Main strats if you're going for high scores is to have speed, execution, patience (especially for those more difficult waves), and hit a defeated/downed enemy multiple times. Collect the HP Recovery items, Charge Attack Items, and the Bonus Flags. All mentioned items will be calculated once you complete a stage.
