    Update:
    1. In the meantime I found metal pins for some common joint types (5/16x14, 5/16x18, radial) - makes it a lot easier.
    2. I had problems with shafts that are no so perfectly straight. The tip was oscillating then. I solved this by installing a second roller rest in a distance of 20 cm from the other one.

    Hi, I'm also thinking to build something like this. Nice build! How would you do that with a wooden joint cue? It would never fit into the drilling machine and the wooden joint should not become deformed... thanks for any idea...

    Thank you for sharing your homemade cue lathe and I love your idea and the final product. I'm trying to build one with a different approach for ferrule repairs. Can you tell me where I can find the black drill clamp shown on the video? Your help would be appreciated.

      Hi Charlie, it's a "wolfcraft" drill clamp with item number 6152 (6152000 in some places). Searching for the name and the number might yield a source to purchase it from. Also the "store locator" on wolfcraft.com shows stores for some European countries. Good luck with your project!

      Thanks so much. This is a perfect solution for my project. I ordered this at Amazon right away.

    When you tried to shape the tip, how did you do it that ruined it? My thought would be that if you lowered the platform so the blade was to the halfway point of the tip and if you moisten the tip it would shape up quite nicely. That’s pretty much what we’d do on a lathe. The blade support platform - excellent idea

      Hi Cel, I tried exactly what you describe, but probably held the blade at a wrong angle. It nearly cut the tip in half within milliseconds. I don't think, I'll try that again, though with a little practising it might work as well.
      Thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@angelino9954 keep the blade flat. A few guys have come up with a jig like what you’re using but for a lathe. It works out great for them. It’s just a flat surface to lay the blade on

    Can offer a parts list and what did you use to mount the 3 black rollers

    • @angelino9954
      @angelino9954  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rollers are just furniture rollers, they already have the metal plate attached. The other parts are normal screws and pieces of wood and so on.

      @@angelino9954 Thank you brother..would you have time to link us to the place you got those rollers.. I also thought that a set of suitcase replacement rollers from Amazon would be a possible solution.. they as soft and nice thickness.. but would require a a mounting change

    Where did you get the drill joint pin from?

    • @angelino9954
      @angelino9954  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a plastic joint protector. By sanding while rotating I removed so much material that it fitted in a drill chuck.

      You can buy maintenance joint pins on eBay for any size pin you have. A lot are common bolt sizes like 5/16-18 so you could use a regular bolt with that thread in the drill chuck.
