Gained a sub! Sweet shit dude! I was struggling with my spot welder earlier took me 5 hours to spot weld a 16s10p but I only was able to get the parallels welded did this about 2 hours ago had it back together in about 45 min about an hour later I have half my pack in series!! Thanks a million!

не делайте так никогда, ужасно соединять высокотоковые провода с помощью свинцового припоя, он обладает сопротивлением еще хуже чем сталь, следственно потеря мощности там где применяется припой, надо было просто рассверлить посадочные места под больший диаметр провода
do not do this ever, it is terrible to connect high-current wires using lead solder, it has a resistance even worse than steel, therefore the loss of power where solder is used, you just had to drill the seats for a larger wire diameter
Greetings from California. I am quite impressed on this hack. FYI I ‘had’ the similar unit for some time. Afterwards it died. TRIAC failure. It wasn’t adequately mounted on a heat sink, first of all. Secondly, the board was not designed well. It had it’s own issues and faults.
The mains was dangerously close to other areas thus posing the welder; danger to user. There were other issues too.
I was not too keen using it and I dumped it, though I saved the transformer.
You exhibited a new era to upgrade the transformer. That’s fantastic. Now this job is for the weekend. Thanks buddy. 73s.

Has anyone thought about extending the arms that hold the welding pins? I purchased 1/2" x 1/2" brass square stock and extended the arms 4 inches. That gave me a world of room.

You Should put more turns on the transformer. That helps way more
How will that help ? it will increase the voltage and halve the current capacity .
@@das250250 no, not if you put thicker wire in. I did mine and is far better now than it was.
Waste of time- I tried this thinking it would increase the current. The core limits the amount of power transfer to the secondary. It does nothing to improve the weld or power at the weld points.
Try more turns on the secondary, the best spot welder i have uses a 12v transformer & welds 0.2 perfectly

I have a question, I made a spot welder using transformer and controller board.
I felt the secondary transformer voltage / spot welder voltage, i designed is low.
Due to this my welds are not good.

Actually yes I was playing around with a transformer today had a bunch of windings and got 30 volts so I unwinds it some and eventually got it to 12volts and I connected it to a 12v dc fan powered it no problemo

Can you make this machine from 220v to 110v
You will have to change the primary winding on the transformer. It's much more difficult.
What gauge wire did you use

This is surely going to burn primary winding, that little transformer is not ment for overloading..
