall prefer that you show what you can do in one journey. Sorry i am french and i don't speack very well englih. I try to paint and what you do is wonderfull. My problem is the time. I dont know paint more quickly. But never in 10 mn.
Not trying to act like I'm anywhere near as established as an artist, but my attention to detail radar went off when I noticed no reflection from the surface of the water, on the floor bed
Joe! I don't know where you've been bud! You too must have chopped you away from my videos or something I just ran into you again You're outstanding what a stroke of good fortune right here I'm about to do my second pool mural in my swimming pool My other one lasted maybe four and a half years it's time to do something different

I love my teacher! He teaches me so much in painting! Thank you! God bless you.

Been working on under water techniques this is very helpful... Thank you for sharing your talent. May you always find a buyer.. 😉
Fun! I’m in the middle of moving but I’m looking forward to getting to the paints and trying this 10 minute technique when I’m settled! ☺️
Love how you can put down a mark that would otherwise end a painting and just turn it around effortlessly......
I love your seaweed method! Skinny, big, skinny , big.., excellent!!
I love how the turtle took shape...Really nice...thanks

I’m gonna paint a big scene on a 30 by 40 inch canvas and this will be very helpful!
Very cool, man! I really like seeing the 10min paintings. It helped to remind me about why I got into art, and the freedom in it all...behind the pressure and judgment that creeps in. Keep it up brother!!
I totally relate with you. Paint on.

I am working on under the sea painting right now. 4 ft x 9 ft am scared to death to add the sea life.
Don't fight it my friend, just let it flow. You can always change it!
don't worry, the worst thing that can happen is you learn from your mistakes
Thanks for sharing this tutorial,it helps my Mural also.

Sir he is using acrylic, it would take 2 days if he use oil paint.
Seriously that’s ridiculous, I love it and I’ll never know how you did it all with that one big brush . Thankyou that was so entertaining
You really know what you’re doing thank you

Amazing! I love watching these 10 minute challenges. Can you do a 10 minute spooky scene for Halloween?
Thank you for this, brother! I have been trying to wrap my head around on how to do an underwater scene, and this certainly breaks it down into the basic elements for me! Glory and Praise be to God in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ for all things good! Peace and Love to you and yours!

he is most likely using acrylic house paint
Yes, that's right. Thank you Becky. I put the paint directly onto the canvas which gives me a little extra time as apposed to mixing on a palette first. I do put it on heavy also.
Thank you for the 10 minute videos...Please tell the people in the room to hush.

Nice one Joe. X
I love it!
How did he paint that turtle's facial features with that big brush?
Beautiful 🎨🙌❤️
I wish I could draw.. Paint as perfect as you DO..
Joe could still do it blindfolded.
so to makee something look like its in water and not floating on it does it need to use blue colours
I did mine with crayola colour pencils. I almost like mine. That’s a good start. Thankyou soooooo much. 🌈✨🌈✨🌈💖🌈💝🌈💖🌈💖🌈💖🌈💖
Is there a traceable for this
Das ist super.
Is there a traceable
Joe, aren't you "contaminating" the pure colors when you dip that brush into it-with other colors already on it?
Amazing, thanks!
